*google* "RWD + V6 + built in germany"

ah feck Gaz... that's a total sh!tter.... Glad you're OK though... As Nige says, sue for uninsured losses mate... clear case that it's not your fault so you'll get the insurance payout straight away to put into another car, but you should sue for the lost work, time and effort put into the car which will drag on a while, but you'll already have had the payout for the initial loss and just be going for more money to make up for the loss of your one of a kind ( ;) ) car... I know that if the driver of the car that pulled out in front of me and wrote J-DUB off hadn't of lied her tits off in her statement, that's exactly what I'd have done... ;)

CaiosG60 PWR TVR Cerbera - New SS Exhaust P5
Henny replied to CaiosG60 PWR's topic in Members Gallery
'lo Cai, good to see you back on here. Sorry to hear about your Dad... Cerb looks lovely... I'd love one some day... 8) Can't wait to see it in the flesh if you bring it to a show sometime... :) -
have you checked the oil level? Sounds to me that you may be hearing the tappets complaining about having no oil in 'em if it's rattling and sounding like it's pinking at idle... :| Crasher? Are the KS bearings the Diesel MKIII ones?
-
:iamwithstupid: shaking2: If you're gonna change the exhaust, stick a full stainless one on...
-
odds are you are now the proud owner of a G60 with a dead lambda sensor... :| By all reports, the dodgy fuel is killing lambdas which is what is causing the bad running, but the engines themselves should be fine as long as they've not been allowed to over-heat (causing the head gaskets to blow)... If you've got the receipt for the fuel, you can go and jump up and down at them and they should pay for a replacement sensor + fitting... ;) Otherwise it's a trip to GSF for one (under £50 IIRC)
-
...I dunno if you'll actually get anyone on here to buy it... most people on here know that if you're gonna get a chip, SNS is the way to go.... :| As walesy says, ebay it and hope... :)

ALL Corrados except for the 1.8 16V have lambda sensors and they were bosch from the factory... They vary in costs from around £30 to £80 depending on supplier and make (and if it's got the correct connector on the end or just bare wires)... I'm trying to find out more through our newsroom about what's actually wrong with the fuel after having to correct them when they were saying that "the fuel is damaging the engine control units"... how exactly? are they pouring it onto them and setting fire to them? Damaging engine sensors maybe, but not the actual ECU!

clean up the cabling and earths... if that doesn't cure it, probably time for a new motor... :|

just as a side note to this one... if you're going to re-stick a mirror to the windscreen, make sure you take the metal mounting bracket off the mirror and glue only this bit onto the windscreen. Leave it taped onto the windscreen for a couple of days to give the glue time to set and then re-attach the mirror to the mount. (the mirror twists to the side to reveal the mount which is glued to the windscreen.) ;)

you haven't recently filled up at a supermarket fuel pump have you? CLICKY!

 you REALLY didn't like them, did you Daz?!?

I'll lock this one, please use the link in the post above... 8)

he won't say yet... think much bling and some more colour coding are in order as well as some new boost pipes... :)
-
on some cars the horns were down in the right hand side just behind the bumper... Running temps sound about right to be honest... nothing to get worried about there... 8)
-
yup, another vote for the Momo Race here too... lovely subtle wheel with a nice feel to it too... 8)
-
yup, I'm with coolrado on this one... :)
-
yup, the valver DOES have tappets... 16 of the feckers... It's not too difficult to change 'em (cambelt off, inlet manifold off, cam cover off, cams out, swap 'em over and put it back together again...) and it's worth changing the cam chain while you're in there... Costs? are you sitting comfortably? £6.50 each from GSF... yup £104 for the set... :|

got a Nokia bluetooth handsfree kit built into J-DUB and a Motorola one in H-YYU (although that's probably going to get fitted to the 'rat...)
-
nnniiiccceee.... 8) Can't wait to hear this baby run... :)
-
that's the BEFORE pic of Matt's engine... he'd just got it painted and ready to go over to Holland last year when that pic was taken... The AFTER pic will look even better as he's aiming to take that bay to "the next level"... 8) There's no reason you can't do that to a 'rado bay... I know 'cos I've considered doing it to J-DUB while she's in bits waiting for me to make my mind up as to what to do to her... ;)
-
just for those of you who can't be bothered to go over to Dubforce...

the KR I put into my MKI gave 155bhp and other than a Webber throttle body and running a seat ibiza dizzy (vacuum advance/retard) to ditch the electronics, it was standard... Oh, and it would have made more, except the fuel pump was on its way out so it was running (very) lean... CNC heads have a pretty much standard valver running some silly numbers with just one of their heads and some fuelling mods, so there's plenty you can do to a valver to get the power upp'd a bit... ;)
