    Rear Spoiler

G60Jet, Andi, Thanks for the replies guys the answer is yes to the stereo question I heard that there is a wire some where in the area of the stereo that has something to do with the spoiler speed sensor.I am going to take the stereo out over the weekend and replace it with a new one anyway. So while I`m doing that I will check the wiring.I had a look at the gear box before but I could only find the speedo drive I took all that out and checked it and it seemed OK.I don`t know if the sensor on the gearbox is on the underneath.I`ll try the stereo first. The MFA is working fine no problems there. :? :? :?
  2. dazzyvr6, You`ve lost the plot mate what made you think a GTI would be a replacement for the C was it one of the Turbo versions you fancied? Audi TT V6 maybe, but a lardy golf no no no.Nice to see you saw sense in time though :? :?

    Plug Leads-VR6

dazzyvr6, When are you getting the Samco`s are you getting a good deal on them?I heard the ccgb got them at a really good discount-about half price, dunno if its true though. 8) 8)

    18" alloys

Yeah, daz mate I saw them advertised, you`re still going to have to buy tyres once you buy the wheels.I would stick with 17`s and lower the car onto them to get the right look.I think 18`s would give a harsher ride anyway. 8) 8)
  8. Dazzyvr6,quite fancy the idea of a supercharged vr6 it would probably give the car more low down grunt than it has now.Don`t know about buying from NSR though have you heard any reports ,2.5k seems quite cheap for an extra 60hp. I remember seeing the supercharged Vr6 in Performance VW a couple of months back, that was cool and fast a real street sleeper. 8) 8)

    Xenon headlights?

Hi,I had my G60 done by Pentagon Autotint, they have franchises all over. I had a pearl green car and had the windows done in light bronze smoke(sounds terrible looked awesome) It cost about £300 but it had a lifetime guarantee. They did a really good job and I would use them again. 8) 8)
  10. Hi,any idea how much that would cost :?: :?:

    Xenon headlights?

Yeah I had tinted windows on my G60 I think they look cool if they are done properly. It`s the ones that look like purple Quality Street wrappers that are c**p.It`s also a bonus if no -one can see you sh****** the wife or somebody elses wife :!: :!: 8)

    Wheels

I was wondering what the current trend is in wheels for the C.What makes, styles, sizes are you guys running on your cars.I know it really is a matter of personal choice, what looks good and what you think looks good.I am currently running Borbet `C` 7 1/2x17 with BF Goodrich tyres,I find they are classic style and easy to clean :!: Before this I had polished BBS RC on my G60.What are you guys using :?: :?: 8) Too hot`93 VR6
  13. Does anyone have any experience of aftermarket spark plug leads for a VR6.I was wondering if anyone can recommend replacement leads, there seems to be a vast selection.Do they really make any differnce? :?
  14. Hi,I`ve got an antique Kenwood radio cassette with a fairly new Kenwood six disc multi-changer.Personally I think the multichanger works better than an in dash disc player head unit.I think you can protect the multi-changer more depending on how it`s mounted. The discs still jump to a certain extent, but it really depends on the size of the pot hole you hit.Thats the streets of Glasgow for you. :D :D
  15. Hi, I think they just look like standard MK2 Golf steel wheels only in a slightly bigger size.Personally I think you would be cheaper buying a set of 15" alloys out of Adtrader or similar.I think the car would look better on the alloys. 8)
  16. Hi, I had a similar problem to that of yours on my G60, I tried numerous local experts but in the end bit the bullet and took the car to a main dealer. I was like you and feared the worst thinking the charger was on the way out.It turned out to be a bearing had partially siezed on the main cam belt pulley at the crankshaft end. They ended up fitting a new cam belt, pulley, bearing, belt tensioner etc. It cost about £130 a lot cheaper than a new charger. The noise it made sounded like a belt slipping but had a slightly more of a grinding sound to it,the was most noticeable from cold,or after the car had been sitting for a while. It also sounded as if it was coming from the area of the charger.Hope this helps. :?

    Leather Interior

Ecellent any idea how much it cost to have the re-trim done? :D :D

    Leather Interior

Yeah,ok VR6,I`ll take the two hundred and pay the postage to IOM--------------not :!: :!: :!: :!:
  19. My Corrado has full electric Recaro interior and I was thinking of changing it to black leather. I don`t know if I should have the Recaros re trimmed or should I try to find a second hand leather interior and sell off the Recaros.Anyone got any experiences of re-trims or any recommendations as to who could do it.I think my first choice would be MJ Interiors as I have seen his work in numerous show cars and it always looks excellent. What about Audi TT style baseball glove stitching in a Corrado. 8) Any thoughts :?:
  20. I`ve been there and done that and its still the best coupe on the road forget the young pretenders Volkswagen`s Corrado is simply the best. The VR6 is superb performance wise even though I have a tasty Golf VR6 as an every day runaround the corrado still turns heads every where it goes. 8)
  21. I didn`t realise what a can of worms I had opened when I started this.Everyone has their own insurance stories and recommended companies.I see that there are a lot of young guys paying scary amounts, what about doing a cheapest and most expensive Insurance-survey forum whatever you want to call it. OK here goes VR6,`93 max no claims,no points, too old to speed  live in the land that time forgot, fully comp £255 :!: :!: :!:
  22. Insurance is like most things Corrado related expensive. This year my renewal dropped through my letterbox last week and guess what ,surprise surprise it had gone up again, despite having full no claims, being old enough to be sensible, more security than Fort Knox.OK it was only £25 but this soon adds up if you let it coninue to increase annually.I decided to shop around and after one phone call I had saved £105 on the policy, that was without trying too hard. The moral of this story is always shop around.Don`t belive everything the Admiral tells you I now Esure and they are certainly worth trying when shopping around.
  23. I saw some crystal clear on a silver car and I thought they looked a bit iffy,I thought they would look best on that colour but after seeing them in the metal I am not so sure.Personally I would go for the M3 style of clear and red they look more classy, the others look cheap.Hope you haven`t already ordered or bought them :if so sorry if I`ve offended you.
  24. I think it is from a "K" registration onwards that requires a cat to be fitted for MOT purposes.ie.August 1992.My last G60 was a May 1992 and i fitted a cat free exaust to it and had no problems at MOT time. The car seemed to be free-er reving when fitted. :D
