Nice Electric seats. I had the same interior in my J plate 16 valve... Ooooo.... Lovely and comfey to sleep in too. How do I know ? had many a night sleep in them in the welsh forests following the WRC rally around

yup. plastic knob thing on the back of each headlight. If you can do it in the dark with the lights on against a wall with another car next to it parked at the same distance to the wall to align. worked for me

from memory with my infinity I made two mounting plates out of MDF shaped like a doughnut (circle with a circle cut out) then bent up a u shaped bracket to hold the speaker in position. the speakers are just floating in the dash under the grill.

wow what cowboys... I'm so sorry. Grrrrrrrrrr :x Not as bad as you, but it reminds me when i took my old rado to the local dealer for a service long time ago... dropped it off in the morning and was out visiting customers in the company shed.. saw this rather nice rado parked in a housing estate. thought nothing off it until i left and it flew past me at mack speed. It was my car. also given back to me damaged....

There's a storm for sale in todays autotrader 34K on the clock... It's at a dealer in manchester called Wheels in Motion.... he want 12.5K for it... Just wondering if it was the chaps that was trying to sell his about a month ago in the cars forsale section on this forum page. from memory he was asking in the region of 10K then for it. I wonder if it's the same car and what it went for in the end.

Agree no point in changing them if there not growning... Just nip them up a bit. won't take much, but do use a new split pin. Before my car went in for a MOT last week i did exactly this. sounds like you just have some slight play.
-
And I make that 12.5 years... Great stuff

I've just rewaxed my rear arches. they have come up really well. bit of a mare getting the muck out. but I have nice blue arches now. Will start the underside soon

I'm on limited mileage too although i only cover about 150 miles a year in mine at the moment. hence the low mileage

Just out of interest really.. How long have you owned your Rado? Is there anybody here who bought there rado new from the vee dub dealer back in the mid 90's and are the orig owner ? I'm the second owner of my VR bought her when she was 15 months old. And is there always going to be a rado on your drive or in the garage, if not what do ya fancy.

Thanks chaps all sorted apart from the plugs... Tried to have a look at number two cylinder. Look the easiest one to start with and decided to leave well alone until i had the correct tool... Cant find a plastic tool on the car :?
-
just trying to get the energy together to go and change the oil and filter in the rado this morning. Thought i might check the air filter and plugs... not taken the plugs out myself of the VR any special tool required and what should the plug gap be. TIA

Following on from my earlier post.... Just to say the car past her MOT with flying coulours. :D And I have spent an enjoyable afternoon re waxing the inner arhes on the rear of the rado. see pix below...

I know a VeeDub Dealer that did the same thing to my car... Changed the wrong bearing ! Doh. Still got both front done for the price of one.

Riki thanks for this information, I feel a bit happier about doing it now. Make's life a bit easier not having to remove the axle. I will have a look underneath tomorrow to check where i need to cut. The car got through the MOT today so not desperate, but intend to do it in a few weeks to get it out of the way. For the MOT today i managed to patch the silencer up with some gunk from halfords and some exhaust paint. the rear box is okay it's just the entrance and exit points on the mid section.
-
Sorry to hear about the ABS. I had fun and games with mine last year for the MOT... But I can confirm my rado passed this morning :D
-
thanks for the comments. interesting to know about the sleeve for cut 'n' shut on the exhaust. Although I do have a very nice mate who fabricates F1 exhaust. so i think he would do something with it for a few beers. can anybody advise how complex the removal of the axle is and how far it needs to be dropped to get the exhaust in place. (just for your info I'm an automotive engineer and do most things myself so not put off by removing the axle myself)
-
Okay I know the which exhaust thread has been exhausted  But can anyone offer me some advice on what i should do regarding fitting. after lots of Humms and Hooos, I've decided to keep the car standard and go for the Proper VAG exhaust at lots of money from mr VeeWee dealer. I know i could get a stainless one cheaper but this is the route i intend to take. Now the problem on my VR the mid section is joined to the rear box and you need to get it over the rear axle which will need taking apart to fit. Not very well designed mr volks. So how easy is it to remove and what additional parts like bushes shall i require. The other option is to get the new exhaust modified and split so i dont have to remove the rear axle. Any advice from the panel would be most helpful.

If you dont know what you need, they may supply something in the pack you dont actually need then

Thanks for all the nice comments. Hope to get her out to some shows this year and meet some other forum members. may go up to the CCGB AGM at the end of the month. Although I have not been a member since 1999  I had a membership number of 419 then  I see some forum members are in to 2*** now

Oh yes def a 4X4 huge gap between the tyre and the rear arch !
-
Have you tried loading the bearing up whilst driving ? drive the car round in a circles on full lock to load the bearing up. it will be the noisy bearing on the outer side of the circle you have driven.

No not electric just keep your bum warm in the winter months
