Right, the car sailed through the MOT today, no advisories so happy days. A mechanic walked in pretending to jerk himself off when he looked at the car so I took that as a compliment! lol Found that all my stereo problems were down to the amp and it's now being sent off for repair. £50 just to send it away up front! Hoping undertrays will be finished soon and rear door cards. Took the handbrake handle in to be trimmed as well. I have had problems with my newly fitted door rubber strip as the door card leather is a touch thicker and it lifted the rubber off outside from the inner strip pushing too hard on the glass and ****ed it, so I have a new one ready to go on when she gets repainted. Received my new window from Pat. The people who removed the glass ripped the seal and more glue was used to the rear door card sat futher away and bugged me. So new window, nicely glued in will take care of that. Sold my Eiback rear ARB kit and things feel a bit more road compliant and less firm, going to raise the front up a fraction as its just too low, watching the MOT guy drive onto the ramps whilst im lying on the floor is just not cool. Rear is fine, if anything, might drop the rear a fraction? The down side is in a couple of week, the car is going to be completely repainted. Starting from scratch and having it stripped to metal as I've still got sinkage going on. Its ****ing me off to say the least but now it's down to who pays what between me and the painter but im not giving in. He agreed to repaint the side he just did a few weeks ago and later called saying, for it to be perfect he needs to srip it to metal so that hasnt been discussed further yet but I have since found sinkage on the passenger door and contacted him and he said we will sort something out when I bring the car in. I will more than likely have to remove all interior again and cover up the dash and get an ear ache from her with all the car parts lying around. Even when I wash the car, I get lines in the paint, swirls and thats using snow foam, good soap, soft hand mits, gentle strokes and not going over the same panel more that twice. Im not sure if it has anything to do with the oven not being a proper oven and is heated by a gas heater which contains water? I have to plosh the car afterwards to not see the swirls. When I saw the paint job just after it was painted the paint looked dull/flat and I wasn't best pleased. After it was all polished up it was gleaming but surely it should look better straight out of the gun? Used Standox paint which Im told is very good quality.... The pinter keeps saying that as he didnt do all the prep he cant guarantee someone elses work but I brought the car in 3 quarters primered and flatted back and he said he needed to re primer it as the lines werent accurate and used a blue paint, not mystic and primered the car. I thought a lighter primer should be used to give the colour plenty of depth but the colour is deep enough. He did you some base coat in the lacquer to give that extra glissen so not sure if I should just get him leave it as standard mystic. Any advise on the above is appreciated. Now the painter is saying he wont paint another car if he hasnt done the prep and was happy to do the side but I dont think that was him doing the bare metal respray to that side if you get me? Eitherway, Ive spent an arm and a legg and its just not in my nature to give up. Rear brake shields now fitted. New battery fitted. new JL mono amp for sub.

Ahh, the sunroof! Mine did exactly the same, brand new paint job, said to the painter, can you open the roof so I know it's back together properly. Then 2 seconds later, 2 dirty great big scratches! He repainted the sunroof and tried again and it scratched. So 3rd time lucky, he removed more paint incase it was too much paint and started again and manage to adjust it enought and it clears fine. Also had the issue of the panel inside becoming dislodged. It's the last thing you need once you spent an age making it all nice and smart. I managed to push the panel in enough and the clips latched on and since then it's been fine. The trim that covers the surround, the horrible grey one, mine was covered like how your is and this made the roof struggle a bit because it was new and a bit of tucking in etc sorted that. I'm sure it's the combined paint, new outer sunroof seal and newly trimmed items which make everything that bit tighter. How are you getting on with it now? Or have you used brick and cliff get out clause? I'm just like you, get very ratty with the car when things don't work. I'm quite placid otherwise. I feel your frustration when you can't fit everything back in because something else is stopping you. Regarding the seatbelt cover head clips, I'm planning the same, nice touch. How does the trim look in the flesh? Are you happy you went with the holed alcantara over something smooth? I painted my visor clips, it looks better than grey but the paint does rub off a bit until new ones can be made or found in black. I am not keen on the grab handle though or pussy handle as it's otherwise known. Think you should leave standard or trim the lot. It just looks like you had a bit spare and got carried away! Like someone I know very well.... Me! Love the lights and attention to detail, super job. Really looks like a nice face lift as the rado lights have always looked a bit sleepy. You are one talented chap though from what you have done. You should be proud of that! Car looks like a keeper Rams

Really need a power steering bottle bracket if you have one? With or without the bottle. Also seat belt trims at rear where belts go through and covers for securing nuts that mount belts to C pillars. Need 2/3 of them... Cheers Rams -
Your keen to get that thing charged up! Will sound Great I'm sure. Where did you find/buy the charger kit? Going to have to find an engine soon to keep up!

Looks good, makes them appear bigger as you see the spoke more clearly with the definitive edge.

It's coming along nicely mate, Good to bump into you the other day at chubbys, the hid lights are bright! Think the roof looks smart too, the pics make it look perfect so it must be a good job. Re the curry night, John Croozin prefers Wednesday or Thursday evenings so if you have a preferred date for a curry meet we can extend the invitations.

When I ordered mine they did ask questions about psi and at what stage it needs to alert. Your sender is Warning you at low revs as the rating of the sender is to make that alert. When you rev, pressure increases and the sender is thinking its within parameters and doesn't alert. So 16VG60 has probably hit the nail on the head!

I am thinking it might be the connection on the dual pole sender or how the wire is attached. I take it you have checked the earth? I found the crimps aren't great with the size of the wire kit so maybe try soldering if you haven't already? What was the other problem you mentioned?

Welcome...... There's a brilliant manual, " Bentley" there's one for sale in classifieds at present. If you fancy doing maintenance yourself it's ideal. There's also a search section just below the box top right hand side where you can be more specific with search requirements. Etka is the CD you need to see diagrams and layout. Remember, if your buying parts mention your a Corrado forum member and it should get you some discount depending where you go. If you have any problems, give us a shout. It's a great forum with many friendly people only too happy to help. The headlamp washer is quite a rare optional extra sober always try VW as sometimes they can be reasonable. Just depends if it's obsolete or not. In some cases there are other companies local and in Germany etc that can still supply these difficult to source parts. Enjoy the VR and good luck

If the building has had any extensions or alterations you loose you PD rights. So if you bought a flat that was once originally a house, there would be no PD rights. This is my knowledge on PD. The other way round is to apply for a games room/hobby room and with building regs for shower/sink and soil drainage. Plus electrics. The car is a hobby after all. Gives you wider scope later down the line.

So who's going to give it a bash? Hassan, you like these type of funky mods, prepared to have a trial run? Where might be the best location for rear foot-well lights? Maybe something fixed towards the bottom footwells or the centre console to each side angled down? Not sure. I'm crap as mapping it out in my head. Not as keen as a centre rear light but rather ones at each side. Think it will look smarter if it's achievable?

Same wave length then.... Even better idea with the fading in and out, didn't think about that. Just subtle lighting, one small light for each floor-well and maybe a similar idea to the BM's at rear headrest level. I wonder if anyone will come along with pics/ideas? Should be easy enough to take a feed, plenty of earthing points to use. You could get away with small lights I imagine as its quite compact back there and wouldn't take much to give that subtle illumination. Some cars, inc VW have tiny lights to light up door pulls. It's so subtle but gives a red gentle glow. I definately want to incorperate that. I have the chrome door pulls but might go back to standard plastic ones and have them trimmed! My chrome pulls are a crap fit and just bug me more than anything because they don't sit flush. I also scratched one trying to trim the plastic down on the housing so they have to go!

Has anyone installed these into their C? Evening all, I like the way the BMW's have the slim rear lights which light up the back nicely. As the C had deeper seats and black interior is not so easy for passengers to see. Especially people who haven't sat in the back of a C before they get a shock when they drop down. I've been thinking to install them into the rear trim pieces either side of the screen, can't remember the name for the rear pillars, but you know the ones I mean. Pics would be excellent. Also considering some floor-well lights, subtle light. Plus I don't want my door pods being scuffed! Everyone is briefed more or less when entering and exiting my car! Lol Cheers in advance Rams

Don't forget the semi naked model calendar! Did the same with mine in reverse. Turned a garage into a small bungalow. Electric heated flooring is a good shout and wireless thermostatic control so when temp drops below required setting heating comes out to control moistures levels. So it's not going from cold to hot. Cheaper to heat this way also. One good idea is to have a soak away or drainage and plumb drainage/pipe work to be able to clean floor and spills with ease. If going for a pitched roof, consider a dry ridge system. Actually fixes ridge tiles to timbers and you don't see the mortar joins which usually fall out and can damage cars on driveways in heavy winds. It's a better job IMO than bedding them down. Maybe touch too far.... But ventilation and oven style setup if you ever want to paint??

Pop into your local engine repair shop or the Internet. ACL bearings are good quality

Let us know how you get on. I need to replace mine as bought some polished ones. Think the clips are special clips? Or r they just standard cir clips?
-
Welcome.. Sounds like a good project

Great idea, they do it with the adverts! Although sky say they don't! Mine isn't even a wife but is asking the question of when I will make her my wife. I feel doomed! The rado as a wedding car would make a nice picture come to think about it!

New oem centre gauges fitted last night and removed Eibach rear ARB. Wikki was most helpful.... Wire neatly routed, used the ramp and managed to squeeze into the gap to put the dual pole sender and wiring in. I did have the sender wires the wrong way round at first but quickly rectified. Very happy with them. Something new to look at inside. Had a close one last week, decided to take the car out to stretch her legs, my usual little route out to the dual carriage ways to Ringwood etc. got over taken by a focus and he looked in to my car whilst he drove by and as I was doing the speed limit incase it was police. So as he went fairly quickly past me and looked in I though, the punk wants to race... Let him get quite far ahead and waited for the 50 mph to open to 70 mph. I nailed the throttle and went hooning past, laughing and thinking well, just wasted you.... Slowed back up to normal speeds and exited the slip road to the roundabout. Look behind me and the focus is coming steaming up behind me and trying to undertake me... So I speed up to avoid him getting past and reach the edge of the roundabout and his seatbelt comes off, plus he diagonally parks across my car. I'm still thinking at this point, ****, I obviously ****ed him off and was working out how to monourver around him and saw a radio in his hand and he jumps out and said, just because I don't have blue lights!!!! He said, you went thundering past me and then sort of smirked.... I said, hey, I'm sorry... I was doing the speed limit and you over took me and I thought you wanted to play. He said, just be careful next time and jumped back in his car and went on his merry way! Phew and laughter happened and a normal drive back commenced as he was on the long dual carriage way going the same way as me. Get home and my friend has just poped round with his Audi RS4 estate 07 plate and said, come and take it for a spin! One of the most refined cars I've driven... Noticed a bit of tram lining but otherwise, so so incredible smooth and the sound......

Battery changed now... Will keep an eye on things. At least I installed my gauges last night so I can see what's going on. Re nagging wife.... I now point the tv remote at her and pretend to mute her when she starts nagging! Sometimes works!

Do your dash lights dim when using the elec windows?
-
Cheers. Will try new battery shortly, the car has been sat for ages, been off the rd whilst being painted and only really had short journeys. Should dash lights dim and relay click when closing /opening windows? At present, the rear doors cards are off being trimmed so things generally sound different from what you are used to hearing but don't recall the door making a click / relay sound.
-
Hi all I've got issues.... But you all knew that! Lol When I switch on the heated seat, for eg turn on passenger heated seat, the revs increase. If I put my window up/down the revs sort of drop and if the button is still in the up position with the window fully closed the dash lights dim and hear a clicking noise in the door and the relay behind in the passenger door card. The window works fine but the dash lights dimming and clicking noise seems strange. I may have to replace the battery as it doesn't seem to be holding charge, once fire up its charging fine but need t check voltage at alternator end which I will do shortly. Any ideas? I checked through last night but most people that had issues seem that the window wasn't working properly. I will check my wiring again but I do have the powered doors in that a button opens the doors instead of a handle. The doors are opening fine but will check this out. When I wired up my stereo my left hand speaker would make a noise and the speaker would move forwards and backwards. Ran a test and with head unit off, my left hand crossover has power momentarily when the ignition is switched on. Traced all wiring and all checks out. Power to amp is seperate from speaker cables. Would love to try and sort these issues and wondering if something isn't connected since doors etc have been off after re spray.. Rams
