I'm always there - I usually work form home... or garage LOL! Sun would be nice, the only sun I get at the moment is The Rising Sun for a few beers! You'll need to address this thou! "Hibernation for Winter ! SORN" how am I going to see all the bits I've lost or have forgotten to bolt on if its under a blanket in your garage! :D -

Not sure what was going on yesterday as I replied twice to this... guess the server was having issues. My car will be on show! Its "on show" on my Mothers driveway with no front end in it! - everyone is more than welcome to come and view it, kettle is always on, if you bring overalls I'll throw in a bacon sarnie! ;) Hopefully getting the block and cylinder-head back tomorrow, got the paint and compressor to do the engine bay.. maybe this weekend. -
Looks good... but do they actually do anything? :/

Morning Dox, yeah I did wonder that... I really wanted the revised non-rivited parts... problem is the first thing they ask for is a Reg or chassis number.

Am I right in thinking that the Schrick 268 cams are matched to go with the Schrich VGI manifold? I'm sort of leaning towards Shimmel 263's

Just about to look at getting my block back from the engine builders so need to look at chains.... Since the parts are obsolete from the main Stealers... and I flatly refuse to give VW Teeside http://vwgolfr32.co.uk/shop/VR6-Timing.htm - £377 for a kit that was £150.. can anyone recommend or advise which parts they have used? I can only find the Fibi Bilstein kits which don't have the revised non-rivited parts.

I've done an 8v GTI before... really easy.. undo the sump bolts, juggle sump out of the way, pump has 2 or 3 bolts holding it in place, swap it over and reassemble with a new gasket. I even did big end bearings with the off. ;) -

Hmmmmm that does sound like a lazy pump.... or maybe a dodgy sender? Definitely get it checked out thou before going to far... low oil pressure will wipe an engine out. -
Hi Kip, Cheers for the link, out of interest do you remember how many cans it took? I'm about to get my front panel shot blasted so need to get something on it as soon as I can.

LOL! Ahhh you're right! :D my dyslexia kicking in again.. read it as a 57k motor which I assumed was a brand new one and the ancillaries were 6k lol
