  1. I didn't say I will go for softest settings, but I'm looking for a nice ride, not a "kidney crusher" ride (the roads around here isn't the best in this world ;) ). That's why I think maybe the V1 will fit me better than the V3 (if the V3 are harder at any settings)...;)
  2. Ok, gona get it fixed by welding in a new bolt, but was just wondering if that would be ok, and I guess it should be....:) Cheers!
  3. Just a final Q before I order, would the V3 be able to also be softer than the V1's ?
  4. After checking a bit it seem that the fuel pump relay should have stamped "80" on it....;)
  5. Anyone know if there is much "stress" on the bolts that holds that "rubber-ball" thingy inside the cup under the front engine mount?. When taking mine of, one of the bolts broke (noticed a small "crack" going inside the bolt), and therefor I have to weld in a new one, so I'm just wondering if there is much force being put down on the cup itself, or if it would also be safe to drive only with 2 bolts in place?.
  6. Will be a cool project to follow....:)
  7. if you can't hear the fuel pump run, I would first check that the fuel pump relay is working, eventually "jump" it for some seconds to see if it will "buzz"...:) Can't remember the number of it from top of my head (maybe 81 or 181?), but I presume someone in here will be able to say which one it is...;)
  8. I'v been thinking of getting the injectors inspected and cleaned as I'm doing a bit of overhaul on my VR6. Anyone know of any companies doing it in the U.K, and also roughly what it would cost to get them serviced?. And would it be a good idea to get the inspected?.
  9. Anyone have any pics of a VR6 (or other) inlet manifoil with color Black Chrome, and/or Gunmetal grey?. Also interesting in seeing alloys with the color on Corrado's, prefarable Brombeer colored Corrado's
  10. Looks good, did you do any sanding down, or did you keep the "roughnes" in the metal?.......I kinda like the original look so want to keep it that way....:)
  11. sure will do, will take some time though.........the drivetrain is going in for powdercoating first, and have to get that refitted first, then I can get around to the engine itselfe, as it's getting the chain done, head gasket ++++++ :)
  12. hmm, ok, guess I'l go with powdercoating on the inlet maifoil (which was the one I talked about...;) )..... Have a friend doing both so the cost isn't realy that much of an issue...;)
  13. Any pros/cons between the two?, what would you do on a VR6 inlet manifoil if you have the option between powdercoating and ceramic coating?. Wanting to keep it looking stock.
  14. Good thread, soon going to degrease my engine, so good to hear experiences people have....:)
  15. hmmm, ok, any idea where to find the thread about it?, tried to search for it but comes up with many hits.... Also any idea about powdercoating the housing?
  16. I want to open up the Bosch 120amp alternator on my VR6 to clanup the aluminium housing, anyone have any tips or guides to how I can do it?. Also any idea if the housing can be powdercoated, or will that make the alternator to not work?.
  17. will the V3 be able to also go "softer" then the V1?....or only harder?
  18. I had a problem with my passat VR6 turned out to be the O2 sensor that caused it, it came up on VAG-COM. I searched around the net to find out if there was any way to "clean" the sensor, and found some info from a manufacturer (can't remember the link), and not 100% sure exactly how it was done but it was similar to doing this: Go out and take the drive for a spin til you get it real hot, then while standing still rev the engine to around 3000 rpm's for around 1 minute...... (it's the rpm/time I'm a bit unsure of, but I think it was like this). After I did this and cleared the fault from the ECU I put it in on a new test and it where just fine....:) Just a tip though, have no idea if it will help you.....but it worked for me...;)
  19. Now it starts to become interesting.....to bad norwegian taxes will boost the price WAY to high, but maybe in a 10 years time...lol...:) It should come with a VR sound CD though....lol...:)
  20. The reason why I want to do them myselfe is that I plan to get the powdercoated etc....the finnish from a replacement caliper isn't the best in the world...imho...:)
  21. ok, thnx. Any idea if it's the same for 2.8 and 2.9 ?
  22. Might have to take of the head on my VR6 and was just wondering if there is any reason for not choosing the metal head gasket ?. Also is this gasket the same for 2.8 and 2.9 ? (might put in order from the states as I need some other stuff from a store over there,m and presume it's for the 2.8).
  23. I know one get redress kits for all the seals etc for the break caliper, but haven't found anywhere to get the piston, anyone know if these are possible to get anywhere?.
