  1. it IS a pain in the arse, to be fair... I used a long bent watchmakers screwdriver and plenty of perserverence to get at it, and that worked a treat... I have no idea on how else you could do it though... :|
  2. Makes no difference in a Corrado, Kongo... The hot air flap in a Corrado only controls the air through the heater matrix, the hot water always goes through it, so it doesn't matter which position the heater controls are in as you fill it...
  3. Feck! You jammy get! 8) Good for you mate! glad to hear you got away with it... 8) Exhaust valves = £14.30 each (non-genuine from Euro) Inlet valves = £5.90 each (non-genuine from Euro) Total cost = £161.60 for all 16 :?
  4. As sideways as possible?!? Remember, the best handling car you'll ever drive is a hire car... ;) 8)
  5. Happy Birthday Tom! Have a good one! 8) :drinking:
  6. Blue Storm yesterday (Tuesday) at around 1:30 in the Salford Quays area of Manchester heading from White City towards the Quays... Looked dirty, but sounded excellent! 8) I was the annoying get in the black Punto who was all over the back end of your car and who eventually managed to get past you... ;)
  7. pump is MUCH better to use and much cheaper in the long run... 8)
  8. on my old MKI you could bypass the immobiliser by indicating right, pulling the main beam stalk and turning the ignition on... Feck knows why, but it always amused me...

    URGENT HELP NEEDED

    I was gonna suggest Demon-Tweeks down in Wrexham... they've just sent me a pair of 205 45 16 YokoA539s for £120... 8)
  11. 30Lb flywheel? Sheeeeeeiiiiiitttt, that's gonna make some difference dropping it by 24Lb! 8)
  12. 1/3 of a gallon... (ask a stupid question... ;) )
  13. If it were my car, I know I could probably get that done in an afternoon and evening on axle stands in my garage... The worst bit is lifting the gearbox back in and getting the drive flanges on the diff to clear the rear of the engine/engine bay... much easier if there's 2 people working on that bit if it's on axle stands... 8) Only bit I missed off is that you'll have to take the front engine mount and gearbox mount off to get the box and engine to swing enough to drop the box out, so have at least 2 trolley jacks and an assistant nearby to help with the heavy bits... gearboxes hurt when they land on you...  On the plus side, it could be the perfect time to change the clutch while you're in there! ;)
  14. Sunday 20th February 2005 near staffordshire university http://www.dubfreeze.co.uk
  15. it's a gearbox out, clutch out, flywheel off, seal out, new seal in, flywheel back, clutch on, and gearbox re-fit job I'm afraid to say... :| Not a quick job, but nothing too nasty in there if you're not afraid to have a go yourself and have some decent tools and space to work in... 8)
  16. FK koni coilovers ... that's what my new one will be having... 8)
  17. How about doing an Academic year (August to August?) or even a financial year (April to April) calendar? Gives us a little more time to sort out the pics?!? 8)
  18. Pic looks good to me... 8) Nice looking 'rocco in the reflection too! 8)
  19. Personally I intend to get some nice new stainless steel braided ones from http://www.Thinkauto.com when mine die... 8)
  20. 1 is the plug on the left of the car as you look from the front of the car. The firing order is 1342 on ALL in-line 4 cylinder VW engines. 8)
  21. chrishill, nope, they're MKIII lifters and you DO need to drill some holes to fit 'em (trust me on this one, that's why J-DUB had the wing mounts in, but not the actual lifters 'cos I was too scared to actually drill the holes! )
  22. what wheel have you damaged? Is it not possible to get a single replacement? :|
  23. Both cars have VERY similar standard power outputs and similar acceleration and top speeds, even though the Rallye engine is a few CCs smaller than the Corrados... 65mm will give you around 200bhp if the charger is in good condition, or leave you with a bill for a new charger and possibly an engine strip down if it's not in good condition... :| Get the charger seen to before sticking a small pulley on it and you'll be fine... 8) Personally, I'd go for a Corrado over a Rallye every day, the Rallye looks like a golf with a body kit on it, the Corrado looks like nothing else on the roads... 8)
  24. there isn't a cold start injector on a G60...
  25. yeah yeah, I was looking at the pub AFTER the bridge, not the one before it that you actually turned into!  It was well under control and I never thought for a second that I was gonna hit you... Oh, and I actually locked all 4 wheels at the time!
