Can you get an all black dash, it'd match the interior more.
-
Reckoned about £600 for the dash (ish)
-
Think he told me £1200 for him to fit it, plus the dash itself.

Do you get issues with 40mm drops though? Whats it like over bumps? I've already caught mine a few times and I have standard height!
-
As I'm thinking of doing the usual 40mm drop, to stop all the bottom out at the front over the speed bumps around me, is it possible to either take off or reduce the height of the front lower part of the bumper? (The black plastic bit that always cracks?) Anyone done this?

According to the BBC, surfing the net has overtaken TV as the nations biggest past time for hours spent doing it. If your not online now, then your in the dark ages. I don't think I know of one person who isn't? For the few that don't, it's their own choice and probably mistrust of the internet that causes them not to go online.

Cheers. Also looking at the Koni Suspension Kits for £390. Assuming no one says "don't do it", how much do you reckon for getting these fit at £30 an hour?
-
MK2 or 3? Could you quickly post a link so I dont stuff it up! Cheers

Are the Golf clear side indicators on ebay the right ones? If not where do I get em from?

And so you should be!

Which is why I said a NONE VR6 Corrado! IE, not including the VR6. I was a member of the owners club for the whole time I owned the car, http://www.306gti6.com Believe me when I say it's 0-60 is 7.2 and 147mph top speed. I have a top gear download vid that says all this if you like. As well as everyone over on the 6 forum. 6 close ratio gears, 167bhp. Read some of the pdf reviews people have put up from mags. Around the track (poss 5th gear), it was marginally faster than the Civic Type R, mainly so they say due to the great handling and gearing. I prefer the VR6, so no argument here.
-
How do you mean "beat it"? Looks? In a straight line? Better handling? Did it feel as good to drive as the Corrado does? They are different cars, the GTI-6 was faster, both on twisties and a straight line. (0-60 7.2secs top speed 147mph). 6 Gears! The C is more of a cruiser I'd say. Nicer on m-way but I felt more confident in the GTI-6 on B Roads. Thankfully the VR6 came along and made up for the speed! Given a choice, I'd go for a C in my present situation. With kids, a 6 would be better. Back on topic, I know what you mean about go with what you like. Jay, would you do all that again knowing now how long it took you? Also, would you start another project of that size now?
-
Hey! My previous car was a 306 GTI-6! In standard form it would easily beat a none VR6 Corrado! But I know what you mean about french cars! If it stops rattling it means its just fallen off! Would one of those black ebay jobbies do the trick or are VAG a better bet (for fitting properly?)
-
I'm keeping my door strips! Bloody teachers just fly their doors open! Thought about getting them painted but if they get knocked and crack the paint it'll just peel off. What are the headlights your on about? Piccys of result? How, what?
-
The most obvious change would be the grill (for cost and reversability). Still undecided on this. Would like diff wheels and lowered but your talking around £1k just for those 2!
-
Aren't there a lot of people who say non VAG rear lights never fit properly? If there are some that do, which make? Even I know to stay away from some ebay stuff!
-
Would a 40mm drop effect everyday use? I go into a lot of schools, which means speed bumps of varying sizes. Would this be an issue? Plus, to save me a search and to keep on topic, what would a decent set up to achieve a 40mm drop be? Coilovers and shocks is it? Koni & H&R? Plus labour, what are we talking?

I'm at point now where the C will be sprayed soon and the bodywork looking all minty. Now my original plan was to get the best standard example of a C I could (I like standard!). Keep the same wheels just refurb them, get everything fixed/working, you get the idea. But now after spending the last few months on here and seeing various pics from Ultimate Dubs especially, I find myself looking at different wheels and bloody grills! Then different interiors! (Cheers Jay! ) I'm stuck what to do. Should I concentrate on my original plan or do some mods, as this would be the best time to start them (before a repsray). I know it's all personal preference but when I see people winning awards I think "I want that!". Plus with Furks C winning even though its nr standard in appearence it makes me think all awards aren't about whos done the best/craziest/most expensive mod. Please bear in mind mines a daily driver so slamming it to the floor wouldn't be an option! :) Cheers!

The Peugeot GTI Autosport Club (of which I use to be a member) has a free forum. If your not a member then you were allowed to post in some parts of the site but only read others. For sale and a members only part for example. Take a peak http://www.peugeot-gti.net/new_layout/l ... e=homepage At the mo, they're offering free entry to The French Car Show 2006 (pretty big) if you become a member. As well as getting a metal keyfob with the club logo on and a mag. I'm sure free entry or discounted tickets could be arranged through the organisers of such events? One other thought. http://www.newzbin.com are a site that indexes newsgroups (for downloading). It's worth joining for various benefits but not essential and its 25p a week. £1 a month I think is nothing! One thing worth noting though is that although people will feel its a good price, not everyone trusts putting details over the web (even paypal), and because of that won't sign up. My 3p! :)

As a repsray isn't far away, I was thinking about getting a few little bits done as well. Like the rear num surround, door handles, etc. I know from searching that you can paint the VR6 Engine cover but has anybody got any pics? Just wondering what they look like and whether or not to go for black or body colour? (Aqua Pearl) Cheers

Just had a quote from my local trusted electrical peeps for the parking sensors that fit into the rear bumper. (The four little circles). £200 fully fitted. As I'm getting the car partially resprayed inc rear bumper, they will be body colour too. Any pics of a C with these fitted would be nice. Cheers
