I'v had this problem since I bought the car, and realy never looked into it to much, but want to get it sorted - so if anyone got any idea where I might start feel free to chime in. Here is a video with the temp-sensor disconnected (Yellow temp sensor) http://s16.photobucket.com/user/Mawrick/media/13050049_zps2cf9e72f.mp4.html Here is a video of the cluster when the temp sensor have been connected again: http://s16.photobucket.com/user/Mawrick/media/13050050_zps46aa5c11.mp4.html It will do the same from a complete cold start (on video oil temp was around 60 C). I'v confirmed the cluster is working (in another car), and also checked with another cluster in the corrado with same result. From the vide it seems like it will add a tiny bit to the temp when the sensor is connected, and also the needle seem to rise a bit faster. Anyone ever encounter such a problem ? - or have any clues where to start?????? The car is a 95 VR6

Yea, think I'l head over to VW - but is it G12 or G11, as it says G11 on the reservoar tank ???

As I'v forgotten wich coolant I used to buy (I think it's this one): http://www.commaoil.com/productsguide/view/6/351 At least this is the one I know had available - anyone know if this is suitable for the VR6 or should I get something else...... The system is pretty much empty right now, so could do a "clean out" of the old, and buy something else that might be more suitable ?. Any tips appreciated.......

VW Corrado takes on the new RS6 - Autobahn :)
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in General Car Chat
Have to correct my earlier comments, as he had done a bit more watching on the video - and found out it must be a different C then the one I mentioned above, as his have a black backdoor with white spoiler..........but yea guess we can conclude it have to be a VRT ? :) -

Actually found the owner of the C and got in touch with him. Spec of the car last year: 563PS and 620NM by 1230kg More info about the car in german is here: http://vr6turbo.net/ -

Yea, they are almost hitting the 300 km/h (it says km/t on the screen = km/h ) :) -

I see they write in the article that it looked to be a VR6 badge on the hatch, and it "shot" out from the exhaust every time he seemed to do a gear shift........but yea, no idea what was under that hood lol....:) -
From a norwegian magazine doing a test drive of the new RS6 on autobahn, suddenly they are trying to "push" on somewhat of an older car in front of them :) Check out the video on this page: http://www.autofil.no/915129/nye-audi-rs6-raskest-av-alle (they do speak norwegian - the corrado shows late in the video....so watch it all :) )

Quite a big FNM / Mike Patton fan myself - but stumbled upon this the other day, think it is pretty good stuff: Soulsavers - Featuring Mark Lanegan and Mike Patton!!:

Nice one! :) ---------- Post added at 12:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:10 AM ---------- Deff not - sadly I think Commodores role in computing have been harshly understated whenever one watch documentaries etc dealing with these things....... For anyone interested in Commodore and/or Amiga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfTIrJu7NbE&list=PL6bj0FVZdCWwnnTyLlcZAKboB-i6yaZFO&index=1

Any of you guys able to tell me what these connectors are called?: Also used on flexi hose that comes from the compressor.

If you have VAG-COM and are able to diagnose the car while running I presume the sensor should throw an error if faulty (however this sender will always throw an error if the car isn't running), and as GC says this sensor is vital to the operation of the car - as if it doesn't get correct signal from it it will cut off fuel supply (IIRC). I also had much fuel smell in engine bay, and was hard to "find" but actually turned out to be leaking from the fuel supply line (the 2 lines that goes into the fuel rail), but what made it hard to pin point was that it only seem to be leaking at "startup" - when the engine have fired and there was steady fuel supply it seem to leak less at least, so worth checking out. (have someone look at them while cranking), it might be hard to see that leak anyway, as it might just drop a bit, and it goes down on the alternator :)

Does anyone remember the 80's and 90's game Elite?
Mawrick replied to Portent's topic in Off-topic Chat
Kickstart was also Amiga's Bootsrap firmware.........lol.......and AFAIK it also ran Elite! :) -
IIRC this is VERY true - I think the whole point of this thingy is to pretty much make sure the car won't keep feeding a potential fire hazard after accidents etc - if the engine should have stopped for some reason - but then again I could be completely wrong....lol..... BTW - If you have VAG-COM the engine speed sensor (g28 I think it is) will come up with error if scanned only with ignition on - even if it's not really at fault).... ALSO: Make sure ALL your ground connectors are good - They can cause a lot of grief.....;)

Any of you guy bought property - or rented property in Spain?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Yea, been traveling in Spain before - but only once on the mainland (Marbella/malaga area) - which I guess would be the area I would consider most - that or in the area around Alicante. Actually have been thinking of some kind of long term rental for a while to see if it's something to go for............guess the prices will stay "low" still for a while anyway down there, so I guess it's no rush really -
Not sure if I'v posted it before - but Mike Patton and his "mondo cane" deserves whatever exposure it gets....lol.... And I guess the complete show:

Every f'in winter is given me the creeps up here in the North - and I'v started to think about migrating to southern Spain, and was wondering if any of you guys have bought and/or rented apt/houses in that area - and if you have any tips on how to approache this?. I would eventually be commuting - or whatever it's called, as I work on a bases og 2 weeks "on call", 3 weeks off, 2 weeks "on call" and 4 weeks off......- but kinda have to be in Norway during those 2 weeks "on call"......

Hope it's not a re-post :)

deff looked good, but after trying hose clamps like the ones in the picture from the post above (not my post), which is supposed to clamp evenly (it's the ones where the screw just screws directly tightening it, without having the threads on the "band" itself but still had problem that they would "untighten" after a little while, and IIRC the OEM ones wouldn't fit onto these.....sad but true :) )....... Ohh well, personally I'm just better of being safe then sorry.....:) lol Just thought I'd flag my little "concern" here though......as a tip ;) (although I would think the rubber lines would be just fine - but I would strongly recommend the OEM hose clamps).....it's the "self adjusting" ones): Didn't find pic of exactly the ones on the fuel line - but same style as these ones: Cheap from the dealer anyhow :)
-
Just my 2 cents - I went for braided lines ........for a while Was actually a kit made for the Corrado - BUT from time to time I smelt petrol - especially just after "startup", after a bit of testing smaller clamps, and thightening them (I used the same as shown in the picture in the post further up also)......but still smelt petrol - after a while I got someone to look when I started and it was leaking petrol when doing the start, and the petrol drained straight down into the alternator. After this I went with the OEM hoses and OEM Clamps (Would especially recommend using the OEM Clamps - even if one goes with a normal rubber hose).... Just glad mine didn't catch fire, as it would be real danger of that pouring fuel into the alternator.......;)

Maybe a bit easier to see here - but I guess you have already figured it out ;)
