  1. I've put a new load of 10/40 oil and it does start quietly but once warm the tapping becomes louder. Anyone else use 15/50 or different in their valver? How much am I looking at for someone to replace the followers, could I do it myself? With head in place for example

looks good. you might need to use shims help the rears fit. the concave looks good too, the et must be low
  3. I can't see anyone buying a valver for that. No matter the mileage. I bet in person it's just same as mine lol.
  4. I got a few sets tbh. All in top condition. Currently down the boozer but can sort them out tomorrow, I'm off work can get them posted too.
  5. Cheers Rob. I really miss being able to drive it after being in a Corrado for so long. It'll just be a weekend and fun car so will not take as much punishment as it would as a daily
  6. All back together again now. Changed the oil and cleaned sump. It's all looks clean now. I just need to get the ignition timing done but I don't have a timing light. Sounds fine anyways now, not a bit of smoke out the exhaust or any oil or coolant loss. I've not been for a drive through as tax ran out last month. Will get the wheels fitted soon but need to sort out some electric issues too but going in the right direction now..
  7. Yesterday actually, cleaned sump and oil pickup. Refitted with gasket. After doing a fair bit of work on it after the head gasket issues I hope to put oil in today and fire it up. Fingers crossed that this is it for engine issues. Next electrics and the new wheels can go on. Hopefully some meets this summer
  8. Hello Again I'm putting the belts on after getting the head back, that's all sorted now. I'm using my passat haynes ( 9A ) working my way through it's just the timing marks on the bottom pulleys that are confusing/frustrating me. the camshaft pulley is in the right mark pointing up. it's the intermediate pulley and crank pulley marks I need advise on, I know there's a permanent mark on the inside of the crank pulley after the vw/audi marks and there's a white paint mark on the intermediate pulley. Where do these two have to meet? should the crank pulley mark face up or? meet the white mark somewhere? Any help would be awesome thanks, I did try the search but was looking for better pics that what's in the haynes

  17. Evening all Just wondering what causes the bumper to not sit even? What could I get to improve it? Is it to do with the guides on the sides?

  20. I've had mine powder coated. Looks pretty good still after a couple of years
  21. Dropped the head off at South Wales pistons just now. Pressure test and skim. Found coolant in the middle 2 chambers and found some of the head bolts really easy to remove as though they weren't torqued down like the others or had been stretched. They were new from vw and has only done at most 200 miles. Gaskets all seemed in good condition couldn't see damage or anything that might be at fault appart from the fact the head wasn't seemingly torqued down!
