I am sooooo glad I've got a garage to keep my C in... I feel for you guys... people like that really make me want 'em to bring back public flogging... Seeing a few of the little scroats getting flogged in public would stop just about all of 'em doing it for good!

Beetle 'cos it looked like one! (honestly!) In Germany it's known as a Kafer which is German for Beetle! Jetta? Bora? Vento? (gotta be a windy name that one! ;) )

Doesn't bother me... My G60's all correct, so is my MKI and my Driver, and I've got all the docs to prove I scrapped my old 16V 'Rado which has the dodgy entry... 8)

As in the Porsche/VW 914?!? :? :pukeright: I've worked on a few of these things... they couldn't work out if it was a Porsche or a VW... VW said it was Porsche's fault, Porsche said it was VWs....

it's normally the slave that goes first...

Henny replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
works perfectly for me... :? -
I'm planning on making up a couple of support brackets to fit the IC... I don't think I'm going to attach it to the rad at all 'cos I want it to sit lower than the rad due to the RS front bumper I've got... 8)

you're not the first to tell me that...

 It's one of the best and most useful ASCII descriptions I've ever come across! 8) I'll start crediting you for your "art" if you like...

aarrgghh! G60 is on a 2001 BMW 530 Diesel! :pukeright:  That's just not right...

you may be better off getting the clocks re-calibrated... get some stickers for the clocks (or print your own!) and then send 'em off to somewhere like digi-dash.com who can calibrate them for miles and change the rev-counter to read upto a higher top figure... 8) It's not cheap, mind, but you'll know that your milage/ speed is spot on and have a rev-counter that works upto the redline of your engine... 8)

After England has now stuffed the Italians, I've taken the photo as promised... 8) I hadn't realised just how BIG the Golf G60 intercooler actually is until I took this photo! It's a beast! 8) :D :D

dead easy... Take off the passenger side loewer dash tray and you can see it behind some plastic/rubber insulation stuff. To take the fan out, there's a tab that needs to be persuaded over a lump, and the fan just turns about 20degrees and drops out of the ductwork. There's also an electrical connector on the side of it that you need to remove. If it's squeeking, the odds are the bearings are shot and you'll need a new fan. They're not that expensive (GSF and Euro both do 'em) and they're the same as one from a MKII golf. DO NOT throw away the elecrical connector off the fan though! That's the resistor pack and is corrado only! It's also stupidly expensive to replace! :| Should take you about 45 mins to take out and put a new one in. 8)

Not quite... The in/out end tanks are different bore sizes, but I'm pretty certain that the actual core is the same. 8) I've got one off a G60 golf to go onto my 'rado. I've not yet worked out how I'm gonna fit it yet, in fact, I've not even offered it up to the rad to compare them!  I'll compare them after the rugby's finished and let you know. 8)

Tesco's do one in a nice plastic box that fit perfecly and are in date for a couple of years.... Any that you buy from Ebay and the like are out of date now, so what's the point?!?

yeah, that car has got to handle like a serious piece of $~!t around a track/ A-road corners with that setup! IMHO if you're gonna go with Carbon bits, paint 'em (there's not much weight in paint!) and go the stealth way... Black carbon on a nicely painted Corrado just makes it look like you can't drive and have hit something/someone recently and haven't had time to sort the paintwork out... If your car is for shows only, then yeah, I can understand it, but otherwise, it's a road car... what's the point unless you've stripped every last comfort outta the interior?!? :| p.s. that's a small front mount... wait 'til you see what I've got there! ;)

It wont work basically because the red filter is the last one it goes through. the filter will only allow red light to pass through it. what you need to do is tint the lights in strips of red, very thin, and then the clusters will shine orange and look red due to the way colours act with light. Ah.... That makes sense... Sorry Kev... sounds like the beer was talking before my brain kicked in....

popping = over fuelling... :? The extra fuel blows out through the exhaust and hits the hot manifold/ cat / exhaust and ignites = flames and pop... It may also be a sign of a dead lambda sensor, as these help the G60 management control the fuelling... :| IMHO it'd be worth putting an Air/fuel meter on it and seeing what's going on throughout the rev range, and possibly getting a custom rolling road setup done on the chip... It's what mine's getting once it's bedded in, and I've not done anything as fundamental as a 20Vt...

The bumpers won't show it up much... It's the wings / bonnet gap that'd show it up if you swapped one, but not the other... :| If you have the earlier bumpers, you've got the earlier fogs/indicators at the front which won't fit without modification into the later bumpers... IIRC (I've never done it myself!) It's not a difficult mod to do though...
