  1. hi again, thanks for advice about the scrappy, but I needed some real stereo fuses or whatever. But I went and bought those, then I broke my fuseholder, so I bought a shiny new one. As I fitted, the thang sparked a little, as I didn't bother to disconnect the minus on the battery (this was kind of road side, I just needed to hear my stereo THEN!), and now it still doesn't work. It seems like it doesn't get any power, but I know it does, since it sparks back in the trunk too. What's a wigga to do? ;) Oh, well, I better sleep on it or whatever. Ice White Socks, what stud are you talking about? There weren't any studs on the back of my player, just the ISO contact (of course MEGA special and not possible to get an adaptor to, so I had to solder, and I hate to sold ), the aerial plug connector is hanging out, and so is some type of multi-contact as well. I finally got the player somewhat flush, after pretty much removing the entire dashboard a couple of times. I think the corrado has a bad solution on the player-mounting, since it's inside its own little "cage" where any extra cables are too thick, preventing the player to sit flush... anywho... any ideas about the glass fibre? One love
  2. why don't you just buy a chrome smooth looking one like this?
  3. my aerial lead turned out to be a piece of wire taped onto the original plug. Better go buy a adapter or something. I almost got the player all the way in. I removed the entire middle console, glovebox and instrument cluster cover to get enough access, and to earth the player into the back of the middle compartment support. Is that good enough? Oh, and I just lost about four screws. Better not vacuum my car before I find them ;) And I managed to break a couple of clips on the back side of the heater cover (mine's the old-style one), so if I can't get it on again, I better go buy a new one for big $$$. I hate reassembling things. To finish everything off, I broke my stereo fuse, and I a) didn't have a spare, and b) couldn't get the old fuse out of the fuse holder, resulting in me c) breaking the fuse holder. Oh luck. I better go screwhunting soon. I checked the earth for my amp, and found out it was thick and strong cable, but it was attached to the car body with a paper clip of all things. Great earth? Nooope... This just wasn't my day.
  4. thanks, I'll do that tonight (if I can get up of this chair that is :) ) oh, and how do you guys get the cd player all the way in?
  5. Hi, just wondered where the diagnostics plug sits on the rado g60 (and probably all rados). And where could I borrow one or buy one (and what do they cost?) of those vag-com units? Oh, and I saw a couple of plugs underneath the gear trim panel. Can I use those for a +12v feed for my glowing gear knob? :) Thx for all answers
  6. I bet the samco exec's came in a fight, and one guy quit and started the competitive business Samco F**king Sucks over night. I've heard nothing but good stuff about SFS. Where did you see it? Do they do g60 kits too?
  7. it's a alpine cda-9950 with a dot-matrix display and ipod interface.
  8. v2's are usually the shit. I got the 130 v2's, but they're chilling in my sleeping room right now, cuz I need to do some custom sheet.
  9. Yeah, I've bought all the stuff I need to start my fancy dancy boot install of my rado. I was thinking of a full boot floor mould, then put the sub in the spare wheel recess, and put the little amp on the right side (the 2/3 split side of the seat) on an angle, so I can fit my snowboard in there in the winter time. But I've looked a little bit at the boot floor, and it looks kinda tricky to make a skin in glass fibre mat. Any experiences? Oh and two quick questions at the end... I put my new cd player in, but it's so little room behind the dash. Where do you put the wiring? And I get a lot of disturbance when the engine is turned off, and a whining noise when it's on. Plus, it makes a big bang everytime I take it off mute. What's all this? Thx
  10. nah, I'll rather do it myself.. but I guess I could put a bid in for fun :)
  11. I was in my car yesterday for about three hours, fitting an "easy plug out - plug in mod, done in 30 minutes maximum"- red led kit for my instrument cluster. Not that it was that hard, but a variety of stuff happened which kinda took time. Well anyways, when I had removed the surround, the glass / trim thingie beneath and the screws to the full cluster-box. Then I looked behind, took out the electric multiplug and what I think is the rev-meter signal (on the left side seen from behind, just about right behind the rpm meter). Then only one thing remained, which I never got off (or wasn't sure I should remove it, it was pretty much stuck), was a vacuum hose attached to this gray circle w/ a vacuum connector. What is this? I spent probably one and a half hour trying to fiddle the new led lights in (they fit from the backside instead of the factory stuff, that is solely on the front, giving it an easier and better connection). Why wouldn't they just make them like the original bulb holders? Much better design! And better yet? Why not just retain the original lights, but change the green filter into a red one or whatever color your prefer? Would give the same effect, it would be cheaper, easier to design and easier to produce. Anyways, I now ended up taping everything nicely together, getting everything back in again (THAT was a hassle), and finding out the left-most LED doesn't work anymore. CRAP Oh, and I never got around to change the digital screen light, cuz I never got the whole cluster out of there. What more do I have to remove? And how?
  12. I do gotta admit, you guys are freaking amazing! Thanks a ton for all this info! You should write books and get doctorates in Corradology all of ya ;D Well anyways, I'll take a look behind the doorcards any day now. The right side window actually works pretty well now, which could make it just a lubrication issue for the left one. Stanbates, where do I put that controller? Looked nice. Cool detail and upgrade, I think anyways. Again, thx a million.
  13. those pods were awfully expensive tho. 180 quid = way too much after shipping and norwegian taxation. Nah, easier to do this myself. And as long as it's reasonably loud and clear, I'll postpone it till next year, when i'm getting a new vr6 instead (moving state-side, y'all see)
  14. was the auto down feature an option? If so, how can I make it happen on mine? Thx for all help btw! And I'm pretty sure there's no such thang as a five door corrado But if you can put a TVR interior into a rado, why not four movable windows? :D Cool mod idea if you're skint on ideas and got too much a) time and skills available or b) money to spend.
  15. the speed kinda varies. I'll check the fuses someday. They sit underneath the steering column right? or on the side or whatever? Nope, no odd noises while moving. thanks for the advice, I'll take off the doorcards in a couple of days anyways, to put some real sound deadening in there.

    Gear knob

haha  I'd love to buy a mint standard one too. Anyone have one for sale?
  17. selbekk

    screws in dials

how do you reverse that? Genious idea :D
  18. would that make it go slower if it was shot? and what about the all-the-way-up thing?
  19. My electrical windows move slower than a turtle high on heroine. What's wrong with them? And they don't have the "one long click for all the way down or up" functionality either. Wasn't that on the early corrados? If not, is it hard to add this functionality (my friend has it on his rado g60 jet ed.)?
  20. I bought a full focal stereo for my old e30 beemer, but saw the light and bought a g60 instead. Not the same feel of quality, but much more fun and style. Check it out here. Well, anyways, when I got out the goodiebag filled with my brand new focal 130v2 speakers (5.25" I believe), they didn't exactly fit straight onto the original recess. It probably wouldn't have sounded very nice anyways, however, with all the vibration coming from the thin ABS OEM plastic. What I was thinking was to take out the whole door card, soundproof the door, take off the original pocket, cut out the black plastic sheet the originals were mounted in, and somehow, make something tricky out of glassfibre to fit behind the original grilles or at a minimum, the focal grilles that came with the kit. Then I would just screw the pocket on again. I'm not too sure where I should put the tweeters, but probably in the original place. Or, where the add-on MB Quart tweeters are sitting now, on top of the a-pillars. Whatcha think? Are there easier ways to do this? Oh and a great forum y'all got here :)
