http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320652320303&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT These are the discs, are they missing the bearing housing then?

The new rear discs i have, have no cast in bearing housings in their design thats why i ask!! ; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320652320303&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT The section that hoeses the abs ring and bearings is not on the new discs so im guessing i need the centre housing from the old discs?

Hi all Im a little confused, im trying to replace the rear brakes with new callipers discs and bearings. I have the old stuff off and have the new disc and bearings but it seems the bearing housing needs to be extracted from the old disc along with the abs ring, how is this done? Do I take my hammer to it?

If you don't mind me asking how much was the retrim? Prefer immaculate recaro leather to my cloth recaros from those pics.

Ok will go for all the above and hack up the w/g pipe so I can plumb it into the down pipe. Has anyone had any experience with this turbo? As i've told kev via pm i am trying to get all the parts needed for under 2k, so far so good will probably end up being a few hundred over once i start picking up all the niggly bits like gauges. New rear discs arrived today and they look so nice compared to the old rusty ones! Picking up the new rear bearings from vw tomorrow as well. Can anyone recommend me some decent pads for front and rear? -
I was thinking about the implications of running a schimmel or similar inlet mani with standard management, if the same throttle body is used do you avoid any issues? Was it easier for you because you are running obd2?

Thanks Kev, I've also been offered a Garrett T3 60-1 0.86AR as part of a deal with most of the other parts i need; Front mount intercooler Connecting pipe work ( you will need to modify your slam panel ) Bailey dump valve External wastegate pipe ( vent to atmosphere ) Oil feed pipe Oil drain pipe Modified fuel rail with Simens injectors ( believe they are 640cc if not 680cc ) LC1 Wideband ( again will need wiring and calibrating ) Will at T3 be too small? -

I've paid for the manifold and other bits listed above including the 2mm decomp plate. Slight complication with the arp's as i accidently ordered standard ones..... I've been looking at turbo choices, im thinking a gt35-35 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130433938032&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT or a T04s like stealth use; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Garrett-Journal-Bearing-full-60-1-aka-T04S-Turbo-/130375608707?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5afde983 Im also trying to decide between a liquid/air charge cooler or a fmic and doing some more research into injectors and management. -
Is there an oil line 'kit' available for vrt's? If not does someone have a shopping list from theirs for me please?

Bit the bullet and bought the vw rear bearings, got a 10% discount for being on here! (about £56 in total with discount)
-
Any news on the manufacturer? Rear bearings are going to cost me 65+ in parts! And 80+ for the bushes!!! Should be able to get a 5-10% discount

Right i've started looking into turbo parts after speaking to kev :) Bought; ARP head set Buying; Spa manifold tial 38mm wastegate Downpipe 2mm decomp plate My mate has a new emarald m3dk kit he's offering me for £500 as well so im thinking of having that off him (depending on how much the kit is new). -
Yeah im guessing it will feel gutless compared to standard compression, you could run it with some nitrous to compensate in the mean time? :)

I still love a clean black leather recaro interior, more pics?

Just got off the phone to vw... Rear wheel bearings £30.47 EACH Rear beam bushes £44.11 EACH!!! Is this right?? Rear bearing kits are about £7 from GSF!!! are these prices right?
-
Ohhhh, just bought a load of bits from GSF including the rear bearings, will cancel that now!! Where can i gert replacement allen bolts for the carriers? (snapped a spanner getting them off!!)
-
Thanks Kev, vw it is, how about for rear wheel bearings? GSF or the real deal? What started as new rear discs is turning into a rear end rebuild...with the mk2 new cams turned into a full engine swap!
-
Any idea how easy it is to fit the saab v6 coilpack?
-
All i can think about is accidently falling into it!!
-
I ve done a bit of research and im thinking of replacing some bushes starting with the rear beam. I ve read that oem are better than poly because the allow the prs but by oem do people mean vw part or am i ok to get a set from my local parts place? I've also read that when going for a rear arb 25mm is better than the 28mm if your running standard front, can anybody with experience confirm this?
-
Im sure you could get double that, there are always people asking about the last group buy for cams
