  1. This is getting very tempting... If my better half finds out how much I've spent recently she'll.....
  2. I've just put it down to old age!
  3. Jabba option is twice the Price of G-Werks one. Why? Also, is it worth fitting one to a non-ported charger (with 68mm pulley & chip)? As ever, just curious.
  4. Throw some AutoGlym machinery cleaner over your engine and work in the grubby areas with a paint brush. Rinse with a water via a watering can and you end up with this:- Not the best pics though.
  5. Cheers Darren, Thank Rob for his help re. the my hide puzzle & also mention to him he didn't put any stickers with the invoice!!!
  6. My local indie gave the car a once over about 5 months ago and he said it was looking weak. And very recently, I'm feeling the engine 'move' when I take up drive. Also had new front mount, top mounts and wishbone bushes very recently - so it aint any of those (i hope). Where is the best place to take the weight of the engine?
  7. Mine feels a bit week, so it's time to change it. How big a job is it? Any pointers much appreciated Ta
  8. Well fitted them last w/e and had the alignment done today. A really easy job, although I had to take the rears off again to reposition the damper circlip to get the desired height. I cannot believe how good the ride quality is, not crashy at all and if anything it feels much better than the original. What amazes me, is the cost - only £65 a corner - just how do they do it???
  9. Well looking at the picture of the shock on the side of the box, the black cap fits over the end of the shock. The fronts already have theirs fitted
  10. Whilst on the subject of bump stops, which is the best end to shave the 40mm off top or bottom?
  11. BC How did find the Weitec kit ride-wise?
  12. Right then, My Weitec Ultra GT kit arrived today courtesy of G-Werks. Before I dive in feet first and try and fit it, I have a couple (well quite a few questions) that I’m hoping some of you suspension experts can help me out with! Apologies for the level of questions, as I suspect a lot of this will become apparent when I take it all to bits. Before I get shot down in flames, I’ve done a bit of a search, but I found a couple of contradictory posts on the subject. 1. The rear shocks come with a bag of bits, a lower spring cup (which I believe slides down the shock and locates above the big circlip on the shock body), 3 M10 (ish) nuts, a black cap and a red top-hat type plastic thing (see photo). What are these bits for? 2. Do I need to compress the rear springs to get them off? 3. Do I need the car on it wheels before I finally tighten the rear top / bottom mounts? 4. For the fronts is the correct sequence slacken top mount with deep spanner & Allen key, compress spring, unbolt from carrier? 5. Refitting the reverse of the above? & do I need to locate the start of the new spring in the same position as the old one in the top mount? I Will take some photos and do a little write-up if not done before. Cheers Nick
  13. Cheers guys, Tempest, I work in Rugby so the Cov solution looks good to me!
  14. Waiting for my Weitec kit Ultra (40mm) to be delivered. When I get it fitted, I reckon I've got a 50 mile or so treck to Stealth to get it all alligned. As I don't really want to chew-up my nice & new tyres driving there, is there a DIY camber gauge out there which can be hired for the day so I can get it roughly set up? Or am I worrying too much? How much could the camber be out degree-wise? Ta
  15. Yes the trimsport badge is a different colour (orange rather than red) I swapped both badges on the back to make it look consistent
  16. Yep car will run fine w/o the lambda - mine did for nearly 3 months!
  17. Cheers for the positive feedback. Makes it feel all worthwhile. Must admit though, when you've been working on the car for so long, you only see the bad bits rather than the ggod. Does this make sense?
  18. Thanks all, No it's the later interior. I know - it took be bloody ages to sort the elec mirrors!
  19. Thanks, No the carpet is light grey, which I actually quite like. If a cream carpet comes up then I may be interested - but it would have to be in as good or even better condition than the one already fitted!!! Also I think suspension is the next priority!
  20. Well, after nearly 4 months of ownership, I’ve decided to go public with my C. Purchased at the end of March, I bought what I thought was an immaculate low mileage G60 with cream leather etc… Only now after 4 months of hard graft, I feel proud enough to show her off. Lowlights:- ? New cambelt ? New Top mounts ? New Wishbone bushes ? New Bump Stops ? New brake balancer & rear brake pipes ? Seized front N/S calliper ? Re-hang exhaust ? Sort Lambda control ? Sort ignition / timing ? + loads more Highlights:- ? Clear side repeaters ? Headlight upgrade ? Detailed engine bay ? New s/wheel ? New G-Werks chip, pulley, oil feed and oil cooler ? New Falcon Alarm The car had been on a SORN for 3 years and thus a lot of work that I’ve carried out has been to rectify stuff due to the car not being correctly stored. One of the most disappointing aspects was the quality of some of the remedial paintwork, which I didn’t spot when I bought it. Anyway, I have spent the past week flatting back the paint and polishing to remove unwanted gremlins in the lacquer topcoat and the results are bloody impressive. At last I have a car to be proud of – considering I was contemplating cutting my losses only a month ago. I know she has nothing on some of the wonderful machines owned by other Forum members – but I’m happy!
  21. Looks impressive - I didn't know the Covin existed until...now! Pehaps my next car will be an 80's 911.
  22. The piccie on ebay shows some securing screws and rubber washers or similar. Have paint, laquer & and all prep stuff, so could be quite cost effective for me.
  23. How's that Link wise? I suppose you pays your money you takes your choice - or words to that effect
  24. I'm after a grill / eyebrow spoiler. Lots of options, yet not sure which way to turn. Saw this on Ebay, looks Ok & made from ABS. http://url.the-corrado.net/fd8ad7 Anybody bought from these guys? What about Uk alternatives? Ta
