  1. ooh, I'd not thought of Jim... Not spoken to him in a while, I'll have to make contact and see if he'll do it once I get all the goodies over from J-DUB... 8)
  2. that's one knackered car.... I'd bet that the leather's shafted too on the door cards and that the seat frames have bent too if it's bent the dash that much! :| RIP storm... :(
  3. yup, unbolt your G60 clutch and throw it in the bin. Bolt in your new VR6 clutch and off you go! 8)
  4. The camshafts on Corrados don't wear much at all... The tappets are designed to wear rather than the camshaft, so you can just replace the tappets with no worries and use the original cam. Mine was found to be still within factory tollerances after over 250K miles! :| 8) (the tappets were shagged though! )
  5. AlanG, where are you based and what colour is your car? Woody's got 2 slam panels for sale, I've also got one. I'm pretty certaint that Blue_Joe has a black front bumper skin for sale, and if you put up a WANTED advert, you'll probably get the parts PDQ! 8)
  6. Ignore the numbers on the water temp gauge... the calibration of 'em is utter pants! :| If you want it to work a little better, you should probably change the gauge's water temp sensor...
  7. I take it you've changed the throttle cable?!?

    Radiator Replacement

I did this the morning of the MK meet... Take off the grill and take out the headlights. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the rubber boost hose between the charger and pipe to the intercooler. Cover the boost hoses with rubber gloves to prevent anything falling into them. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the wiring to the fan and fan switch and get it right out of the way. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the 2x 10mm headed bolts either side at the FRONT of the radiator and the 1x 8mm headed bolt on the driver's side right down at the bottom. (you can get access with a ratchet extension through the lower bumper grill) This will allow you to remove all of the plastic mouldings around the radiator. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the 4x bolts (10mm headed) which hold the fan cowling onto the radiator (you may have to take the battery off to get at one of 'em...) and then take the fan and cowling off in one piece. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the 2x 10mm bolts from the slam panel and lever out the rad mount brackets from the top of the radiator. [/*:m:47cf8] Remove the top and bottom hoses (prepare to swear at the lower one as it'll be a little sod to get off! :| ) The radiator will now lift out if you lift from the passenger side firstand kinda twist it out of the gap... [/*:m:47cf8] Re-fitting is pretty much the reversal of taking it out. [/*:m:47cf8] I didn't bother putting the plastic bits back onto the front of the radiator, but mine's gonna have the full Golf G60 intercooler on it soon with the engine I built for J-DUB, so there was no point in re-fitting 'em again... ;)

    leathers value

depends on the condition of the leather... I just sold a good, early, black set of heated leather which could do with a little TLC and a drivers bolster foam without looms/switches for £650... Better condition and later ones should fetch a bit more, so I'd be tempted to put it up for between £800 and £100... the bit that's gonna let it down by the sounds of things is the rear cards if they've been altered to fit speakers... :|
  10. I'm currently in talks with a local radiator/intercooler fabricator who is having a good look at my Golf G60 intercooler with a mind to making a few the same size/shape up... anyone be interested?
  11. ah-ha! Found it... 8) blue/white = Speed sensor feed brown/red = Ignition live black = +12v to aerial amplifier (switched feed from head unit) grey/blue = illumination feed (to turn on head unit illumination when the lights are switched on) red/white = permanent live brown = earth speaker wiring as per this diagram http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=5584
  12. black red should be ignition live IIRC... There's a post I wrote a while ago in reply to a post by Ka' which had all of the wiring colours on it...
  13. does the blower work on the 4th speed only, or none of 'em?
  14. make sure they're about 800x600 pixels... I'll put odds on that they're too big... ;)
  15. yup, just no time to take piccys... She's now on a set of 16x7.5 Borbet C wheels, and has a "slightly better" stereo than she had before... A new radiator and headlights (+ loom) have also been fitted as well as a set of smoked FK rear lights (which look WAY better than I thought they would!) 8) Pics as soon as I wash her 'cos she's flithy at the moment...
  16. it's a doddle to fix that bulb yourself... less than 1 hour and only 2 screwdrivers needed... 8)
  17. The springs in the spring plate and the damper springs on the friction plate are slightly uprated on the VR6 clutch (did a comparison of 2 next to each other when I did my G60 rebuild... ;) )
  18. No idea mate, as I said, I had a complete VR6 gearbox which Vince stripped and swapped the bits over to my G60 gearbox for me 'cos gearbox internals scare me... :|
  19. don't know what they're like to be honest... they look nice in the pics though... 8)
  20. it's mainly labour that's needed.... the parts will only cost you a few pounds at the max, but you're probably looking at about 4 hours labour for a garage to do it if they'd take it on... :|

    white paint.?

The TOYOTA Corrola white colour from about 1990 is one of the brightest, whitest whites you can get... Don't know the paint code for it though... :|

    Door advice

actually, the later doors have a different part number in Etka, although I'm damned if I know why... :|
  23. I'll lob some piccys up once I get the car cleaned... She's even worse than last weekend now and it rained all this weekend so I couldn't wash her...
