Wonder who'll be the first person to mod theres!
-
I think the idea of the test was to show that just because a car says or looks like its quick, it doesn't necessarily mean it is.

I paid £2600 for the VR6. Thats with a recent engine rebuild and clutch. Now on 101,000m. £320 for cat1 alarm/immob fitted (now done) £2000 for the respray. (I like to over estimate) £250 to get interior back to how it should be (full heated leather recaros in v good cond) £150 to get air-con working again. I'll leave out mechanical stuff as it would be the same on any C, but once that is done, what do you reckon it'd be worth? Not that I'd want to sell it of course!
-
I suppose it depends on what you want to spend your money on. I reckon anyone that smokes spends that in a year! Just a thought?
-
It was the Nova 1.3 SR and the test was 0-60, not top speed or anything. These are from Autoexpress Magazine, I doubt they've fiddled the results.
-
No idea. Got these from this weeks auto express. I'll have to re-read it.
-
No, £20 for the cowling, £70 for the wipers. Inc Vat
-
Do you think replacing the cheaper sensors, say these; Lambda - £70 Throttle position - £40 An array of oil/water/air intake temperature sensors - £10 each ...would make a difference to fuel economy and/or idling etc.
-
Done me a deal on the lupo wipers too, £70 for everything. (wipers and arms etc)
-
£20 for the Cowling (top and bottom) for any other interested parties.
-
How many sensors are we talking about here? The main ones I mean. I'm trying to get my VR running as sweet as poss without a huge bill, but I imagine sensors aren't cheap?
-
Nice one, cheers.
-
Ahhh! Cowling is the word I'm looking for. Have to stick it in the wanted section!
-
Nearly every problem I have with cars has usually something to do with a sensor! I was wondering, do manufacturers have recommended times to replace certain sensors? On a 13ish year old car I would imagine they're not quite as accurate as they once were? Is it recommended to replace certain ones to help iron out any engine smoothness issues?

He he. yeah! Never ending! Wondered why you had a pic of bin laden eating a pasty for a minute until I looked at it more closely! (Walesly)

I'm sure I'm missing something ifront of the hazard light button? Also, the prev owners seemed to have liked fitting different immobilisers to the car and theres a few remnants as you can see. Might have to go for the whole steering wheel thingy(whatever its called) to get it right I assume? Cheers

It'd be good to have a knowledge base with this stuff in (not in general chat) but as products change all the time and get updated or replaced it would be difficult to maintain. What would be useful to have in the wiki is do's and don'ts. Like dont pressure wash you bay!

Elbow grease gets my vote! Sparks I'd use VW's. Tyre discussion will go on forever. Suppliers: VW & GSF. Exterior Cleaning: Meguirs for top jobs.

Hope he/she gets raped by the insurance and police. I'd go for the injury claim too in this circumstance! Although I hope your not.

Which is quicker? Autoexpress have just done a test on these this week so these are their figures. If you've read it don't tell anyone the answers. What do you think. These are 0-60mph tests.
