  1. Time for a change them back poll me thinks??????
  2. Ok heres a bit of an update on Project SFTW. Been quite busy decided to swap the early dash that was in the car for a late version. Just thnk the late version is more pleasing on the eye.One or two areas of difference between the two made me decide to take out the whole early shell and replace it with the later version.I have replaced all the wiring looms for all the switchgear, the only one that didn`t need changng was the headlight wiring. All the others are different. At the moment I am waiting for a heater control cable and a Corrado MAF stalk to complete the change. Also picked up a set of Speedlines to give that OEM look. Will get a few pcs up later of the progress.I`m on a different laptop and all the pics are on the other. Pics coming soon
  3. Sorted out the heater blower problem a bit of wiring missed by me!!!! Anyway thats now running fine everything has been tested and electrically seems to work fine. Just need a heater control cable,I have two out of three!!Then the whole lot can go back together. Got a Golf MAF stalk and the control wire is too short so need a Corrado one too. Apart from that it should all go back together and look OEM. Which was the point of this swap in the first place.
  4. Yeah I think change it back and the MODS have nothing to do with it let it run for a few months to see how it goes. I think the no P/M rule is unenforceable and thats where problems arose in the past. Just let the buyers and sellers get on with it and take nothing to do with it. Another interssting point to note is this thread has had more replies than anything else at the moment!!!!!

    OBD2 setup

Can you change the dizzy version OBD1 to coilpack OBD2
  6. Nice ad I like its style brings back memories!!!!! Not interested in your shift light though!!!! Free bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Excellent mate could do with them fairly sharpsh. If you can sort out a price I`ll Paypal you the payment. I`ve stll got your details from the wheel:cool:
  8. Excellent Chris can you check the cables have the round connectors and not just the bent wires ( late as opposed to early)Also can you check the MAF has the longer wiring ! I'll take the lot if you can post it all to Scotchland !
  9. Don't really understand what the problem was with the old system ? Maybe the seller should have the ability to edit their thread by allowing them to tidy the thread themselves ? ED38 still runs the old style classifieds and they don't seem to have any problems 
  10. I have notiiced the breaking section still runs on the old format. I for one would be more likely to use the secton if it went back to the old classifieds. As another poster said its easier to use E-Bay and that must be a bad thing!!
  11. I think the new classifieds section is not as easy to navigate as the old listings. Maybe people are just not bothering advertising on here any more!!
  12. Do you have any heater cables by any chance?? Just need the one and and MAF stalk ??
  13. Heres a bit of an update on what has become dash wars I decided to go down the route of replacing all the looms too,in order to avoid cutting and splicing the originals.I have managed to replace all the looms for the fogs, heated rear window,ABS.I have tested them and they all work, sorted out the speakers and tweeters. The radio works too!! The heater is still an ongoing issue as I don`t appear to be getting power to it.I have a yellow and black connector plug that doesn`t seem to have a home!! I will try to get a live to the heater tomorrow and see where I have gone wrong.Ideally I`m going to have to find a wiring diagram from somewhere. The other thing I have found is I am short of one heater cable I believe there should be three and these are different from the early version having different connections at the end.The pictures show it looks a real mess but once I get the dash shell back in it should look a lot better.
  14. Is the rear hatch silver Or white its difficult to tell or it might be my eyes??? If its silver is there any rust on it at all????
  15. Centre dash part that radio and heater controls fit into? must be undamaged with all mounting points intact. MFA stalk ?
  16. Do you still have the mfa stalk and the lower ignition cowling?

    Removing the dash

There is another one in he centre behind the cubby. Once you take the centre section of the dash out there is a metal bracket behind it. The dash bolts to that you need to undo the 10mm nut on the back of the bracket. Don`t know about the other one I thought there was only 5. I`m in the process of removing mine so will let you know tomorrow if I find another.
  19. Hi I am looking for a centre section for a late dash. The plastic surround that houses the heater controls radio etc. It must be mint with all mounting points intact and no cracks. Heres a pic of what I`m after
