Ok, firstly, my car (an early g60) is really unstable on idle. Sometimes. Let's say... 50 per cent of the times I try to start it up, it ignites, starts, but unless I hit the throttle, it'll choke because it dips so low. Also, if I run it at idle speed for.. let's say 5 minutes, it suddently chokes by itself. It happened last night when I had my car on to warm up for a bit. I tried to dip the ISV in injector trim thingie I bought, but that didn't help a mighty lot. What should I do? It usually runs nice when I first get it going.

Well I tried that, but it was too small...  what was too small? :D :D :D

As the topic states, what can you do with the headlights? I've seen a lot of mods done to these, and I was thinking of doing something with them myself. Any ideas on what would look "rad" and what would look "bad" (damn I'm good with words)? Anything, street legal or not. How can the headlights look the best?

You wouldn't let it lie if you were payed for it. everyone, thanks again. I have to admit I have to share it with my rents for a couple of months, but I picked it when we bought it, and I have the responsibility (minus the gas money, big repairs and insurance) for it as well. Plus I can use it when I like. I'll let them buy a nice little Smart or Think or whatever when I move out and take it with me ;)

Walesy, stop harrassing some people can't afford belts that easily you know. Shaggsy, yeah, it's mine alright... very proud :) all, thanks a lot. Make that four hours of grinning by now. Too bad I have this huge exam tomorrow, so I can't drive any tonite. One love, y'all.
-
haha, yeah, y'all with your tea, cookies and walesians (spelling?). I forgot, you're supposed to reattach pants after step d). Fitting the doorcard with your wiener swinging may be harmful if you catch it in a clip or your zipper or whatever is in its way. Dinkus, you're supposed to screw the top off the radiator. billinjahg60, you got it. And Walesy, stop harassing me for my methods They are just as fine and accepted as yours.

I tested my rado alone for the first time today. What a feeling! Now I just gotta sort the stereo out (it's making whining noises after I swapped the head unit), and I got myself one crazy ride :D I've been grinning for the last three hours :D

try to open the sunroof, and then close it again. That was it when I had that problem. Congrats with your NEW car :D

nice, all of y'all. ToffeRado, I love your rado :) Here's a tiny reflection pic of mine. It has like 10 coats of clear paint on it, so it's pretty sturdy too :)
-
Ah, I am so sure that could be the problem. I can't believe I forgot to do that. Sorry all :) Anyways, everything worked before I changed the player, except that the player was kinda screwed up (to make it not mute, I had to push the lower right corner pretty hard. I love quality gear.)
-
Once I changed my player, I got alternator buzz and a nice big "bang" from all speakers (thru my amp) everytime I de-mute it. I tried to re-earth the amp to the metal bracket you screw the center "pocket" (the one under the ash tray) into. There's two screw holes in it, I screwed it into one of them. Is this a good enough earth? And could there be different reasons for this sudden distortions?
-
are they that big a job to fit? I reckoned it was a) take of door card b) take off pocket c) take off pants d) attach new pockets e) fit doorcard?

if you're going to drive in the snow, you're going to use snow tires anyways, right? I ride around on 15"ers with a 60mm drop here in norway. not really a problem, but if you think it's too low, take off the front spoiler.

ever since I got my rado, I've been thinking of somehow having a one piece fog/marker item. Ever seen any like that? and are anyone but me diggin' it?
-
alright alright, I just wondered about the porsche ones for now :)
-
genuine bases from what car maker? VW or Porsche? And does DSP have an internet page? I searched for porsche mirrors, but I didn't find anything special.
-
Hi, I kinda f**k'd my passanger side mirror the other day (I hate corrado hand brakes ), and I would rather buy some neat replacement porsche ones than getting them repainted. Besides, the Porsche ones looks a thousand times better than the originals. So, I've seen adaptor kits you put on original 911 tear-drop style mirrors, but where do you find them? What if I used the original bottom piece from my rado mirrors, and somehow fibreglassed them to match the design of the porsche ones? How have you guys done it? :) And if you know where I can buy a finished set, that would be even better..

nice idea, I guess I'll put what I've done the last month or so then :) - changed the instrument cluster lighting to red, put it all back together, for then realizing the leftmost doesn't work - took apart the entire mid section of the dash to re-earth my new cd player, for then to realize it didn't help on the alternator feedback or banging in the start of each song - fitted a new gearknob and gaitor, for then to rip off one of the leads that powers the light inside it. damn. - fitted a new air filter and a chrome air filter bend. The filter has about 1 cm clearance from the alternator belt now. Stupid design. uhm, that was about it I guess.. I need to give it a wash soon :)

nah, fat cows definitely got everything to do with lowering. Never measured mine, but take a look anyways :) sorry, I haven't had time to take any pics of it yet, these are from the earlier owner :) And now it's a tad higher and on 15 inch snow tires :(
-
alright thanks a lot... I heard it was a pain to remove :( What kind of screw is it?
-
hehe that a boy... they sell boschmanns at my local grocery store for gods sake :D
-
oh I really hate that instrument cluster. It is a f**king pain in the ass to remove, make flush again, and make it work :) I'd go for a new one, but definitely check it before you go buying anything. It might work with a little fixing and soldering. Are you sure the plugs are in all the way? And the right way? :)
-
yeah, I've bought a new rs outlet with fancy colors and bits, now how do I fit it? I guess I will have to remove the inlet hose, and the old one, but how do I do that? Where are the screws, what should I look out for, how do attach the new one and so forth? one love, thanks in advance

I agree with crdo 16v, buying a used interior over the internet is a far better way of doing it. Otherwise, if you're into traveling, I am sure you can get a just as good retrim in one of the earlier east-block countries, like poland or latvia.
