Mine is a 95 vr so it will have the same as yours, thanks for the link will go for that i think. Got any pics of it on the car?
-
Non amplified by the looks of it? I think i need one with a signal amplifier as i have rubbish radio reception. Did it improve your reception?
-
Why doesnt my car look like this..... Are the headlights and indicators tinted/lamin-x'd?
-
Sorry for the revival, are the discs custom machined 280mm 5x100? And those black bits in the kit carrier adapters to move the calliper away from the centre?
-
Did alot of research and found the common cause of my poor radio reception and assume its the signal amplifier. Im going to fit a replacement ariel with amplifier, what have people used as a replacement? Think the vag unit comes in at around £70, any aftermarket units that fit, look good, work and cost less? Cant see anything on ebay? (late vr6)

New rear discs, bearings, lines, mk4 callipers, seals, pads.... Basically anytrhing at the back to do with braking.
-
One of my rubber dust seals was buggered so i changed the pair for genuine vag ones, the seals come with a lubricant which they need to be soaked in for 45 mins before fitting and makes installation far simpler. Yeah the mk4 callipers fit straight on the rado carriers and handbrake cable.
-
Quick heads up, i bought the mk4 handbrake lines and they do NOT match up at the handbrake end. Rado cables have a threaded end, the mk4 items do not. I also discovered the mk4 carriers will not work with the corrado carrier bolts and the dust shield needs modifying (hitting with a hammer). Will do a full write up soon.

Right I've removed the rear discs and put together the new disc and bearings. Think i'll put together a guide for new discs, bearings, mk4 callipers and hand brake lines in case anyone else is interested.
-
As per title, i've seen a good guide on fitting new rear discs and bearings but nothing on fitting mk4 rear callipers and hand brake lines. Can someone point me in the direction of one please?

Any idea on where i can find a guide to replacing with mk4 hand brake cable and callipers? -
Rolling roads are a bit of a lottery as there are so many variables that influence the estimated bhp figure. Where did you get it dyno'd? Keeping it well serviced should help keep the engine healthy and reduce losses though.

What about cable clips? Are these to attach the cable to the rear beam? Just ordered mk4 handbrake cables, will these be wrong? -

Does anyone know a good guide for mk4 rear calliper conversion? I have; Mk4 callipers Vr6 brembo rear discs New VW rear bearings Vr6 rear pads Do i need a new mk4 handbrake cable and cable clips? Do i use the vr6 rear carriers with the mk4 callipers? Any guide to removing and replacing the handbrake cable including new clips? -
Same one i had for mk mk2 16v, looks nice :)
-
Thanks for the advice people. Just bought a set of brembo rear discs from the bay, can only see green stuff fronts on ebay though.
-
Can anyone recommend me some nice rear discs and pads? Im aware rear braking is minimal but i want something that wont rust in a year and looks nice, perhaps grooved and or dimpled, are they all pretty much the same quality?
-
Haha, no got these from ebay froma guy called nb-808, should he be covering the cost of me returning them as well as they're heavy and i dont fancy forking out a tenner for postage?
-
Emailed the guy and he replied straight away saying it was his fault he wrongly listed them and he'll give me a full refund, thanks for the help guys. :)
-

That is insane, guess its just being built for a dyno run and a world record so not made to be driven? -
So I got sold dud discs? They look too small to be fronts, the ebay add says rears?
