To be honest mate I'd rather pull all my own teeth with no painkillers than stick a 4 cylinder lump in my C :)
-
That's Nicholas Parsons that is mate! Happy with that :)
-
It sounds much deeper than that Trig. rattle is the wrong word I guess. Sounds more bottom end to me.
-
any news??
-
Would be pretty awesome eh Trig!!
-
i've heard nothing back from them either.
-
hmmm.......... keep thinking 24v and r32 though mate
-
Any way of telling from the pics, or otherwise, if its stage 2? There are receipts but i haven't seen em yet. was done by raj at ns racing.
-
holy cow! i would be getting the whole lot as listed above mate, oh and with a rebuilt box and sports clutch, but its expensive. more than 3k. but the engine is rebuilt and the charger only has 4k on it. both under warranty.
-
what does a stage 2 kit cost new??
-
It comes with full loom, ecu, etc mate.
-
so thats pretty cheap then? hang on, i'm getting confused..... i've been offered an OBD2 golf highline engine, schrick manny and cams, and stage 2 vortech, gearbox etc (see below). so how much hassle would that be to drop in the vr C???
-
As above, what's the difference between the two please??? Bracket? And how different are they? Cheers
-
ooh...... its been using water recently. doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere else i can see. well maybe a wee bit from the side of the block :)

Howdy. My vr engine really is feked now and is making new noises each day. Its not a huge problem as its not me daily any more and I'm looking for a new engine anyway. So your diagnosis won't freak me out! But anyway, today's noise made me laugh....... almost like 2 iron girders (small) being rubbed against each other under load!!! Lol. Any idea what that might be? There's also a background noise thats a sort of deep rattle (?) which I'm thinking is bearings of some sort. Would love to know what the 'girders' noise is though :)

In the top pic, if you took the rear valance whotsit off so you could see the transmission, it would look just like a 288GTO. THE most gorgeous car ever. What the fek happened to ferrari design - I personally don't think there's a looker in the range now. The 430 is ok, but compare it to that 355! Ugly sister or what? Edit: holy thread-hijacking batman - sorry! :)
-
rare as rocking horse sh*t too the wheels
-
mate they're gorgeous wheels. lovin the colour of ya rado too. moody green. thats a nice shade.
-
are they stilauto sigmas??? or a copy maybe?
-
I love 355's. Such a sexy car. Sounds like a good day out mate.

It totally depends on whether it's been 'driven like it was stolen' mate imo. I must be honest and confess to driving my cars very hard and generally giving them a hard life. And that obviously hasn't helped my last 2 vr engines to live a prolonged life. But I do reckon the vr lump is a lot stronger than alot of engines out there, and it's definately the strongest engine I've ever had. My last vr managed to survive for 40,000 miles over a year before it died, and i've NEVER had a car/engine last that long before :)

Mate my mind is open..... to anything other than wood on the inside of ANY car, let alone a Rado!!! Leave ya poor car alone ;)
-
What about a wooden bonnet as well? :) Or even wheels? I suppose the ride might be a bit hard, but it would look great! ;) Sorry to be rude mate, but is this post a wind-up or are you really going to trim the interior in wood? In a Rado? I'm no designer, but I'm thinking that may look a little odd? What about some nice brass switches and buttons to round off the look? No offence meant mate :) :) :)

i thought as much. he must drive like me!
