Quite straight forward, but I took my time. I didn't cut the ends off the old trim and put it in the oven to split the end caps (as suggested)as I wanted to keep the old trim, I actually managed to cut the end glue out with a Stanley knife. So I can put my old trims back if I wanted. I cut, filed and trimmed the front end first. It took me two attempts to be satisfied, (there's enough trim for about 3 balls ups. Then cut and filed the rear. Once satisfied with the fit I stuck the end caps and applied some double sided tape to the rear. It's a good solution to the problem, but they are not identical to the origional (if that's what you want) theirs a rad on the outer edge that sits slightly proud. The trim sits proud of the body work by about 1.5mm you can't do anything about it at the rear, but I took lots of rubber off the front so it fits flush then gradually rises. But that's being picky. Over all I'm satisfied, and they look much better than my old ones. Well done karmannski. just uploaded more pictures... picture 1 shows that ive taken a lot of material away from front under the front edge so the front end cap fits flush... not much you can do with the rear. the trim sits proud. picture 3 before I stuck the front end cap I filed a big chamfer out of the back edge, so the end cap sit more in line parallel with the trim now. picture 2

Thanks missed that bit in the translation of orig instructions. Managed to cut the ends out with a Stanley knife. But will try oven with other side.

Why do you need to put the ends in the oven before glue and assembly... Does it aid assembly... Or am I missing the point.

Thanks mine arrived this morning...started drivers side this afternoon... Removed old rubber, cleaned and polished gutter, and removed two glued end bits... Ran out of time.

Standard rims were the speedlines, but their were other options one being Monte Carlo and think brands hatch... But very rare. The storms came with bbs solitudes which were the same as fitted to the golf of that era. You see some non storms with these bbs on these days.

Upgrade the rear calipers to mk4 golf, there not any better for braking but it gives you a better reliable handbrake. Corrado rear calipers are know to seize. Hence why I hardly ever put my on.. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?40893-Mk4-Golf-Rear-Calipers-Upgrade-Re-Parts -

All these wheeler dealer programs are rubbish !!

If you want to haggle you need to turn up, it shows your intent to buy..... On a different note there are some good deals on new veedubs at the moment. VW uk are subbing dealers to shift stock.
