ok guys, I've spent over an hour searching and can't find much to help  (I'm sure someone else is going to post a link straight away knowing my luck! lol) basically, now got a 1.8 16v rado, going to use it as my daily driver while I sort the IHI engine out and my Mk1 but it's got a running problem when cold, for the first 5 minutes or so, if I give it any throttle it's really lumpy, and chokes alot anyone had this problem before? also know what the fuel pressure should be? (going to check the pressure tomorrow but I know it's not a pressure problem as I've had loads of pressure problems on the Mk1 before) thanks in advance for any help you guys can give :thumbleft:

excellent.. thanks VEEDUBBED

yeah they just unscrew, they're attached to the gaitor with a big platic C clip IIRC Cheers

Calling People with Coilovers, help required :? :? :?
PhillT replied to mtc R32's topic in Drivetrain
wire brush on a drill, red oxide primer, black top coat, then underseal over that works best for me -
as title, will 16v driveshafts fit into G60 outer CV joints? Thanks
-
think I might give him a call once I've figured out what to do with the CAT B worthless peice of *blank* shell I've been probably wasting my time on :mad2:
-
Hi Kev, yeah the pistons were done using an original G60 piston as the guide, oversized to 81.5mm but the half-moon raised section of the crown was 0.63mm higher than the original causing it to raise higher than the block face which hasn't inspired me with confidence one bit
-
:? as subject really... got some forged pistons with the car, now they sit perfectly level with the top of the block when at TDC (and I mean spot on level, had to get the top machined for the reason below) but I was told yesterday that they may expand when they get hot which will cause them to hit the head if this is the case can someone "in the know" confirm if this will be the case please? I would phone the manufancturer but considering they machined them 0.63mm too high in the first place I don't think they would really know! any help would be great Thanks Phill

:thumb right: nice one ben, thanks might be asking for advice quite alot, being my first turbo'd car it's a big learning curve it will be a daily driver while the Mk1 gets some treatment after this, might become a weekend/track car in the future
-
Cheers :thumb right: I'll be feeling better when the engines built back up it'll feel like I'm actually getting somewhere
-
not sealed it yet, and can't remember the name of sealant I've got  should be ok though, Red oxide inside, then hamorite, going to seal seal it on then underseal it if that rusts again I'll give up working on cars

time for a little update the Mk1's been taking up my time recently but managed to finish the battery tray (finally!) trail fitted the front panel and refitted the front wing nothing major but thought I'd keep the thread up-to-date
-
does look like a much better fit now, and very mean! 8) £30 what a bargain
-
don't somewhere like Hadrian panels have corrado arches? I can't believe I can get arches for the Mk1, but not the corrado which is 10 years younger
-
ditto..taking me forever though :x want to get the Mk1 on the track at some point (when I fix the leaking oil + water)
-
got your car as my desktop background! think it looks amazing, you've done a great job
-
Girlfriend had one like that which I had to drive back from a devon weekend, 1.4.. foot down all the way, with the wind fighting against it I was lucky to get the speed limit  typical Ford, they're cheap, easy to fix, and get you where you need to go most of the time!
-
cheers :thumbleft: might just keep them for now, gives me a rough guide if someone needs a set in the future
-
glad it was something simple and easy to fix :thumb right:
-
that'll tell you it's live but not very acurate better to have some like this Maplin example that way you will get an exact (well pretty exact on the cheaper ones) voltage reading
-
am I being dumb, thick and completely blind? got some standard G60 pistons (no rings, done 95k but look fine) I'd like to stick them up for sale but have no idea what they're worth (or if it's even worth selling them) sorry mods if this is in wrong section/didn't see a what's it worth section and didn't want to waste your time by putting an ad with 'open to offers'
-
got some pics up anywhere? love seeing freshly painted cars 8)
-
get yourself a voltmeter, can pick them up cheap (around £10-20) and always come in handy solving electrical issues check the battery voltage (usually 12.5v) and earths before splashing out on the new one sounds like either bad wiring or dodgy solanoid to me if the battery is good, well, they're the cheap possibilites
-
yeah give it a couple of weeks
