Good to hear everything is okay with the Rado. They certainly put a smile on your face, even to look at out of the window. You should have a nice cruise in her at the weekend. Humm drinking establishments in cowes, depends really. Normally put the boat into shephards marina so either the Anchor or Island Sailing club just before the RORC (Royal Offshore Racing Club) office. Quite often eat in the Red Duster or go up to the Folly for a bit of table dancing . Also the Wheatsheaf in Yarmuff as they do quite okayish food. Have a good weekend, not sure where we will end up !

Yes I'm a WAFI and have been for the last 10 years. Sad to say but it's one reason I've lost a bit of interest in my Corrado, she sat in the garage collecting dust. I race a yacht which we keep in Gosport most weekends in the Solent and venture across the channel in the summer. I love the island esp... Yarmouth and newtown for the peace. And the hussle and bussle of Cowes during cowes week. Hope you have a good weekend... Hows the new car

No not from IOW but i spend most weekends there. On the water though. Nice coastal road on the back off the island from the needles to shanklin. Whats your plan for the weekend

Thats a good price. I currently pay about 350 GBP for my VR6 through admiral.. But not looking forward to my renewal after rolling SWMBO's Astra last year.

I've owned my V6 since 1998, when she was 2 years old. She currently done 41K so had no major problems so to speak off. I've put a new battery in, front abs sensor and front discs and pads on and a set of rear pads, and she on her second set of tyres. apart from that she as she left the factory So what are the common problems i've got to look forward too and at what sort of millage do bushes, engine parts etc.... need replacing. TIA

Depends if your buying or selling

Best of luck with the new toy. :D few pix on here are called for i think at the weekend !

Common problem i expect. I have done a search but found nothing. The drivers door handle is getting a bit stiff when it's pulled. Is here a magic cure. Does it need some lubrication inside. I treated the rado to a polish today :D She come up luvly :D Just for the nice man at the MOT test centre when she goes next week... Do I get a slap for only covering 73 miles in her last year   Took the rear light out to clean the last 10 years dirt from the lip underneath too.

not bought one for a few year. i paid about 40 squid for mine fromthe veewee dealer. put a volt metre across all the sensors and check the resistance.... the one that has the odd resistance is faulty.

No the VR has had various reg plates. When I bought the car it had a personal plate on. So it was changed back to a N plate by the orig owner. I then bought a plate from the DVLA which was also a N but had my initials at the end. which is currently on the car. Lost a bit of interest with the Rado and VW Scene over the last few years with other hobbies and stuff. But was quite an active member of the CCGB in the late 90's. Not been to stoner for along time. Since the days i was into Bugs. I restored a 1302s into a Cal look. notice your into the Bug and camper stuff too.

Thanks for all the comments. To Answer a few questions, I bought the VR6 for not far short of 20K. Bought private from up north. The 16valve was about four years old when i bought her she had 28K on the clock and I paid 9K for it again this was private.

Hiya.... I've not made many posts on this forum, but obtained some helpful info from you chaps. Over the past few months I have had a few PM asking if I wanted to sell my VR6. Unfortunatly the answer is NO. I've also been asked to put a few pix up for people to have a look at. So here goes. All my cars are totally standard apart from the Momo's on the 16 valve. So nothing to get excited about if your into tuning engines. The VR6 is on a N plate, Black Leather, Air-co, heated seats. I'm the second owner. I bought it with 8K on the clock when it was 2 years old. It has 41K on the clock now. Toatally standard including the origional sony cd player. Full VAG history. In it's life its had a new set of disc on the front, pads all round, a new battery and abs sensor on the front drivers side. And has been garaged from new. Unfortunaly she has only done about 400 miles in the last four years. Thanks for looking :)

Hiya hope you can help. Got a VR6 rado on a 'N' plate and have lost the plastic trim off the boot lid hinge on the drivers side. It's the bit that's at the end of the long plastic lengths that run the length of the roof. looks like it's just connected by two plastic lugs. Any suggestions where i may find a replacement part it bugs me every time i wash the car. TIA

Current secondhand prices for Corrado's
delfinis38 replied to delfinis38's topic in General Car Chat
Thanks for both your replies.... I bought the car with 15K on the clock. it's met blue, black leather, airco and now has 40288K on the clock Full VAGSH. It's totally standard spec including the orig sony cd player. I've put a new set of front dics on it recently and it will need a new exhaust for the MOT next year. Apart from that she could do with a polish, always covered in dust as she just sits in the garage. she always puts a  :) on my face when she starts up. This is my second corrado i had a 1.8 16v on a j plate previous with recaro's. -
Hi Guys, I'm newish round here so please be nice to me. I've been out of the loop on the corrado scene for a few years now. I'm sad to say I'm an owner of a N plate VR6 with 40K ish on the clock, that never gets used apart from the trip to the MOT station, once a year. Anyway that beside the point, I was reading recently in classic car mag a bit on the corrado now being classed as a classic. And was wondering if the value of "Corrado" have started increasing. And what sort of money do good origional one's go for. By the way my corrado is not for sale.

possible cause My ABS light was on all the time for a while. I diog the problem to being the sensor on the front disc, which needed replacing. It had lost it's resistance. put a volt meter across both of the sensors and check both resistance are the same. If one is reading very low this is the dud sensor. new sensor fro Vdub was 37 squid ----------------------- Corrado VR6 1995 Standard Spec and not modified with 38K on the clock
