my flatmate has the 306 Rallye and I used to own a 306 DTurbo. His is just as quick as my G60, and really predictable handling. To be honest the build quality isn't that bad either - although my old DTurbo was horrible - rattled to b*ggery! ZippyVR6, did you used to be on PGAC? There was someone on there back when I had a 306 called zippy...? As standard the 306 DTurbo doesn't have the same suspension as the Rallye, and doesn't handle anywhere near as good. I'm supprised people think the back end tends to snap out, because I found it really easy to control (although I think it depends hugely on what tyres you have). Not sure what else to say about it, other than I think its actually a pretty sound car, and a lot of fun to drive... supprising quick considering its only supposed to have 167bhp!

I used velcrow to stick it to my lights...

Give darren a call - should be a phone number on the site... He's always takes ages to reply to PM's or emails, but is very helpful on the phone

I personally find the G60 more 'fun' because you can mess around with it so easily for very little money. For example buying a £50 pulley and £100 chip, and instantly have a different car! :) But then on the other side of it, I know that despite all the mods done to my car, I can only just keep up with my mates VR6 golf, and off the line he apsolutely destroys me!! Plus I love the sound of a VR :D I think if I could afford it, I'd get the VR6... then supercharge it :D

Do you know the offset of the wheels? I think they should be ok with no arch mods up to ET30... thats what mine are (well actually ET35 with 5mm spacers, but same thing) and mine are catching a little bit on the metal.

water injection do i really need a fmic now?
Shilakadaddy replied to billinjah's topic in Engine Bay
I think a bigger fmic is supposed to be one of the best mods you can do to a G60... If you can afford to get one now (around 500 squids) then it'd make a huge difference to the performance of your car in conjunction with the water thinggy. I'm currently trying to save for a golf g60 fmic... i want one! :) -
Smoother?! hummmm... I think with the ride height shown above (certainly Jbob and Bally) its not gonna be smooth. Mine isn't quite as low, but its still a harsh ride. Although with the Konigsports you can adjust the damping to make the ride harder or softer. As for adjusting the height, it is a wheel off job. There are 2 disks that can be threaded up and down the coilover to adjust the height. The lower down the disks are on the coilover, the lower the ride height. So as bally was saying, he has wound his coilovers as low as they can go at the back, so moved the disks to the bottom of the thread... As seen as everyone else has posted a picture, I might as well too  Don't know how low it is... I just kept adjusting until it looked right - I would however like wider wheels, and to go lower at the front...

Ah finally got them out! Was just a simple lever them out with a screwdriver... The hooks came off no problem either, one of them was already half hanging off, so I could see how to remove them :) Chris VR6nosky, Removing everything so I can cover it in felt to stop it rattling and squeeking... I hate rattles!!!

Trying to stop all rattles in my car, and so pulling all the interior out... I'm currently trying to get the panel that sits behind the front seat belts out, but can't work out how to get the top lever thing off... I think it might just pull off, but I don't want to force it just incase... Can anyone help? Cheers, Chris

That Blue C is awesome!! Do you guys still have your arch liners? Mines pretty low, and catches to b*ggery when going round tight bends... I want it lower more at the front  Guessing I need arches rolled, and an alternative to the arch liners...?

http://www.g-werks.co.uk/products.php Pulleys for £50 SNS Chips (EPROM map) £110 I don't think there are many G60's around without these fitted nowadays... I've never driven a standard G60, but this is a 'must do' mod

I used those little sticky fixer pads. Can't tell they're there, and haven't moved since I put them on (which was at least 6 months ago) 8)

sweet 8) what time did you get?

I think it made a huge improvement on mine (although still need to sort the sagging in the middle  )... but the badgeless 3 slat grille could have worked just as well. Depends what look your going for, the 3 slat grille is much more subtle, and suited to OEM+

I've just been reading this... I don't even like it that much :? I like the look of his yellow one tho 8)

I asked pitstop when I was getting mine done, and I don't think they sell the kits anymore either... They are available from Germany though: http://www.bar-tek-tuning.de/cgi-bin/co ... 16461&ls=e For £264 ish... personally I'd like to attempt it myself next time just for the experience. However if its cost thats the motivation for doing it yourself, then I wouldn't bother, because you don't save a significant amount.

Hopefully I'll be going, never done a 1/4 mile before, so will probs get a cr*p time, but needs to be done none the less

Looks better and better mate, low is the way to go... hey look at that, I rhyme!

Is Lee's car a daily driver? I don't think we can question the amount of work put into the car (even if not all done by lee) and theres no doubt that the car is awesome... however I have to agree that as it stands, its certainly not the best corrado in the world. Change the wheels, do something interesting to the engine, and then it would certainly move up the rankings

Saw a Dark coloured (sun was in my eyes) M Reg I think on the dual carriageway going into Guisborough yesterday... I flashed, he waved, I waved... it was a great moment Anyone?

Can anyone recommend a track day where you don't use your own car? Basically we're trying to organise something like this for my mates stag do. We live near croft so that seemed like the obvious choice... looking at their website they offer 2 different packages that sound like the type of thing we're looking for, but I was hoping someone with first hand experience could offer a review as to whether they're worth it or not? "The Racing Experience" sounds like it would be good but I'm not sure on the fine details of this. After instruction do we race each other? how long is 2 sessions? etc... I'll phone Croft and ask for more information, but in the mean time does anyone have any other suggestions as to what we could do? different venues etc? Cheers, Chris
