Thanks chaps, I've also found they seem to 'weld' themselves to the housings. We managed to get one of them out without destroying it. I think I might just buy new ones from GSF as I am refurbing the rest of the pieces.

Just picked a copy up, was stunned to see a raddo on the front cover! Only had a brief look but they both loook sweet! The Mrs is gonna love the lupo too!
-
Thanks chaps, will give that a try. Does anyone know how much they are to replace, roughly?

I'm in the process of trying to refurb these hubs, but cant work out how the damn ABS sensor comes off the housings (I've removed the obvious bolt, but it still wont budge!) - any ideas? DSCN1378.JPG[/attachment:1c96fj5f]

Good on ya! Hehee Looks nice in your sig, great colour :) -
Wheels look nice dood, glad to see you got the right offset on them too, will help spare your arches and tyres! Do yo get any rubbing at the front on full lock? I am thinking of going 9" with 205 tyres, is it me or do those schmidts seem to expose the rim more than others? Keep up the good work.

Yeah I'm happy they came up so well with such little effort!

Just wanted to show off my refurbed calipers & carriers, they've been shot blasted and have come up way better than I thought! Check out how bad the caliper is that hasn't been done yet. Now for some paint!

Started to make some progress with my planned 288mm brake upgrade, and also refurbed hubs and bearings etc. I gave my dad the carriers and one carrier to take to work as he can get them shot blasted, check out the results!! Both calipers were in the same condition, but look at the difference, like new! The carriers look equally as good. Next up will be the hubs etc, this is how they came, as you can see I haven't touched them yet. My plan is get the other caliper done, I've already ordered new seals & bolts etc then paint the calipers & carriers. Once refurbed this little lot will all go on in one go. Just need to decide what discs/pads to run - ideally I want ones that are coated so they dont corrode.

I am in the process of getting my carriers/calipers blasted then painted, but I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer. Do the VAG pads come with those wire clips? as I do not have those. Can I use them on Black Diamond combi brakes, and are these going to be more noisey than my standard discs? Cheers in advance.

Thanks chaps, I was 80% sure I wanted stainless, now my mind is made up!

Hi all, I am looking into getting my ZW1's refurbed, but cant decide whether to get ally or stainless steel outer rims. Oviously the steel ones are gonna be heavier, but they should be less prone to corrosion. What about polished ally though, will they corrode quickly without the lacquer on them? Any experience/advice would be appreciated. Cheers

Thanks for this, I used a pair of pliers to gently squeeze them, once a few were done it came off really easily!

Will do, not sure when it'll be, maybe in a few months, but I'll let ya know. Gutted I didn't get to see ur car though dood.

I picked up my donor bumper today, complete with subframe, but how does this come off? I've removed the inserts that secure the clips, but the frame still doesn't seperate from the bumper - any ideas chaps? Also, I am going to fill in the tow eye cover, what type of filler do I need to do this?

Been on the hunt for a few bits and pieces lately, had planned on getting an new exhaust but I have decided to wait a few months until the weather improves. Anyway, I picked up a donor bumper off Damo today (cheers buddy), straight swap for my 280mm momo wheel, which was nice. I plan on getting it smoothed off at some point, I am in no hurry, but at least I have sourced all the bits now. DSCN1325.JPG[/attachment:2x2b2tqs] I'm 90% certain that I am gonna refurb my RH's, phoned Dubmeister during the week and they were quite helpful and the price of some new stainless dishes sound very tempting indeed. Hmmm... I wanted 9" on the back, but I am not convinced a 205*40 tyre is gonna look too good stretched that much. Might wimp out and go for 8.5", and get some 20mm spacers to increase the offset a little (theres room).

looking forward to seeing some more pics/progress with this, gotta be one of my all time fave corrados!
-
and I take it both sides of the join and the rod all need to be heated so that they weld together?
-
I've got my spare piece and picking up a donor bumper off mk3-damo next weekend, not sure when I am gonna start this though. Be good for us all to post up some progress pics/techniques as I've never done this sort of thing before.

Are those FK smoked rear lights? They actually look like they are properly aligned (some I've seen are awful), did you make any mods to get them to fit correctly?
-
Nothing, its too damn bright! Hehehee! Looks like I have a side light bulb gone then.
-
Fitted mine last week and it works a treat, especially with new bulbs! BTW with the engine off and my lights on, should I see both side lights lit up or just one? Both rears are lit up.

Hi Simon, I've got 8*17 ET35 RH's all round. I'm running 590mm at the rear (ground to centre/top arch) and I can just get my fingers between tyre and arch. Since your wheels are going to stick out 14mm further (will be ET21) I reckon it will be VERY close to rubbing (assuming similar ride height). I'd go 20mm rear spacers also, get as close to ET35 as you can ideally. The fronts will be probably be ok (they will stick out a little) but as you cannot tuck the tire in the arch without removing part of the liner, just set the ride height to give yourself sufficient clearance. If I get a chance I will post up some pics soon. HTH, Jamin.

If not I'd be happy to help source a rear bumper with someone to share part of it in return.
