"Servo Assisted" brakes and forced induction motor
Fat Tony replied to stormseeker's topic in General Car Chat
Good call Joe I couldnt figure that out especially when boosting so I though you really shouldnt be breaking and producing boost at the same time and didnt want to test my weak theory out  -
I was told that it is a different wiring loom that was fitted at the factory. As there is two part numbers for them because it was an optional extra. But it was VAG that told me so who knows

LOL mines a J as well and no ABS. Apparently its more trouble than it is worth but as I have never had it or used it on a Corrado (which I guess is a good thing) I cant really comment
-
I have one in mine. Dont think it made any difference IMO
-
Cheers for that will see what I can do thanks

I thought the G60's didnt get ABS when was it introduced?

Hi My Hand break seems to only work after I pull it past what used to be the 4th\5th click (no clicks any longeruntil the tension kick in) then I get tension. It is very cold up here at the moment so not sure if something has frozen or if I have snapped one of the cables or what? Is there anything I can do to check what the problem may be or is it best just to book it into get a mechanic to look at it. Cheers

Somebody posted it on the forum. Its the only VAG one I have ever seen. Sure there must be more out there but never found any others sorry :(
-
I have these and like them a lot. Had the avons before them and the michelin's are much better
-
Does the G60 have a fuel cut off switch and if it does how can you test this is working (if it does have one) cheers
-
See this video gives you a better idea doesnt explain why but does tell you when boost is introduced http://www.corradoclub.it/videos/gCharger.wmv

Would be a safe bet that its your gauge then seen as you are hearing the air flow. Dont know how big your connector is but one thing we thought about trying was with a foot pump was attaching the gauge to it and pumping till we got a reading. Very crude I know but may work.

Got it from summitracing http://www.summitracing.com Do a sarch on Nordskog as I'm sure there are a few uk suppliers

I have this one. http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=68 Was a bit pricey but never seen one like it so its a bit different. It stores your max boost and I have it in the glove compartment. Only thing is no vac. So trying to find a vdo vac guage now. Have a cracking Christmas

If somebody offered me book for my car I'd tell them to pi%% off. So IMO when it comes to the C its not worth the paper it is printed on. If I was buying say a 1 year old golf then I would have a look and use that as a reference. How many C's are sold via dealers these days? I would imagine across the country not very much so the data they have will not reflect the true value of the cars. Due to the lack of it. Which dealers get to put the data in the book if it is only franchises then again for older cars the whole thing is just flawed.

There are two points that I know off for attaching your tube to, one after the ECU going to the dash (using Y or T peice) or after the throttle body there is a small pipe coming out. Go to the below link and this shows you how VW test the output simply wire you gauge up under the hood and try then install if it is working. When I fitted mine I thought the unit was screwed as it wouldnt boost but when I nailed it on the on road 11psi :) Was late at night and the nieghbours would not be impressed with me http://www.corradoclub.it/videos/gCharger.wmv

28 had it for three years in January (Insurance coming up :( ) -
I would add never service my VW at Dane motor company. I know this is off topic but I called VW on several occasions and to them they are a franchise and they don’t take responsibility. Which is just crap!! Ah well at least VAG make some quality motors

Got a 50'000 miles service done with them. They didn’t have a V belt in stock said they checked the current one didn’t need doing. Drove it back to Scotland the next day it started to fall to bits. Driving along hear a ding ding noise from the engine bits of the belt where just popping of then it sheared the pulley bolt of. Called AA got toed home (was sat night) and they said it was fine when the checked and if I brought it in they would have a look. Yeah right I'm in Glasgow and I cant drive the car. I had to pay for the car to get transported to my mechanic and then a 300 quid bill and my mechanic said I was lucky the thing didn’t snap. Spoke to VAG they said its a dealer problem speak to the regional rep he's like nothing we can do. Rant over Oh and they charged me the labour for fitting it
