-
hi. it may sound backwards, but can i change from 5 stud to 4 stud? if so, for how much (2nd hand bits obviously) thanks
-
glynn - heard that name alot of times. his vr rallye aint charged as well is it?

OMG. you're C-less! :( mind you, i bet you got cash in yer pocket now!!

Three grand for insurance??? Insurance must be cheaper where i live, cos all the taxi drivers round here drive like pr1cks! When you're 19, driving a 1.9 tdi with pulic liability for 4 passengers to the value of £1m each, you'd be suprised at how many insurers don't want to know at all..let alone for less than £3k!! .. So granted, i used to pay a bit more than most, but still...the insurance is high, so they won't want to claim...also, alot of the time taxi drivers are driving 'the boss's ' car and don't want to get into trouble so just sort it out thmselves. so you're actually getting younger then walesy? only 13 now...... can i have your C when you get too young to drive please? :)

yeah it is a bit cramped eh. excellent roads though if there were no coppers. do you know any of the 'golf boys' out there? danny, matt, etc??
-
strike me down with a thunder bolt, but not in my world there aint! sorry! in my world, what goes around comes around. thats my life philosophy.
-
defo. nobody wants to claim, especially a taxi driver. fair play though - my mate will spray it for a ton, so job's a goodun :)
-
only just seen this thread. laughed my fekin ass off!! WTF?? you're spot on mate - he's gonna be struggling with that thought for a while i reckon...
-
Its now 14248 miles , had an offer from someone in the states $40.000 Tempted,i know its crazy offer, but its still like new feel lost with out it :) 14,248 miles? so thats what, about 3,000 laps of 'the rock' mate? you've got some quality driving roads out there eh? my mates have lost a car or two on those rather substantial walls you got!!
-
probably mate. although it was a proper brighton licensed taxi rather than a saaaarf london style minicab! bothered though. the important bit is he coughed up!! :)
-
i'm sure there's a guy on Jersey that has a mk2 with haldex??
-
pretty normal i think mate. the abs sensor is probably a bit loose or has sh*t / water in it. mine does it ocassionally. maybe a good idea to whip it out and clean it up. doesn't sound major though mate. new sensors are about 20 squid from GSF if you need one.

wow. some dodering old fool in a 'smart' car (is that supposed to be ironic?) has just clipped the back wing of my C. we were both approaching a roundabout in town, with me approaching from his RIGHT. therefore he gives way. but being a fekin tw*t in a smart car he decided he should have priority. Luckily not really any damage, but then when i have a bit of a rant at him he phones the police and tells them i tried to overtake him on a roundabout and its my fault!!! so when they arrive i explain the situation and they totally sided with me! for once! yippeeee! i even said to the copper that i was slightly ashamed for saying his car was a fekin piece of shit anyway, and the copper says, "well thats a fact mate aint it?" lol lol lol PS. 2 weeks ago a taxi driver drove into the back of the C and gave me 150 quid to get the bumper repainted!! and he gave it up without a fight! :)
-
oh i see..... i was referring to him comparing 1.8 mk2 to C
-
slap me down for being a fool, but shouldn't the weight of the car have a direct bearing regardless of where they take the power reading??? 140 bhp in a 1 tonne car will be slower than 150 bhp in a 1 tonne car regardless of wether its at the wheels or flywheel?
-
at least you won't die like you would have done with the tvr. i've driven my bro's 5.0 chimera a few times and its absolutely awesome - needs some serious revisions to the suspension though. fekin scary at full chat - not very well 'tied down' at all imo fekin amazing car though - i'd love one. mind you, what about a wedge? SEAC anyone??? ;)
-
mk2 golf is a fair bit lighter than a corrado is it not? about 100kg or so? probably wrong though.....
-
was it opening before you had any work done? if so, then it must be the fitment of the alarm not the lock, surely? good luck
-
for 5k yeah! you can get a new, factory G60 engine for about 1500 quid - OEM i think the company is called
-
yuk. like all new cars, just minging. bring back the eighties (styling): quattro, intergrale, etc, etc proper cars ;)
-
gutted for ya mate. i really am. but in my experience nothing is as bad as it seems for long. even if you have to stump up for a new engine or whatever somehow, at the end of it, you'll have a lovely C with a brand new lump! quality. mind you, if it comes to new engine, it might be worth breaking it for spares sales, and getting another for you - prices are mighty low at the moment. anyway mate, don't let it get to you - at the end of the day, you're ok and its just metal eh? :) good luck fella
-
sciroccotune, can valve or ring problems make it run lean as such mate?? or is it more likely to be ecu / control in some way??
