Hi Nigel I believe the audioscape ones sit flush mounted/flat and as a result they are overall a bit wider and stick out a bit more into the floor well which is a bit restrictive and you loose a bit of sound from the speaker because your legs are in the way. The ones you have, will sit just proud (3 or 4 mm) with the speaker gril on but its the fixings of the screws to the timber unless you rebate them so they sit flush like the audioscape ones. I might have some 6.5 inch alpine speakers, (basic ones) you can use as a trial fit if you havent got anything to hand? Will try and find them as I bought them with a job lots of corrado bits and they dont really owe me anything. Thats if I can find them! If I do I will send them onto you. Call it an early birthday present.

I picked up the rear door cards tonight, the under trays are now pattern cut as templates then the real leather will be matched and trimmed. He's done another great job on the rear door cards. When the car goes in for paint I am dropping the front door cards in so he can trim the plastic strips along the top and get a neater fit where the plastic mouth grips over the leather. It's safe to say I have the trimming bug. Rear seats now dropped off, having Alcantara on the seat backs which you see when the boot is open. Once shes painted, there might be some new wheels coming but will save that for another time. It could really set the car off and the more I look at the D90's, the more I think its time to move on. Will be for sale soon.

Hi there I use a guy that works for K Baggs in Poole. Very high end trimmers that do all the posh cars... He does most of my work at home or at his work for much less. I'm going to see him tonight to pick up the under trays but he gets the leather or alcantara through his work. I've used Porsche Knappa but he can get quite a few different types and colours. The guy really is superb and a pleasure to deal with. You could meet me there later if you like to meet him? I've got the late dash available that came out of mine which is mint if your looking to have one trimmed? Do you need leather rear seats/armrest? All other items are mainly engine parts and accessories. I have a few handles available but thats about it for spare interior bits.

Hi all Quick update All the under trays have now been re trimmed in the matching leather so should now complete the front end. The handbrake handle should be ready for collection and dropping the rear seats in for trimmin at the same time. Bought a rear cloth bench/seats for trimming so will be selling my very nice condition leather rear seats/bench if anyone is intrested? Picking the bits up tonight so will post some nice pictures to show you what's been done. The car goes in for paint on the 12 th of this month and need to get to an agreement with the painter as he wants to take it to bare metal but only agreeing to do the paint free of charge to one side. The side hes painted now for the 3rd time. So I have to establish if it's his fault or if it's the other guy that did the prep work? I feel that the entire car needs re doing and that probably means stripping the exterior again which is just a pain in the you know where. Especially as its all trimmed and storing the stuff is the issue as you want to keep it clean and undamaged. The GF has already told me off for all the car bits hanging around, plus all the items in the shed! Need to do a car boot or eBay them all. Rams

Looking great mate, always liked those wheels. The wheels really make the car appear more compact, good choice.

Hey Kip, hoping for a speedy recovery, try not to over do it until your fully well again... Your seem like a fit man so sure you will be back up and running soon. Or cyclinging! Lol

What a great turn around! Hows the induction sound with the K and N? One of my all time favourite cars in the back ground, they just sound awesome. Your back must be aching!

Just have some weatbix on the day and some help.... We loosened everything up when removing, both removed the bolts either side after undoing the ABS sensors and down she came! I think I said something along the lines of **** me didn't think it was quite that heavy but with all the items on the beam it all adds up. Mainly because the shape of the beam as its ockward to hold and balance the weight but it all happened smoothly. 3 people, makes re fitting much easier. To be honest, a good wire brush on a grinder and a nice paint job should see similar effects. It's not like it's majorly on show under there.

I don't like the cold gear knob first thing in the morning or am I just a woose! lol Look nice with the surround though. Wasn't so sure with the surround on its own but looks much better with the matching knob

Mmm. Checked wheel nuts are tight? Oil on tyres from brake bleed? Maybe causing tyres to be slippery? Or tyre pressure is low? As your car is on coil overs, when the car is jacket up or raised the springs can be loose unless they have the assister springs? Wondering if the springs haven't re seated properly since the car was dropped back down? Give the suspension a push and just make sure everything is home.

Rears are much more involved than fronts.... Are you just rolling the outer edge? I would ask him how he's going to do it first.... Can he guarantee that the paint work won't be affected? ---------- Post added at 4:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:29 PM ---------- Hammer and dolly will do the fronts. The arch roller can pull the wings and sometimes bend the front lower section near the cill so it's almost easier if you make sure the wings don't get scratched. Or go easy with the arch roller and keep the wings in place? I practiced with a spare wing first on the ground with hammer and dolly and had a good result.

Will check in my garage. I removed mine when changing to OBD2. Will get back to you. Rams

Some have a plastic strip that fits into the recess at back of the battery. Mine was missing when purchased as it does move a bit forwards and backwards. Going to pop down to halfords to see if I can take one from another battery and this takes up the slack. If you look on the battery you will see 2 small holes where the strip would click into. Then the back end can be put under the lip and the bolt and bracket secures at the front to hold it all together.

Abdul - r u mounting yours to the door or a self made pod?
-
Have you had the engine running? I had this clicking and it was a duff battery. Craig also had this issue till I jump started him. When he called me and said my car won't start and its clicking.... I thought it was the battery and it was. You can still have lights working etc but there might be not enought power to make her start.. If not then definately starter motor but if it didn't jump start then it's definately the battery.

When I had mine done they needed to smooth in the wings so there was no step in the arch. Maybe yours doesn't need that as you have just filtered the round part of the arch. I had to do the round arch and then smooth in with filler to the rears to get it right. Then again, mine were flared and rolled.... I've had issues with my paint job and that's due to previous work on the body so for a trusting job, if you can take it all back to metal, your guaranteed a perfect job and all the paint being the right level. Depends how fussy you are but if you are doing the sanding, it would be worth it in the long run. Maybe it's just my car but don't want you to be in the same boat as me when really I should have gone back to metal for the extra work involved I wished I had just done it that way to begin with. Trying to share my experience with you that's all but I'm sure you've got it all under control. Keep up with the good work!

New systems tend to be lighter than the old so will shave some weight. But agree with above comments. Often sound can be mistaken for horse power! Lol

These wheels look great! Very nice indeed

Hey buddy Will you be fading the arches into the wings? Or have you been able to get away with just the arches? have you rolled the front lips? Might be worth doing it now? When will she be ready?
