  1. yea, it's the anti rollbar. AFAIK it's the correct way - but feel free to have a look (I think this was one of the things I looked into when re-assembling it). Uploaded the pic: (if you can view it)......
  2. After the rebuild I'v noticed much more "shivering" in the car, and just recently found out that the bar that goes on the back of the subframe hits the downpipe.......I belive this to be the cause of the shivering I can feel around the car. SO, is there any way O could fix this? - eventually replace this bar with another type ??. Pics: the purple arrow shows where it hits..... I presume it's caused by lowering the car.........even though it realy doesn't sit that low....
  3. Alright thanks for the info guys!....:) Should be fine then.....:)
  4. haha - true - even more fun to blast a "old racer"....lol.....:) (Clinging to the term calling me "young" still)....lol.....:)
  5. da** thought I'd made a thread about mu Corrado Support vehicle :) have a few *bad* photos of it, but here goes: it got roughly 55000 km on the clock today..... Generally a nice car to drive - don't have the same "sporty" feeling as the Corrado - but still a fun drive - and a pretty anonymouse car - which I like :)
  6. Any idea about shipping to Norway ? (ex: interior light, gear surrounding, and steering cowling). Also what you want for those things - if ending bidding early ? cheers!
  7. Just lowered the C a bit - unscrewed the z-screw and then just turned on the purple ring, making it lower. Can anyone confirm that's the correct way - to mee it felt I was rotating stuff at top as well - should I hold back anything when doing this or ??? cheers!
  8. Yesterday washed/foamed it down, and did some polishing/detailing - Looks much better now :).......this was at my paren't place (bigger nicer place to do this type of things) - on the way home smoked a bmw which where trying to chew my rear bumper - Uphill......:) Don't think it was much engine in that car though......lol
  9. Just recently got a leak from one of the frost plugs fixed, and changed all the temp sensors to original sensors. Today I got the AC tested and refilled - have never been working since I got the car, now it's up and running :) And *da** that things cools things down (not that I need it in this weather but anyway)....:)
  10. Alright - according to my brother it went when he hit a hole in the road - although I'm not to sure about it, kinda think he have been driving it hard....lol Not sure if it at all can brake from hitting a hole in the road though.....;)
  11. Not sure if this is the right place for this Q, but anyway - my brother wrecked my mothers car gearbox (at least that's what I think have happened)....:) Anyway - does any of you know which gear boxes will fit a Golf MK4 1.6 petrol, are there any known issues with these boxes which one should look out for if getting a second hand one?. Are they hard to change when engine is in the car? maybe easier to take out the whole lump ? Thanks
  12. Ahh, alright - no worries, kinda just felt that there was more "activity" around here before the change, but as you say it might be down to people not re-activating :)
  13. Not sure if it's just me, or if in fact that there is less activity on the "new" forum ?..... I kinda use less time here myselfe sadly, but also sense that there is less activity then it used to be before??... Am I correct or not?
  14. Personal preference - but just have to say I liked the old forum better, and sadly finding me using the forum less now then before.......:) (maybe that's a good thing?...lol....) VERY much miss the direct link to my own threads on the front (in the old forum) - where I now have to go to my profile to get up a listing of my own threads).....
  15. And I who though it was only us norwegians that rolled over accepting things like this......:) They are on the hunt for out money - and nothing will stop em from taking them..............."accident prevention" my ass!
  16. Not a violent person - NORMALY, but I would like to see some broken knee caps for this fu****. Hopefully (for sure :) ) you'l get it sorted out though, nice to see they wheren't able to get in.
  17. And if for some reason you have a bad day - I guess this is how you have to look at it! :) [youtube:299okowg]mW3Wp7SH3JI[/youtube:299okowg] And a couple of more from Great Big Sea (almost sounds Irish): [youtube:299okowg]fudwJZhiYxk[/youtube:299okowg] [youtube:299okowg]lLVQKVzK4iY[/youtube:299okowg] [youtube:299okowg]q7Bsb-8pxG8[/youtube:299okowg]
  18. Good to see your back behind the C wheel :) (Happens to most of the "leavers" it seems.....lol....;) ) (but then again you knew it ;) ) Nice motor :)
  19. Cause of insane taxes on cars with big engines in Norway I'm looking at pro/cons choosing 2.0 tfsi in a passat over a 3.2. There is curently a 3.2 for sale at an "ok" price (norwegian price wise) - but started to think a bit about the 2.0 tfsi as well, due to the manual gear box option in that version :) Anyone driven both? - and have any thought's on how it compares ?. Not really digging going from a VR6 to a 4 cyl though......ahhh the sound..:)
  20. Not sure if they could stop the cluster from working - BUT there is a few fuses in the fan control module (at least on the VR6). Looks similar to this:
  21. Stored away in a garage - so it's doing just fine thnx :) Although I'm sure it would have no problems coping with winter/snow, reason for it to be resting during winter for me is the amount of SALT they use up here on the roads......if it first start to rust and that sh*** get in there it's not gona be around for long....:(
  22. Not sure if you could vag-com it?..... Also here is some general info about it: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.p ... -2591.html Personal experience (from a tip I found online from a O2 sensor maker - but can't find it again): Try to get the car hot - take it for a "hard" ride, then stop and rev engine to about 3000 rpm's for roughly 1 minute, and then slowly take it down to idle and let it idle for some time. (might have to clear errors with VAG-com now). If the sensor is dirty this is supposed to be able to "burn" off the residue that's on the sensor. I tried this on my VR6 Passat - which had a error with the O2 sensor (confirmed with VAG-COM, and tried to clear it several times prior to this), also it failed MOT due to this, after I did the procedure above, cleared it with VAG-COM and started again it was all gone. Now 3 or 4 years later, the same sensor is in the car, and haven't thrown any errors since then :) At least worth a try :)
  23. it's quite easy - although I haven't read thru this guide - it should give you a clue I guess :) http://passat.stoynev.us/maint/oil_cooler.htm Hope that helps!
