Hi Brian thanks for that. :salute: I'm not expecting this to be cheap. And it is a custom part for the car. But will look the bo**ocks. So based on the fiesta one being 40 nicker I would guess between 50 and 100. I think anything over a ton and that may be pushing it. But its like all parts I reckon the manufacturer has a random price generator as some parts are clearly not worth it. If he is willing to do it the next question should be at what increments will the price drop i.e. 5 orders 100 pounds, 10 orders 90 and so on. I'm sure if the gauge pods on eBay continue to go for plus 35 quid people may be tempted to go for something like this. I'm down in Derby next week so may go bang on the blokes door see what he has to say if email doesn't work :lol:

Hi Brian, Did you get a chance to email this guy about the A pillar pod? I would be in. I never seen your post been on and off the forum for a while lately. If you want I can email him and see what the story is. I'm pretty sure we could get five orders. Would be cheaper than getting the console one of Ebay by the looks of things.

Do you need a sender unit or does it connect directly to the sensor?

What sort of readings should you expect to see on the VAC side?

What I meant was if your doing some hard driving and your not producing much boost you would think I have a leak somewhere better get this looked at. So if you are idling and there is a change in the Vac pressure from the norm this would indicate a problem of some sort. The question is what sort of a problem would this indicate. One of the reasons for having the guage in the first place. Where are you planning on getting the pillar holder from? Cheers

I see :shock: Thanks for that. I thought that is was always charging even on idle as they charger is being turned as the engine turns over. I guess there must be some bypass then for the air. Hmmm lots to think about Where is everyone going to mount these gauges? Also would there ever be a situation where you would lose VAC pressure but not boost?

Ah think I would put mine in the glove box then so as I wouldnt be tempted lol Would it fit where the ashtray is?

Again I lay my head on the chopping block with my lack of knowledge about the G60 :oops: but as its is always "charging" if you like. Would you ever create a vacuum reading? I think I understand how a Turbo does this but not so clear on the G60. If it does create a vac reading what does this then tell us? How much do you think he will give you off the list price? and the other question is how much for delivery? I would guess whoever will want to ship to the Group Buy organiser and then they will have to be sent special delivery to us. Depending on the saving it may not be worth while (for the organiser that is).

Hey Brian do you want to see if you can push this guy for a response on how much and if he'd be willing to do some. I'm pretty sure we can quote Dubcharge and sign up a further three people for one. Barrie I was looking at the speaker pod mod on your site and I guess we could use the vinyl on the pods. I don't know how this works or if the gauge pods would not be flat enough etc. Anyone used this before? Or is this a bad idea?

Ahh :thumb right: No back light well spotted :shocked!: No pics of the mounting pod from power eng? Can you get them so as they only show the boost? I like that guage as it says PSI and not Turbo as a few I have seen have this. The other reading is not necessary for the G60 is it. (Again sorry my knowledge of these things is very poor) :oops: I just like driving mine. But I'm learning :D

Low G not sure what you mean what trip? Baz do you have a side mount pod or one similar to the TIM mounting pod? Sorry if I'm being thick :?

Do you know where the side mount pods can be found? I recall a company that will do custom made ones but only if you order a certain amount. I not so sure about the web site. Think it may be on my work PC. Also think someone on the egroup got the link from one of the seat forums. I'd be up for a group buy on these.

I'm not sure. I would guess you can get it up there by taking out the small shelf where the manual should sit. I took the blanking plate off and there loads of room behind there. Relatively speaking. Let me know and I'll do some more investigating if it will help.

Hi I'm thinking about getting the above. Anybody got any recommendations? Make? Model? And best place to pick one up? From what I can see the install is very simple. I already have the volt and oil pressure so need somewhere to house it. Again recommendations please. Would I be correct in saying this would be the one of best ways to make sure your charger is nice and healthy. I.e. loss of boost pressure one of the signs its time for a rebuild. I do check for oil in the boost pipe once a month. Comments suggestions please and thanks.

If it was your second car and you where loaded it would be rude not to. But as your topic title suggests you be off your trolley. If the above didn't apply. This is only my opinion and I have a lot of respect for those who go down this route, my wallet and my patients couldn't take it thou. And you would never see the money again.
