Just put the hose on the car and couldn't get the windscreen to leak at all. I then moved to the sunroof and door seals - still nothing. However, when I attacked the roof strips (or whatever they are called), I noticed some damp entering by the passenger side roof handle, not far from the sun visor. Is it possible for water to enter via my VERY corroded roof strips? If so, how much are replecements, or can I just silicone seal them?

Is it worth blasting water at the suspicious corner to see if I can replicate the problem or is that going to be impossible?
-
I doubt it is the sunroof, as the water seems to be dripping onto the top of the door speaker. Becoming more and more confident it's the new windscreen. I heard they were a sod to fit, and even asked the guy if he'd had any experience of fitting a genuine VW one before. He obviously lied and said "yes". Wait 'till I get hold of him.

Quick response appreciate. I'm miffed with the whole thing. I will be down the windscreen fitters promptly, and hope it's that.

I noticed my passenger side carpet was soaking wet the other day. Today, my car had been parked outside in the rain, and I saw some drips on the door panel right on top pf the speaker in the door. I have tried to find the problem and failed. Recently, I had the windscreen replaced (genuine VW) and wondered if this may be the problem since it's now started to shovel down with rain outside. Alternatively, the roof strips seem very worn. Could this be the source of my problem? Could the water find its way to the floor from there? There were some leaves in the scuttle panel under the bonnet, but the vent wasn't blocked. Can anyone suggest the best way to identify my problem please?

Red C (only saw last second) Cyncoed Road in Cardiff. I think you saw me too - I was too slow to say "hi" as I usually do. Sorry m8 -
Can someone tell me what may be wrong. My Alarm fob unlocks the car but the passenger side door doesn't unlock completely. It tries (the door pin moves up) but fails to unlock completely. My guess is that it is a little damp and may fix itself, but I wondered what you experts had to say. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I will try that tmrw cheers guys for ths update replies. 8)

My battery was flat when I came back from holidays and now my alarm does not work at all! When I press the alarm key I hear a very faint bleeping sound if I listen carefully at the alarm unit. I know my remote control battery is fine so what and how do I fix this? Obviously now I have to use a key to open the doors too.

There must be a way of better illuminating the C ones !!

I wish to brighten up the lights of the centre console in my C. They are currently VERY dim. There is some light there, but I was wondering how easy it is to add more. Has anyone else done this already please? Ta.

Don't VW supply these as well as the medikit? I'm sure I read somewhere that they were £20 each.

4 wheel alignment @ Hi-Q costs £25. Fortunately, my m8 works there and does it for nothing for me each time I go for something - even a coffee ! Lucky I guess.

I just bought a new set of leads from VW. They offered me a set for £65, these were the Quantum ones. I asked for Red Beru, and these cost me £114 (ish) after VWCCGB discount. Problem solved - it wasn't the colpack after all !!

Part arrived and fitted. Any coincidence that the other number written on the bag was: VENTIL 95VW 6769 AA ...the 95VW bit seems an incredible coincidence to me anyway.
-
What should the symptoms be if this thing splits in half? Should I notice the difference tomorrow when I fit the new one? I have ordered the Ford Galaxy one today - they cost £21.07 now.
-
Thank you for your superb help. ...off ot Ford tomorrow armed with £21 :D

Can anyone tell me what this is please? (the rubber bit that the arrow is pointing at) ...and maybe how cheap (!) it is to replace? The actual rubber part has perished into 2 halves TIA (again)
