Cheers both, How difficult is it to change the bushes and top mount? Ball joints look fine with no play. Does anyone have a picture / diagram of the lower arm and respective bushes? Also best place to get 'em from?

Well, had my G60 for less than a week, and tonight was my first cahnce since the weekend to have a blast. Anyway, I've noticed on gear change (depressing clutch) following hard acceleration I get a funny sensation from the offside front wheel as though I've just skipped on a pot hole or road imperfection accompanied with a knock sound. When I got home, I noticed the near side front brake was binding (disk almost glowing). I don't mind sorting the calipers out - the car has been standing for a while so I expect niggles, but is it possible that the knock / skip sensation from the offside is connected with the binding nearside brake or is it something completely different? Please help!

Yeah it's very dark but the service book does say LC3Y though Nipped over to see the folks on Sunday & my mum thought it was brown - it was peeing it down though! I like the idea with the rubber hangers veedub. Roll on the weekend

Derbyshire, Took the air filter off last night to check it had been replaced at the service - it stank of manure!!! I just love the countryside...

Cheers for all the comments Well the VR6 / G60 one was a tough one. I drove a VR I wanted a VR, I drove a G60 I wanted I G60. With the money I spent I could have bought a latish VR, but nothing in my life is straight forward so there you go! At least I'll only be using it as a second car, so I shouldn't rack up too many miles on it. IOW, I had a look at the exhaust and it's very close to the rear beam wotsit, even when the car is unloaded, so I hope that's the problem.
-
It sure does - just can't wait till the weekend to get it all sorted!
-
Thanks! Burgundy or purple - LC3Y (Sad or what knowing the colour code) Just need to get the exhaust sorted & get rid of that 'orrible window tint! Also have a momo Champion wheel to fit to replace the bus like original. Happy days!
-
Thanks m8014 it is then!
-
Cheers all Just opened the boss kit up and there's a sticker saying remove splined bush from column before fitting. Hmmm Will take it back tomorrow & demand an explanation. Cars eh?
-
Thanks guys, Well my 'all original' illusion has just been shattered - my car has the later door cards! Perhaps I didn't do enough research after all!!! Whipped it off tonight to find the old 6 way connector loom and an 8 way pin-out on the switch. Will cut the connector off and use spade crimps directly onto the switch as per the knowledge base! Connectors hanging off the window switch & speaker so they are now sorted. Nice to see some quality JBL speakers in there too. Will get some piccies up at the w/e once I've got it all back together. Cheers

Went to fit my nice new Momo steering wheel to my even newer G60 yesterday, but I came up against a bit of a problem. The Mountney steering boss supplied by Halfrauds fits the steering wheel nicely, but the spline on the steering column (1” approx) is too big for the boss. I understand that there are two spline diameters on the steering column depending on the year of manufacture. Can anyone tell me which version I have. The boss is M237X if it helps… Ta in advance

Well after 3 months of searching and advice from this forum, I'm now the owner of a totally standard G60 with cream leather and just 68K on the clock! Really chuffed! Have a few queries though if anyone can help me with:- On mild acceleration I can hear a knocking / resonance which I think is coming from the exhaust pipe where it passes over the rear beam. Had a quick look and there appears to be red rust (dust) on the exhaust pipe where its been rubbing on the rear axle beam. How big a job is it to get the exhaust clearance correct on these cars? Drivers side elec window, speaker and mirror adjustment don't work. I suspect a simple wiring fault. Any ideas? The previous owner had window tints fitted, how easy are they to remove as a couple are beginning to bubble? That's about it - but it's a great car. Cheers in advance

Just bought a Momo Champion for £45 from Halfrauds today. It has suede at the top too and is 350mm. A nice dark grey centre to match the colour of the dash. Only prob is that the horn push says 'Ripspeed' - but not for long though. All I need now is aCorrado to go with it - arrives Friday hopefully!

Well I tried for that VR. Rang the guy every day (even twice a day) so I could go & see it as soon it came in being local to me. He was so busy he didn't have time to collect the car. In the end he took a deposit from a guy who didn't even view the car despite all my efforts. Just a shame that I was doing all the running... At the end of the day I was a bit miffed, and do I really want to buy a car (the g60) from a guy who takes p/ex's from main dealers and sells them on at a profit? Would much prefer to buy a car from an enthusiast. I know this stinks of cut off your nose to spite your face but I have principles. Phew, I'll get my coat.

Up to £5K could stretch further Have set myself (probably unrealistic) requirements: Must have leather and sub 90K miles If a G60 it must be a facelift. To be honest, the thought of owning a tweaked g60 is what I want but the car must look std. I can't explain why, but that's it! Still waiting on a car local to me that fits the bill, but I'm starting to get a bit restless now.

Love the colour (silver) Just need leather though.

Thank you both. Thats what I'm thinking.

Evening all, My quest to own a Corrado is nearly complete. After initially wanting a VR, I've decided to go for a G60. The quality of the VRs just didn't meet expectations. The car I'm interseted in is 100% standard G60, full leather, 92 K plate and has about 60K on the clock, metallic burgundy and in excellent condition The question is, what the going rate for typical G60s of this std. Just curious. Thanks in advance

Bought a grown-up corrado-Audi Coupe :) Help Needed

http://www.audifans.net Really good guys. Central locking is pneumatic. The pump is in the boot near the filler cap. Check the wiring to the pump, I think its a 3 wire changeover connection for each door open-common-close. If the pump is working, you may have a leak in your pipe! -

They're great cars. Just sold my 2.6 V6 with a view to buying a Corrado! Built like tanks, zinc galvanised - really good. Easy check is run the engine, check the battery volts, should be 14V or there abouts, put on all your electrics, volts should dip and recover. A nice pulley noise with the alternator loaded indicates it's doing the right thing - converting all that mechanical energy to electrical. What is your battery voltage with just the ignition on? -

I had a long suffereing problem on my V6 where the alternator power lead was rubbing on the sub frame causing the occasional short whenever I accelerated! the result was a sudden drop in battery volts and the two lights flashing on the dash - as if the ignition was on but engine off. What's the voltmeter reading with the engine running and lights on? Should be 13.8V -

The brake & cooling lights flash on the dash when the engine is off. The low battery voltage will also cause the same effect. Did you still have PAS? The V6 Coupe also uses a brake 'bomb' which is pressurised from the engine as opposed to vacuum servo. What model do you have? -
Cheers, I have spent many hours trawling thru the forums - I'm still none the wiser! I'm gonna have to make a decision pretty damn quick!

Well I've been offered a very late (92K) low mileage & standard G60 through a friend of my brother who knows his stuff I haven't viewed it yet, but I've been told by the owner that it has leather. The question is did the G60 list leather as an option? Just curious. I was initially in the market for a VR6, but having driven a G60, I quite like the rawness in comparisson. Decisions decisions! Can anyone tell me the relative pro's & cons between the two? The intention is that it will only be used on dry weekends for fun. I think that's why I have the attraction towards the G60. Can't wait either way though!
