  1. Unfortunately my car is still in a million bits :(
  2. I could never find any proven results with tubular manifolds... they seem to be prone to cracking, and dont hold heat that well. I got the dremel out and polished my cast ones... tig welded the downpipe and smoothed off the internal welds ;) that will probably do for me.
  3. reply and see if they will ship a few sets to the UK maybe?
  4. Yeah welcome along Doffy - car looks great, some parts of that kit they got right, other bits I scratch my head a little but a great bit of 90's nostalgia ;)
  5. Yeah he wont even accept email from the UK, I did try dropping him a line
  6. Could be worth a go, they look good! - he did say obviously other injectors will fit, but they've not tested different setups or make what they would class as a revised replacement. I think these are the ones you have to use a 3bar FPR with or it will run rich?
  7. Yeah I reckon a gasket of some description would do the job. I've since read that the TT rears are almost impossible to fit to the corrado? I was thinking it would be a bolt-up scenario like the MK4 Golf :(
  8. Funnily enough I opened a customer support case with Bosch UK regarding this - to see if there was a superseded part we could use, and they called me this morning. They said when WV approached them for the injector setup on the VR engine it was a pain because of the offset cylinders odd length inlet ports - apparently the ECU is pretty clever, tweaked over a standard 6 pot brain and actually compensates for this and is matched to the injectors. His advice was to replace or clean/service the ones I have unless I have a lot of spare cash to spend on ECU's, FPR's, Injectors and most costly of all dyno time for probably very minimal gains.
  9. Cheers fellas I'll definitely spend the time sorting the flap out, it did work perfect before I stripped it for painting, so will only be time and some patience to rectify ;)
  10. Ahhhh ok - I thought the gains were after the flap opened... got-ya! ;) Yeah its exactly that, it catches.. out of the manifold its smooth and operates fine, I'll just have to spend more time on it. Cheers Gaz! :D
  11. Hiya Dox I wont be modifying the manifold just ensuring the flap opens and closes freely... I think its just where I had the butterfly off for cleaning its not gone back together exactly the same. `Its just that, my mate has done a lot of work for Ruf on the CTR3 so know his stuff and he cant see what the flap actually adds? as after 4k (in factory setup less if you desire) its fully open anyway.... and all the gains are after the flap opens :( So I was just thinking of blanking it off... not welding it or changing it of course ;)
  12. Hello all, Just a quick question, has anyone that owns a Schrick VGI run it without the induction flap? I'm having a few issues getting the butterfly back in and working correctly, its fine until you tighten the bolts... then it locks solid... admittedly I need to spend a bit more time looking at it maybe a wipe of wet'n'dry will help. But me and my mate were looking over it, he does a lot of Porsche stuff and he was not entirely convinced on what it actually added as it not changing the length of anything like a varioram or adding more air... it just opens 2 x 3 ports into 1 x 6 ports. he suggested milling a blanking plate and leaving it open.. All I can see is you might loose a very minimal amount of torque low down, which hopefully I should offset with the capacity increase and higher compression ratio. Anyone running without it?
  13. Almost tempted to sell mine for bits and buy this! Nice looking motor....
  14. Didn't know there was a digi option for the MK2 Golf ? My knowledge of the cluster was you swapped the 8V 120mph one for the 160Mph 16v item..... I can remember looking at my mates UR Quattro that had a digi dash and thinking - I bet thats a PITA when it goes wrong! LOL! I've got a very early MK2 cluster in the garage.. 1984 GTI, one of the first and it had the economy meter fitted with the gear change light that was dropped on later models
  15. Good call - I found Larkspeed to be very helpful and ordered the B12 from them also ;)
  16. Hi Tan The Eastwood Aluma-Blast paint is good if you didnt want to polish everything... ;) https://www.frost.co.uk/eastwood-aluma-blast-paint-340g.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAieTUBRCaARIsAHeLDCR7QzWOTOQPlMLn49DSEEhYU30xENYiwc_cUoHQNAJbbc3HNV0G6o8aAlMpEALw_wcB I did the rocker/cam cover on mine with it... really good finish Apparently just the standard NGK are the best plugs for the VR lump, from what I'v read it doesnt like the expensive ones as much.
  17. Gesss they should register it with London Stock Exchange - value has doubled in a month!
  18. I can vouch for the Halfords one... until late last year my car was outside and once the clips were secure under the car it stayed put even with the gales we had. On sunny days I did air the car thou and dry the cover off the car etc. no vents on mine ether.
  19. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202243745361?ul_noapp=true Belong to anyone here? Not sure on the 212bhp at the wheels.... that would mean 245 - 250ish at the flywheel.. so circa 50 - 60hp gain from a VSR/263's,head port and map... seems big on a N/A motor... but anyway still very nicely done.
  20. Had a few roles over the years.... Floor layer, hard and soft flooring. Trained as a panel beater Many years spent building with my father. Ended up in IT... from PC/Servers to Networking.. specialist subject Optical Transmission :( - yawn! I'd rather be working on my car! LOL!
  21. Might be worth posting some pictures?
  22. Geeba

    Sunroof

Apparently the B3 Passat estate roof fits.... probably as rare as the Corrado roof.... Whats wrong with yours?
  23. Auto gear knob? Think I've got a brand new one somewhere that I bought before doing the manual conversion..
