At stealth last year I got 198.2 Lb/Ft with 219Bhp.... With a boost leak and running one tooth out on the cam... This engine will be installed into my new grey G60 shortly with a couple of other little mods done to it too... I'm hoping for around 250BHP and 225 Lb/Ft 8)

I'd guess at: Druck = pressure sender feed 15 = ignition live 31 = earth 58 = lighting (got a crap monitor at work and can't make the writing out... )
-
best person to talk to is Daz about that one... ;) If you gave Daz the info on your engine, then it'll be the right chip for your engine... 8) How much oil is it burning?
-
I could be wrong here (I don't know the VR6 engine too well) but couldn't this be caused by a dead knock sensor causing the ECU to make that bank of cylinders run rich? I know that the VR6 has 2 knock sensors, and this is exactly the kinda thing I'd make an ECU do if I were to design it... ;)
-
Majik, knock sensor, blue temp sender, Hall sensor, lambda sensor and ECU -> Throttle body vacuum hoses are the common ones that mess up on a G60... hummm... that's pretty much every sensor on a G60...

If a mk4 tdi has the d and i in red, what bhp is it????
Henny replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
and just to throw in another one, my Dad's Leon is a 110bhp PD engine as are all of our company Golfs... (Dad keeps me away from his Leon now he knows I fancy putting one of the PD engines in J-DUB...) -
Ice White Socks, no idea mate, never seen one in the flesh! :? What does the writing below the connector say? The contacts are normally marked so you know what they're for... ;)

nice looking car you have there Daddy'C' Glad you find this place useful... I've lost count of how much money this place has saved me since I joined... 8)

ah, could actually be your sidelight bulbs have blown as you would have had dim-dip before so you would not have noticed that they weren't working...
-
check your sidelight fuses... could be as simple as that... ;)
-
Check your tyre pressures... sounds daft, but makes one hell of a difference to how your car handles! ;) Also check that your rear calipers are releasing fully and aren't grabbing at all as well as getting under the car and checking that the rear axle bushes don't look all cracked and flakey (they're dead if they do!)
-
they're fecked... :| I'm thinking of deleting them completely and doing something a little different seeing as there's a little bit of rust around them anyway... ;)

Yes, yes it should make any car it's in plenty quick... ;) -
fla, The MASItaly wheels will be for sale shortly... I just need to get my butt into gear and put together a load of adverts for a load of parts I have going spare... The red badge will shortly be repainted black... and then removed completely along with all rear end badges when she goes into the body shop to sort out the little niggles with the paint and the small dents... ;) 8)

You need an Earth, Ignition live, dashboard lights live and a wire feeding through to the engine bay to connect to the oil pressure sender.
-
have you had the car chipped for the engine it now has in it, or are you using a default SNS "off the shelf" chip, and are you running the engine spec exactly the same as the SNS chip is set up for? It sounds like you're running very rich (as the guys above have already said) or possibly burning a light amount of oil. Did you do anything to the bottom end of the engine when you did the top end rebuild? It's possible that if you haven't then you're passing oil past the piston rings due to the increased pressure caused by having good seals on the valves... How much oil did it use over how long?
-
yup, dizzy is the same as any 1.8 GTI 8V (Rabbit or Golf or Jetta 1 or 2) potatonet, the reason that you're being addressed by name in bold is probably 'cos we're lazy and it's quicker to click on your name in your previous post than to type it... ;) (at least that's why I do it! 8) )

erm, Daz? re-read what I was replying to... :? Am I wrong when I say that as long as the ISV is in good condition and the engine is not pinking or over-boosting (more than the map can handle due to a smaller pulley) then the ISV will not vent boost? (I'm happy to admit that I'm not 100% sure on this, but then, I don't think anyone really is, so please correct me if I am wrong... 8) ) I was VERY careful to not use the word LEAK, a faulty ISV may LEAK boost, but a correctly functioning one should only vent it when the ECU gets a little unhappy with how the engine's running... 8)

chrishill, different set mate... J-Dub's still wearing her slightly battered set... (they are exactly the same though! ;) )

Creative Zen Micro Vs Panasonic Headunit ****UPDATED****
Henny replied to Furkz's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
..it's working 'cos you're back feeding into the amplifier... continue to do that and you'll fry either the MP3 player's amplifier or the head unit (or possibly both!) You REALLY need to plug it into the INput phonos... ;) -
right, time for some updates! 8) She's now on the Borbet C's I had kicking about (like you do) with 205,45,16 Yokohama A539 rubber all around... She's now got a set of Smoked in-pro rear lights. The front seats out of J-DUB are now sat in there (sold the rest of J-DUB's leather with the fronts out of this one to finance this car) The stereo has been upgraded to a Dension MP3 player with a built in 80Gb hard drive, it's now got an infinity Bass Link in the boot and a Jenson amp too.. The tracker has also been installed so I know where she is at all times... 8) She's got a new radiator after the one fitted proved to be the source of the coolant leak and she's about to get a full on service from me next weekend. 8) That's all for now, I'm happy as larry with this one, and I still can't get over the amount of Dynamat I keep finding inside the car! I noticed she was quiet when I test drove her, but having now stripped her out a bit to fit the stereo, there's dynamat EVERYWHERE! :D 8) I really must come up with a catchier name than HYYU though... :| :?

yay! I can update my members gallery now then! :D 8)

yeah, it's got a specific setting which you need to adjust it to when the weight is on the wheels... I think it's something like 12.5 degrees or something... :| Do a search 'cos it's been mentioned in a thread recently... ;)

Scruffythefirst, you're insane... (can I have a go?!? ;) ) Say what you like about the state of this country, but it's still one of only a very few where some nutter like Scruffythefirst, can buy a kit, build it and then legally put it on the road after only a few safety checks... :| Cool! 8)
