I'll have to work mine out when I have time. I haven't had mine a year & I know that it's going to be over £1042
-
best of luck mate, hope it all goes ok. I do love my car when it's going well, but all this constant waxing my cash on maintenance make me wonder whether or not to call it a day with the modded car thing for a bit. The cars got till July when my insurance is due to start behaving. That will be D Day. After that I might get a mk2 golf for a bit so I can save for something a bit special. Just idea's......... Anyway, back to the topic

Depends on the difference in cash I suppose. I don't just fancy whipping out £700 on a new suspension if I don't have too MOT's due start of May, if it's picked up on there then It will be just the front shocks that get done if it's possible. She's cost me nearly 1k last month in up keep. I still need to stick 2 more boots on the back for the MOT. I want to get to the stage where I'm enjoying modding the car, not forever skint cos I have to keep spending on expensive problems or up keep. One good thing I suppose, when the day comes to sell it, she'll be worth every penny that I put her up for.

What's the law on removing the indicator from a UK wing?
G60Dan replied to biggerbigben's topic in Exterior
legally anything after a "D" plate has to have them, but I have smooth wings on my C & it's MOT'd all fine. If they pull you up on it, take it for an MOT somewhere else  -
Thought I would put this one at the top, I think I have a similar prob. 1st & only time it happened was last week when I took the car through a number of corners at speed. Then got a bit of knocking from the front of the car, I slowed down & it went away. It's not the exhuast - it's rock solid, as are all the engine mounts and all rubber suspension / anti-roll bar bushes as i have had them all replaced. Could it be this driveshalt thing? I've also had a read of it on http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... eshaft+g60 Is it just a case of cutting it off? Sounds a bit easy for a problem on one of my cars LOL :)

not making any noises mate. When I had the car serviced, the guy said one of the shocks was weeping slightly. The problem will only get worse & not any better. They still has a good lot of life in them. Was just planning ahead really.

On my G60 I have a Weitec Coilover Suspension. It's been on there nearly 20k now so the shocks will need replacing soonish as the car is pretty low - fronts more so than the back. My questions is, can I buy (e.g. Koni) high adjustable coilover shocks that will be a direct replacement? Or is it whole new suspension time?? It would be handy to be able to replace the fronts then do the backs a few months down the line so I'm not skint for ages. Or... can you have your oil shocks re gas'ed? If so where? Thanks Dan

LOL :D That was the only one I knew. So it is a boost return making the piiitiisssh then?? Sounds wicked
-
Somehow I doubt it'll have any G-werks kit on it at all... ;) John runs his own tuning/servicing company JMRacing (who I used for my block work on my new 1940cc G60 engine, and all the gas flowing). His 16VG60 also runs twin inlets and has the boost return plumbed back in to one of the inlets via a very nice trick airbox... 8) It's a seriously nice piece of kit... I've got a few photos from Inters last year of it and I'll stick a couple up tonight when I get home... 8) LOL I asked does it have a G-werks type boost return kit on it, or is it a dumper? :D
-
the 1st one sounds like it has a dumpvalve. Is this how all 16v G60's sound or does it have a G-werks type boost return kit on it or something?? Down sound very smart 8)

I've got mine in, just what I was after. Will post pic's soon

I've done mine 2 :( I've been ill the last week, at the weekend I was off down the doc's (not feeling great - which was probably why it happened), I was moving the car in to a good position to get off of the drive ok & my bloody foot slipped off the clutch & jolted the car forwad & it just touched the wall  :( I was very lucky, it's left a few small marks. The bumper could of done with painting anyway - it's just brough it right forward now  All I needed! :x

make sure both sides are closed, Get someone to pull the bonnet cord while you lean on the offending side, bouncing it slightly. Best of luck

I've got an oil cooler to go on my G60, I'm told it's the same as what's on a mk1 golf - having never seen one from a mk1 golf I couldn't confirm that though. It's going on when the weather gets a little warmer. I can't be arse to lie on the cold floor to fit in the cold. Question - when putting the adapter plate on between the engine & the oil filter, does it need any kind of gaskets? I wouldn't have thought so , but thought I'd better ask just encase.

I doubt that the 4x4 transmission loses as much as 70bhp. More likely 30-40. That puts it within punching range of the VR6 (which will lose about 10-20), but the extra grip and wider torque curve will make it a winner every time, I'd say.. I don't actually think they are 220bhp anyway, it's a bit lower. 4x4 cars can loose up to 1/3 of the power through transmission. unless it's a p1 or a 22b I wouldn't worry about a striaght line race. Round corners might be different story though
-
220bhp through a 4x4 transmission isn't a lot. Probably under 150bhp on the wheels. The Scoob will have a good start, but my moneys on the VR every time.
-
If it was a normal 2.0 Turbo type a vr6 would have done it quite nicely Tis a nice feeling when you pull up at the next set of lights after just beating a scoobie driver. The smug look they had at the previous lights is no longer there and is replaced with a  :( I've not had the pleasure in my G60 yet, but did in my RS Turbo. However, I've shown an a Audi TT driver he should have spent a little more and got the quicker TT version, his bird thought he should have spent more 2 :D . It doesn't pay to be 2 smug sometimes 8) It's even better blasting about in a Modded G40 (std looking) The TT drivers don't have get a surprise as your go shooting past
