HT Leads were just replaced after its big service. Just got my HT removal tool so could have a look.

I suppose that sums it up. I cant let the engine tick over in traffic, it doesn't stall or seem to come close but it kind of goes back and forth as if your doing it in an engine thats not strong enough to keep it rolling under tickover.

I've heard that it might just be a characteristic of the car but when I'm crawling along, say 10-20mph, the car doesn't seem to like it. It almost feels like it does when you nearly stall a car (the learner driver juddering, back and forth). Now it's no where near at that level, but seems odd as none of my previous cars have done this. Perfectly fine when at higher revs or accelerating. Also seems to do it if I'm in gear, say 2nd and coasting along at low speeds, almost as if I'm lightly pressing the clutch on and off, kinda hard to describe. My mates VR6 does the same. Do the VR's not like crawling along? The only thing I can think might help (but I'm no mechanic!) is that on my GTI-6, the clutch cables are known to dry out, which can affect the smoothness of the clutch. What are they like on these? Clutch was replaced 15k ago. Cheers, Andy

I don't have a garage so couldn't do that. Would like to keep it alarmed.

Can't you just ride the horse to its destination? 1bhp! Cheap on fuel!

As you know I'm selling my 6. People have emailed and phoned for details which is fine. Several people have phoned to arrange a time to come and view it, which is also fine. What really p*sses me of is when they say x o'clock and then nothing happens! No, I can't come, or I've changed my mind, which is fair enough. What I'm wanting to say to people is....... If you want to see the car, then arrange a time and keep me informed of any changes. IF YOUR NOT SERIOUS, STOP WASTING MY F**KING TIME! Rant Over!!

What the hells drawing the power when its off? Is it worth getting one of those solar powered trickle chargers when left?

I'm hoping to evetually get the C to the point where it'd be not used for work and would turn into a weekend/holiday/show type car. I was just wondering whats the longest you would leave a VR just sat, ie, not turned over or anything. I've always assumed cars don't like to just sit in storage.
-
Is there any easy way of testing the ac, its about 1-degrees C outside so I cant tell with sticking my hand infront of vents! Also, only 1 & 2 currently work on the blower! :(
-
Yeah, aircons in the car, although not sure if it works as its too cold outside to test it! Is there anything missing? What is all that fuse type block for?
-
Is there something that should be plugged into the white part? Also, what the hell is it?

More satnav/speed detectors get nicked from cars now than anthing else. Having £300 sat on my dash all the time isn't what I want to do. Might have to keep it out of site and rely on the beeps. The diag doesn't really give you much info anyway I suppose. Trouble is, I never use the thing because I cant be bothered carrying it around.

Conversions, Rebuilds, Modifications anything u need doing?

Just out of expensive curiosity, how much of an ar*e was it to do the TT dash conversion? Can't have being easy! -
I swear half the text I wrote is missing! Not my fault! LOL Basically, my manifold (passenger side, as theres 2 parts to it) has a crack. Its a VR6. £150 for the part from VW, just wondered if there were cheaper alternatives?

Try proving it! Councils require a letter from the pope before they do anything!

http://www.chipwizards.co.uk/ 07977004476 He's called Wayne Schofield. He remaps cars etc, got a proper set up in blackburn. I had a fault on my 306 GTI-6 that Peugeot said I needed a new ecu for (£750!!). He came up, tracked it to an ignition coil and charged me £40 for it! £50 for the coil which I fitted and its sorted! He's the only person in the country that can remap MR2's and some type of porsche I think. Sound guy. Just say you got the number from Andy in Keighley who had the 306 GTI-6. If its ecu related he'll sort it.
-
Could they not look at the ABS for you? Or check the ECU? If you need the number of an ecu genius/remapper/repairer then I can give you it.

Yes, I know I'm creating loads of threads today but I'm new! :-P All I can find on search is reviews for the Road Angel. I have an RA2 and am wanting to put it somewhere out of the way where I can leave it in the car all the time. Perhaps fixed in the tray under the steering wheel? I will prob need a seperate antenna but they're only £20. Has anyone on here got a permanent place for theirs? (PS I think I'm done for new threads today!)

Its the whole bodywork, well, external anyway, and door sills. Not stripping the interior or anything, cars currently a daily runner. I think he said he'd take the windows out. Only spoken to him on phone, said he'd need to see it (obviously) before he can give me a proper quote, but around the £1800. He's currently restoring 2 e-type jags for someone!

Got a price off VW, apparently theres 2 parts. Mines the passenger side one thats blowing. About £150 from VW. Now I have searched but still not sure so no :hitler: ! :) Should I stick with the VW one or is it any better (or even cheaper) to go for an aftermarket one?
-
Just spoke to someone about getting the VR back to minty condition on the bodywork. Full respray, get rid of a little bit of rust/stone chips etc. Now I've being told hes very very good, so theres that to bear in mind. He said it would be around £1800 for the lot to be done and would need the car for around a month as hes usually v busy. Don't thinkI could justify spending that on the bodywork! Might just get the rust sorted and maybe front end blowover, should be a lot cheaper!

Never let me down before. He builds his own rally cars and imprezas, really knows his fast cars.
