  1. great idea, just added mine. Only thing is I didnt want to put the exact place where I live, Im too paranoid
  2. right, I will have a go a writing the second draft of the guide this weekend. Any idea on how I can keep the word document file size down when adding pictures? Otherwise Ill do a pdf version but not sure if web links will work :confused4: If anyone has pictures of areas that cause the most headaches such as from mount, aux pump, etc etc then stick 'em on here so I can copy them into the guide. cheers Who's wired up their aux pump, could you write up a short description of whats needed to be done? Ill include this and also need to know for mine as I havent wired it up yet.
  3. Hi all, not really been online too much just been enjoying the car tbh. Am tempted to go to Players on the 19th in Essex. Anyone fancy going or joining me?
  4. very nice car, utterly impressed and deeply jealous!
  5. love that bay C5 OEM! dead jealous heres mine, not the best picture and still work in progress
  6. Just a quick one, Ive jus my car on page 82 of the performance magazine :)
  7. pretty much what I did too, I will highlight this a bit better in the next release of the guide, cheers dik-van-dub
  8. Cheers guys, I plan to do allot more to the guide and will update it with as much info and pics as poissible so keep the suggestions coming. Pete my manifold issue was resolved after speaking to dubpower where he and I found out the rear engine mount needed trimming down following storms excellent advice. Your right about the 24v being the way forward, however I do miss the all out roar the VR had but I dont miss the blue smoke, rattling chains and the lack of throttle responce. cost wise I agree 24V is THE cheapest way than rebuilding a 12V properly Ill be really happy once my throttle responce and flat spot are sorted but that will come to be sorted soon once I can scrape a few ££`s together
  9. Cheers for some of the feedback. the guide is a very early version that I want to improve over time including pictures, part numbers etc so I will be asking for these kind of details over time. I wont be able to do anything on this for a few weeks as I shall be away visiting family. If anyone wishes to do some editing, adding deleting then help yourself, just let me know whats been done. I have floor mounted DBW pedal on mine and works fine. infact the engine is audi but the pedal is r32 so I dont think they are too specific with the way they work. I didnt go for firewall mounted acc' pedal due to the limited clearance with the fuse box on rhd cars. I will include comments already mentioned on V2 of the guide. But in the meantime, please load up more comments and any detailed pictures of the difficult to explain bits. This conversion has sooo many routes to achieve the final result which makes it difficult to write a guide.
  10. Been meaning to do this for a while, and have just got round to putting something together. I've literally dumped in as much info as I could remember so it may not be in readable condition (I havent even proof read it) but with your help I'm sure we can come up with a good guide for the engine conversion. So here goes..... p.s if you add any changes, please make it so that I can see whats been done, thanks Edit: 22/01/2011: Uploaded PDF version V2 of the guide due to word docuent being 9mb! V2 of the guide now include links, photos, better details as well as requesting donations to the Corrado Forum for the amount of work put into this. Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdf
  11. Ive got a draft version of a guide on fitting the r32 engine to a corrado. Its still in development but I could do with some of you who have do the conversion to read through and add comments or details where necessary. Any volunteers? viewtopic.php?f=45&t=95800#p1103196
  12. Been quite busy lately and havent really done much with the car except for getting the rev counter to work and partly wiring in the centre cosole gauge. Spent most of this afternoon extracting as much info as I can from my r32 conversion and putting it into a word document. I think Im halfway there, will be asking for a few of you to proof read through once Im done. When fully happy Ill publish it onto the forum.
  13. What about Gaz Gold? They sound pretty good and have good reviews, Rob aka herisitis is about to have them fitted.
  14. yep, had it in mind :) What I needed to know is if wheel nuts will bolt ok correctly if I shave about 0.5 - 1cm eeek! I dont know for certain the thickness of the rear discs but I would guesse they are roughly 8mm thick on the mating surfice (can anyone confirm?). If your hoping to take off at least 50mm you may run into issues. General rule for thread engagement is 1.5xD.
  15. there isn't enough material to take off and keep the necessary thread engagement, you might have to consider pulling the arches out slightly or if possible play around with the ET of the wheel?? Rumour has it that the 16v rear beam is narrower than the vr6 but it's not been confirmed.

    R32 sump

i will have to check mine 'cus Im sure it looked higher that the subframe, but I did also drop the rear of the engine by an inch to allow for the dubpower exhaust to work without clashing on anything The sumps do shatter, my mate had an r32 sump on his vr. we ended up hitting a tree sump and suffice to say it shattered well but that was an extreme impact. it left shards of ali in the tree stump
  17. didnt realise, sorry. Ill take it withouth bit and tap. Already have them. Just a quick question, why not use pop rivets?
  18. I bought the bracket from vw to fit the pedal but on inspection of the pedal I found that the clips on the tabs had broken so I fitted the pedal through the hole at the rear of the pedal and use that threaded brass type thing thats under the carpet to secure it down. Not perfect but holds it for now until I can get an new pedal. The brass thingy was originally used on the car to hold the pedal travell stop, as its no longer needed for drive by wire I used it to secure the new pedal.
  19. lol, Ive seen a slammed one down on Oundle Rd, is that yours? Never seen it driven though. I have no idea how you guys get round the area being lower than me. Im sure ive took off a few times on some of the bumps around here! :gag: It seems like there are a few guys around Peterborough with corrado's. Would be good to create a mini meet and may cruise to shows together?
  20. im sure i read somewhere that both the rallye and the mk2 floor pan needed narrowing around the edges to fit.
  21. We have broken corrados  It does appear so  but who hasnt I may not have the same issue as you but, I looked at both arches and both appear to be late spec, all bushes are new and subframe looks ok (just need to confirm), top mounts seem tight so Im out of ideas. Dont go changing et of the wheels this will screw up the handling, having one side tucked in more than the other isnt a biggy just annoying.
  22. saw what appeared to be a vr6 up in Stamford, looked pretty tidy and standard and in green.
