At the weekend I replaced my dodgy throttle cable and it has totally transformed the drive.... much better. Also gave it a wash and a hoover which it badly needed.

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive December 05]
biggrim replied to PBSTORM's topic in General Car Chat
Spotted a Mystic Blue Storm this morning on my way to work. Was stopped on the lane closest to Infinity Computers at the traffic lights just before the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow. I was in the far left lane but there was a car or 2 obscuring the view. Looked liked you gunned it up the slip road onto the bridge. Nice -
Replaced mine at the weekend - WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It totally transforms how the car drives and no more revving mid change or whilst sat at traffic lights. The dealer had the cable in stock (shock horror) but not the grommet, it comes in on Tuesday, I just had to fit the cable. Had a nightmare getting the old one off, the cable has been replaced at some point and it was held in place with some interesting engineering. Thanks for the help guys.

Now that is nice!

Still here Furkz. Our cars are 1 digit and 2 days out. They almost look the same too. (Although Furki's looks much better) Spooky!

LOL! No microwave in car guys, come on, I have a Rado and therefore taste. The car is parked in the driveway and the microwave is in the kitchen at the back of the house. Passes through 1 x 90mm timber stud wall, the entire living room (10 feet maybe) then through the external wall (approx 300mm thick) then screws with my concept 300. Pain in the a$$

My microwave sets off my alarm everytime I heat something up in it. Slightly embarrassing at 11:30pm making hot chocolate.

Apparently GSF do them. There is another thread with the part number on it. Has been up a few days. Edit: this one http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... call+valve

Sounds like a blocked recall valve to me matey.

The human body can withstand massive g-force, more that a 70-0 decelleration. One guy experimented and pulled 30 odd G's in 1/10th of a second and survived. Only thing that happened was his retina's detached. Crazy mo fo strapped himself into a rocket sled test rail and got fired along it. You'd still be dead in that smart car tho.

VW don't make the recall valves anymore matey! I asked about a month ago and the parts guy said they've been discontinued but might be getting made again either December/January by VW. I've just bypassed the pipes to make my heating work as the metal recall valve on my G60 was buggered. HTH -
Check out the sticky revs thread ;)
-
I've not washed mine in well over a month which is very unlike me. Just moved into my own house and every spare minute is sorting bits of the house rather than spending time washing the C. Pics to follow.

Just off the phone to my local stealer! The parts will have to be ordered in (as usual) but it's only coming to £21 + V.A.T for both the cable and the rubber gromit. So quite a cheap fix @ just under £25 inc V.A.T. I'll just have to order it now and get it fitted asap. Is it easy enough to fit then?
-
Damn right g60greeny! And it's normally before the car has warmed up so you can't show 'em who's boss! I'm gonna get prices over the next few days.
-
Ok cheers for that tip Henny. *off to think of where £40 can disappear magically without g/f noticing*
-
Cool, thanks matey. Another trip to the dealer to spend money. Just got to keep it quiet from the girlfriend ;)

Had a quick search before posting and I've cleaned the ISV but still getting this problem. I've got a 92 G60 and the revs have a habit of sitting too high when I first start the car and also when it's up to running temp. So when I pull up a set of lights it sounds like I cant drive. The revs go back to normal but only if I hook my foot under the accelerator pedal and pull it up the way which is really annoying. I can't imagine it's helping my fuel consumption. Is there anyway to lubricate the throttle cable or is it simply a case of buying a new one? Thanks in advance and apologies for bringing this up again.

Ok, got a few here (well 3). First one, Yellow H*** XNV 16v parked at a sainsbury's garage in Edinburgh - think the owner works there - was spotted again about 4 days later by my Girlfriend's mum. She's quite the rado spotter as in Edinburgh recently she's spotted that one and another black rado H*** LSD and a White one too - K*** SSU. Any takers from my remote spotter then? -
There's a guide in the Knowledge base I think Furks.
