  1. do you mean like the actual barrel dan? also to all: can someone please tell me if when i was taking engine apart i broke something that i have just taped up at the moment it is the the wiring that sits on the one of the two struts between the cam cover and inlet mani! cheers andy

  3. yeah me and the old man thought it was the throttle body linkage so we eased it with a bit of wd40! seemed to be better but the pedal is definately not getting released fully quite dangerous aide nearly went in to the back of a white 106 in lake last night! when you mean cable to tight do you mean that metal clip that lets you adjust it being to tight!

  5. hi all update tonight! got home started fiddling checked spark fine check dizzy and leads all very clean but i still cleaned anyway! checked all boost pipes for leak all fine undone and re done most of them back up she then doesnt start then starts took for drive to get rid of excess petrol she seems to be getting the accelarator pedal sticking too! so then got back started her again fine, went in left 1 hr go out not starting now started it once in 5 attepts put my hand on isv and that was like vibrating not massively at all can just feel it to touch! is this normal getting really stuck now lads! idle is ok when she starts! throttle body seems to be sticking slightly but i may be able to put that down to the pedal???????????? just really stuck lads any help would be great thanks Andy
  6. Hi all as you know this is quite dangerous! and i am quite worried about this does anyone know how to cure it? Basically problem is its not releasing itself fully! i have to get my foot under and pull it back up at times! Thanks in advance Andy p.s seems like everythings going wrong at once! lol!

  9. i think my timing is ok nick as I havent changed my cam belt/timining belt! and it was ok before when i get her running again my aim was to get her over to dazza for new middle section on exhaust i may ask him if he can check the problem them! I have spoke to a few people now regarding the problem and have a few things to try tonight if i can fix it i will update later Nick: where did you check for air leaks or do you mean petrol leaks bud? i think battery is fine as alternator seems to be turning same amount as always! defo checking the spark tonight thou!   10. hi dan thanks mate that is exactly what ive got on the cards for tonight! where would a possible air leak be and also dont air leaks generally just make your car run dog rough! or can they totally disable car seems a bit strange to be an air leak as it worked all day sat as well!

  12. hi darren yes everything starts like usual turn ignition pump then primes leave few secs turn over! then its not firing up? alternator is turning its making all the right noises! p.s it has started twice while giving it a bit with the throttle cable!
  13. hi all changed seal checked all fuel lines no leaks now! but the C started the first time but now wont start again! can someone please help! could it be an air leak or it not sparking?? Cheers Andy

  17. no i just changed that last night! thats what made it worse see it was leaking slightly then i took it off and the seal was mashed so i changed it for the new seal i had nipped the bolts back up primed and it pis*ed out with quite a lot of pressure have the hex bolts got washers on veedubbed! and yes is hard to get the bolts back in and evenly! Daz thanks for your reply how exactly do you fit the seal right? i just put it to where the old one was!

  20. where does that go to the underside of the fpr dan? did you have the golf always have a soft spot for mk2's we will have to catch up next time!
