    My theory is that people are actually more careful around 'rough' cars, and less careful around spanking BM's etc. We all hate a smug feker after all. So I leave my car looking like it is, a bit of a dog, rather than making it minty, and so far seem to have avoided any further damage :)

    I'd imagine whatever you put in you're going to have to make up some subframes mate. I think even if you want new recaros you'll need some old recaros to nick the subframes from? Probably wrong though. Audi TT leather look good but require some chopping and adapting of frames afaik

    So if Dot Cotton was an absolute demon between the sheets, would you ignore what she looked like and give her one anyway mate? Not me :) It seems to me that because almost all new cars are hideous people are more and more willing to accept a munter :( You've hit the nail on the head - PR bullsh*t. IMO that is a lame excuse for making a car look like a sick dog. And NO I HAVEN'T DRIVEN ONE! For the above reasons :)

    Have you seen one of those Cooper GP mini's in the flesh? Hideous! I saw one yesterday and it nearly made me sick :( It's fookin horrible - looks like millions of ripspeed bits have been glued on and they didn't even bother colour coding them! Yuk.

    Lovin that yellow thing! :) Like you say Tempest, proof of design talent. They just need to get it past all the gimps in grey suits (accountants) etc :)

    I think I just bought the last one from that US site. I do have one more uk contact that might have one, but I can't get through so I didn't want to risk not getting one. Bit expensive but hey ho. Needs must and all that. If anyone else is after an 094 fitting kit you could try Dave on 0191 5210387 and say the bloke from exeter roofracks gave you his number. As far as I know all the other bits needed for the set-up are available in the uk quite easily.

    I agree mate. Unfortunately I'm not convinced I/we are representative of the market vw is trying to 'get it right' for? I'm guessing our friends over the pond will have a strong influence over the design. As they do in most cars these days as its such a huge market for any manufacturer. Fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath :)

    For me the Mk5 R32 is a case in point mate. Decent hardware. One ugly mutha of a car though. Absolutely disgusting. I think the Mk4 R32 is the only thing since the Rado that is even half way desireable! And even thats a bit of a lard-a*se! (like myself) :)

    Clearly its gonna be horrible when it does come out. We're all into 'old' corrados, so what are the chances of many of us liking some hideous modern corporate dog :)

    Unless you want the wheels sticking out past the arches then you'll be fine!

    Speedlines are 43 or so I think mate. Rolling arches won't even help if your car is low - the wheels will be past the arch. You'd have to flare the arches.

    Spacers!!! From my understanding of it mate (limited) the last thing you're gonna need there is spacers! 8 inch width and ET27 is going to be seriously filling the arches already i reckon! :) I currently have 7.5 inch et35 and they are basically pretty much flush with the outer edge of the arches.

    So they need a refurb to sort the rims as they're painted? 150 then.

    If they're TT comps I'd say 200+ without tyres if they're good.

    I'd say go for thew 5.0 litre instead. More power :)

    Absolutely awful body control to be honest. My bro's 5.0 scared the cr*p out of me most of the time - very very fast and loads of fun, but I would definately invest in some decent coilovers! :)
