New Car Time - My hand has been forced Alfa here I come!!!!!
double-6s replied to Blue_Joe's topic in General Car Chat
Oh god don't get another saab! Contrary to what some have said, they are still old man's cars to be fair. Sound like you want an old fogie's cruiser boat though, so I reckon you've made the right choice. Enjoy it. -
For sorting the engine now, or for tuning in the future? For now, I would take your car along to The Golfmeister in Hove and get him to have a look over the engine and advise you whats needed/can be done. PM me if you want his number mate.

How bad is putting the wrong sprocket on a VR engine?
double-6s replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
I would think the valve stem seals having been done already at 110k just means its been ragged a bit. I don't think its particularly uncommon mate. -
GOLF GTI MK5 ANNIVERSARY - WHAT YOU ALL THINK?
double-6s replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in General Car Chat
I'd get a MkIV R32 and twin turbo it for similar money. Much more fun :) -
Which is exactly the sort of thing I don't want to feel when I'm at maximum attack on some countr road!! :)
-
Cams are well worth doing Marcus. I'd forget the 6 speed unless you are minted at the moment. And finally, get a schrick :)
-
i do it everyday mate, its good fun  although if i ran some more negative camber on the back i think i would be able to rip the powdercoating off the inner rims LOL[/quote:fd8dd] :) I think its all relative mate. If I tried some of my normal daily manouvers with a mental stretch like yours I fear I would be up there with the big man in no time at all! You are a nutter :) :) :)
-
I wouldn't worry too much about the gearbox mate unless it feels shagged. You can always drop it out at some point in the future and get it rebuilt.
-
Hmmm..... Not too sure I'd want to throw that into a bend at high speed!

My thoughts are with you and your entire family Andy. How amazing that you managed to give him such a good send-off. Brilliant. R.I.P. -

Is your Corrado your "best" car, or your runabout?
double-6s replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Is that the pink and yellow striped one Stanley? -

2 corrados and a diesel van. I never seem to be able to force my self to drive the van even though its free! :) To be honest my black rado is way too severe for a daily driver (which it is) but I love it all the same :) -
What size Borbets are those Jim? 16? The car is looking very nice indeed :)

load sensing brake bias valve? edit: how do i reset it?
double-6s replied to leigha's topic in Drivetrain
.. which is something you can't account for with the standard load proportioning valve. Ideally you'd have a more sensitive setup that detects the smaller changes in ride height ..[/quote:4bca2] Is that something that is or might be available as a replacement mate? -

I want your rado's wheels! Give them to me now!!!! A gorgeous and very rare set of wheels you've got there :) All nice motors. Welcome :) PS. Have you got anymore shots of the stilauto's? -
load sensing brake bias valve? edit: how do i reset it?
double-6s replied to leigha's topic in Drivetrain
Hmmm..... Can you un-reset it? Locking up rear sounds good to me! :) BTW - the height of my suspension is hardly effected at all by load - it's so fekin hard there is almost zero travel :) -

Could you briefly explain this please? I don't get the general concept? Which load affects the brake bias? Sorry to be stupid :) -
As soon as I have some more money it's diff and FD time mate :) I can't wait.
-
I'm not entirely sure that we are all of the opinion tha the vr is flexible enough dr_mat? Otherwise why would we change the FD? It is a double edged sword though - I crave for the manic acceleration of a shorter FD, but also love the long, long throw of each gear as it is. I have the solution!!!! 2 VRs :)
-
They put some decent suspension on it I see :)
-
I agree. Too much design. Not enough style.
