  1. Jepers D with all that polishing I'm surprised you still have any fingers! Loving the smoothed VR6 intakes they reall clean up the bay on their own! However would have thought you'd have finished this twice over by now! ;)

    RAC Polisher

Have a simlar style one, bought as an Xmas pressie. TBH haven't really used it... They ok for taking polish off over large panels just don't press too hard as it slows the speeds down (not much torque from the motor) and they heat up pretty quickly.... However if you apply polish and wax with pads as Rob says then it's actually easier to remove by hand rather than lugging on of these round the car...
  3. Drove past 2 on the m6, and 4 on the M1...yesterday. Good job I wasn't in the untaxed (Bloody DVLA still have my V5!) Corrado... I'm off to the local DVLA office Monday to get a V5 with my new address on it... as Swansea have no idea where my V5 is... Feckless barstewards...
  4. Kev, didn't think you believed in cleaning your car!
  5. dunno about wheels etc, but go for Silicon fluid.. I had it in all my air-cooleds and my SkyRocket give better brake performance as it feels less spongy under braking... if taht makes sense... Downside is that it v.v.vhydroscopic so needs to be changed frquently and can't be mixed with normal fluid either..
  6. That could be construde as leaving the scene of an accident... bet if they were called they'd breath test him as well as throwing the book. You got his details and he is insured yeah? Drop him to the plod anyway, it can't hurt.. they can still take referance from the marks etc..
  7. Hey what year is it? The proper GTi model was short lived (I have an 82 Gti) and came with the same 1.8 as the Mk1 (external air-fed oil cooler) After that they used Mk2 1.8 inj engines and designated it a GTX IIRC with the GT's having Carb'd engines. Usual things to look out for.. if it has a body kit (most do) rust in the arches and sills, the engine should be a K-jet if it's injection so pretty bullet proof. Steering racks can be a pain as all non PAS.. and electrics tend to wear with age... But all the usual things you look for in a Rado will generally apply to a Rocco (except the spoiler and the VR6)... just remember it's another Karmann Parts bin special so expect not only Skyrocket only bits, but Mk1&2 Golf and Passat.
  8. Spent last night thrashing a Brera round the streets and it took all the punishment I could hand out without a single issue.... Mind you it was on my PS3! One of the director at my old company had a 159 with the 200hp dismal engine in it as a lease car... he sent it back after 6 months and several electrical problems... His attitude was "well I've got owning an Alfa out my system".... He opted to replace it with a Goof Plus and last I heard he'd orded a Red Goof GTi with all the toys.....(not that I'm jealous! noooo)
  9. Uh-oh.. here come the "ambulance chasers"! Ironic but you'll probably get as much for the whiplash as you will for the car! So maybe there's light (corrado lights... very dim.. at the end of the tunnel!
  10. So lighter fluid removes children from the back seats.. hmm...
  11. Have a look at Bally/willg60(?)/ G60greeny...amongst others.. all have shaved no plates..
  12. Damn what's happening.. is it Ram a Rado season? Grimmy what hit you? Glad you're ok, but I would have called the Plod... definate Driving without Due Care & Attention, also skid marks will give an indication of speed... Looks like he was really tanking it before locking up! Best of luck sorting insurance out and hope you get another one soon...
  13. Ooooh, very good tip! I might have to give that a go... Just remember not to light up in the car afterwards
  14. Well done Nikki, and you're right to be so proud... All that hard work and little/none of it "cheque-book" work either.. Just wish I had somewhere better to work on the cars, not allowed to do any mechanical work according to the lease :(
  15. Any pics of the damage? If only a CatC some-one here may buy it off you and put it to rights...
  16. Please leave your personal fetishes out of this public forumand get back in the box!
  17. Cheers Bally, just got hold of him via Ed308 PM...
  18. I don't agree with that slob having 2 Jags mate.. believe me! As I said mate, I think Jezzer is a top bloke and more power to him for having worked his way up to his current status to be able to afford Ford GT's and Lambo Gallardo's.. just, being on topic and all that, don't think he'd be much cop in the position that was being suggested :) Dunno, he'd ban all Vauxhalls from the roads.. thereby freeing up the middle/outside lanes of most of our motorways....
  19. Just get a blank page from their addy.... Need to contact about getting some wheels done...
  20. So are the Phyllis H4's readily available now Kev? Last I heard they were "on Back order" so went out and bought the Halfords He-Man Super Spider Man spandex shiney H4's on BOGOF...
  21. The Wedge looked in pretty grim condition before TBH... Plus drive any flat-fronted vehicle into a building sized concrete block at speed the same will happen... Mate hit the back of a transit with his splitty and it held up pretty well! Except for the hole punched in the front by the towbar!
