  1. I'm getting used to the throttle response and its not too bad around the town. Maybe a switchable remap would sort it ie sports for motorway/track and normal for cities where the throttle is numbed right down?? MPG! lol your correct with lead + foot hypothesis lol but no idea if I have the lambdas plugged in right yet so may be using more fuel than necessary. Once its all sorted I will put some MPG calcs up.
  2. Yeah, some weird throttle response. But I reckon the would be down to the sensitive throttle pedal. Herisites, have you had yours remapped? I was thinking today that I will get a full 2.5" system fitted and will then get mine remapped to take advantage. Aiming for the magic 300bhp
  3. What Ive been doing today: Tidied up the fusebox area and fitted the plastic trim under the dash to make it look like it used to. My interior is no longer half dissasembled. Took some pictures after tidying the engine bay slightly and fitted the last exhaust clamp to the back box. Was going to visit herisites this weekend to see if we could work out why my exhaust fouls so badly but something has cropped up at home and need to sort that out first. Now Im pretty much sorted, I will save up for a remap and sell some spares on to recoup some cash. But my intention is to do a write up of how I did the fitting so anyone who is brave enough to do the same can have a better definitive guide than the existing one on the forum. Next phase of the project will be to rebuild the rear subframe, feels skittish around corners so I think the rear needs a spruce up.
  4. Cheers Karl, I did think about doing this. But think most people were getting away without putting shims in. This may be the best and easiest way of sorting it, saves removing the manifold and getting it reshaped. Will give it a try, maybe make a few spare for others who need them
  5. oh ok sorry, I thought the comment was to see if the sensor is common to other cars. I misread it.
  6. I was hoping that you would offer to help, Pete said you were close to me and that you are. You around this weekend, or you going to the Stanford show? Im using the VT front mount, diesel gearbox mount and standard vr6 rear mount. Im not mad on the VT and may go to OEM in the future. Not checked the sump clearance to be honest but will try and check later. PM me you number and we can chat cars more lol
  7. just a thought, is there a servo setup out there that will fit the corrado? Might be a little cheaper to replace a servo and sensor from another car than pay that amount? Wouldnt be an easy fix, or easy to find a substitute, but it may be worth someone checking?
  8. Can any one out there who has carried out a 3.2 24v aka r32 swap using a dubpower exhaust manifold help me? Im having big issues with the position of the manifold flange fouling on the transmission tunnel and even Pete himself from dubpower is confused by it all. :brickwall: Now because Pete hasnt seen the car in person and only pics we cant determine the cause of my problem. So....is there any one local to Peterborough running a r32 with dubpower that can allow me to come visit and compare and figure out why mine fouls so badly. I know alot of you run close but nothing as bad as what Im seeing. Why is mine such pain  ? Im planning to travel to Hereford and Wales in the near future, so if anyone on my route can help also help that would be a bonus. Please please please, anyone
  9. I keep trying but vagcat isnt working. petes build detail it enough for me to check my plumbing thanks though
  10. cheers, would have been simpler and quicker if I didn't decide to refurb the whole subframe at the same time. It would have been a simpler job. Any one got a photo or image on how to correctly plumb up the variable intake pipes. I mine doesnt work, tried booting it with someone looking at the actuator and nothing happened. And does anyone have a picture on how to fit up the oil pressure gauge? I cant recall seeing a port on the oil filter housing to allow for the pressure sensor to fit into. edit: found pics on pete griff's build. Which sensor do I use from the vr6? I have two, both with different colour. I pressume the low pressure is the best to have fitted but how do I know which one that is??
  11. What was she driving? Although i dont recall seeing cars, just blurred colours! Is yours back on the road. The actual swap was quick, but I did spend almost 8months buying all the kit and getting stuff ready. Wasnt cheap but saved a fortune doing it all myself.
  12. it had to be a quick conversion as its my only means of transport, big thanks to mates who helped me get to work. I think in all I spent 7-8 days doing it all would of done it in half that if I didnt come across so many issues.
  13. its doing my nut in, vag cat is my lifeline!
  14. I havent had the tracking sorted but decided to go out for a test drive, and boy does it shift. I hit 120 without knowing down my private road  and was pleasantly suprised by it all. Few thought so far is that it revs so much better than the 12V, it also sound different in a good way. :luvlove: I need to sort out a slight misfire and the variable inlet doesnt seem to function (linked issue?). Coolant temp on the gauge works but I don't trust it, it seems to rise slowly to what I would expect temps to be. Front vibra technic mount is a bit harsh, may remove and fit the oe mount if I cant get used to it. Will plan for a remapping session now :D
  15. Well ran the car for ages last night on idle now that the fan was wired up and it seemed to allow for the temp guage to rise. Need to check but the fan seemed to kick in at about 70-80deg C, shouldnt this be more at 90-100deg C? Any one know if the oil warning light on the dash should function as normal or not? Mine constantly flashes and i dont know if it's a duff engine or bad wiring? Almost finished everything last night but the damn driveshaft bolt would screw on, looks like I damaged the CV joint thread. So replacing that tonight and will then go for a spin. Did notice that trying to start it yesterday it took a few turns of the engine and a little help from the throttle. Im hoping it's still because it hasn't ran properly for a while.
  16. I can't remember mort, but have a look through my posts on my conversion and you should come across the part numbers. I ordered all, if not most of my parts from TPS so didn't matter if they were audi or vw part numbers Any one know if the oil warning light on the dash should function as normal or not? Mine constantly flashes and i dont know if it's a duff engine or bad wiring?
  17. well mine is a late audi 3.2 so should be the same for the mk5.
  18. I've seen a red corrado driving around Peterborough, and another red one parked up near the Nene parkway. Are these yours? I'm still having manifold and de-cat issues. It causes a really bad fit to the whole system, maybe I got a bad manifold? Will try and get Pete from dubsport to sort something out. The bad running may have been sorted. I raised the fuel pressure to 3 bar (that figure right?) and think I found an air leak in the induction hose joint so heres hoping. All is good. Tell you what, it sounds soo much quieter at idle. Anyone know why my interior engine temp gauge doesnt work? Is this normal? I may have damaged the front wheel bearings as I forgot to tighten up the driveshafts before moving the car forward and backwards under its own steam. But will suck it and see. Last things to do now are, wire up the fan, do up the driveshafts, fit the slam panel/bumpers/lights and indicators and then I think Im done :-)
  19. Well, I managed to find out. It is a M14x1.5mm. Hopefully this is of use for future reference
  20. Any one know the thread size of the steering rod ends? Mine are a bit corroded and require a bit of a tidy up so was going to get the right die/tap from a local shop but don't know which to get. The rods are on a VR6 if that makes any difference
  21. oh, sorry the part number I gave was for the plug that fits onto the pedal. The loom wiring is part of the fusebox side off the donor car. These arent cheap or easy to get a hold of. Can't you just find another car of similar spec being scrapped and cut off a length of loom you need to fix the missing part?
  22. well it is in but not complete enough to go for a drive yet. But sounds pretty good without the exhaust fitted :norty: Bracket is 1K2 721 187 C Pedal plug 1K0 973 706
  23. :mad2: :censored: The exhaust isn't cheap so Dubpower will be hearing off me very soon, esp' when they knew it was specifically for a corrado! Started her up again today and fixed the fuel leaks :D but noticed that the engine hunted quite a bit. Any one have any clue why mine hunts so badly? Does it just need to run under driving conditions to "learn" the fueling etc?
  24. damn it! now i have a fuel leak and exhaust issue to sort out. The fuel leak should be straightforward enough to sort out but the exhaust is a bit confusing. The manifold sits very close and touches underneath the car  argh!!
  25. I can tell you the part number for both when I get home tonight if you like. Otherwise try vagcat, thats where I found the part number out for the bracket you mentioned
