Dropped you a couple of PM's let me know what you think.

Hi Hasan No worries... did have a read about the Schimmel short run... their site claims +20WHP, but reading some reviews its at the cost of low end torque... the Schrick item seems to be the best all-rounder still... I've got a mate who has a Porsche tuning business and he looked at the stock manifold over the weekend as he's giving me a bit of a hand... his exact words were "that's an absolute monstrosity! - you can't put that back on the car!" lol :(
-
Hi Joe Ah yes you're not that far away... do you have pictures of how the manifold looks now?
-
Bargain time again! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142403810992?ul_noapp=true £1500 for a gearbox anyone? Or you could get your own one refreshed for £150.... decisions
-
Yeah did have a quick look on there... there usually is one kicking about but nothing at the moment...
-
LOL! Indeed, they seem to be pretty expensive... You can buy the Schimmel short run manifold reasonably cheaply but it's apparently better suited to turbo cars although there is a small gain on NA motors..

Just putting the feelers out - anyone got one they don't intend using?
-

Stu - would you have the pedal box assembly? I'd still like the grill as well if its available, I did reply to your message, but I didn't know if you meant the badge was cracked or the grill had broken as well...
-
Arrrghhhh spring is wrong! Should look like this :( Has anyone got one?
-
Well the clutch spring has turned up... not quite what I was expecting.. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?
-
Leak could also be a burnt out valve, that would also cause a misfire, the VR engine isn't hugely complex.. have you thought about DIY?
-
Front Grill badge? - I'll take it with the grill if you want as I could use a new one of those too as one of my tabs is broken ;)
-
LOL! Yep its the Halfords one - I wanted to cover it up until I can get it back inside the garage, Mums had a couple of people putting notes through the door asking to buy it as well, so I thought if they cant see it maybe that would be better ;)

Welcome along

Just so people are aware - the Airtex water pump from ECP although it seems like pretty good quality also has a plastic impeller, I'm sat here holding one that turned up today... I guess I have no option but to go with that and just expect to change it in a few years... rubbish! why do they do that! :(

That spec car should feel pretty swift... not sure on the green injectors for the other hardware you have thou, a standard charger just isn't shifting enough air to justify them... my 18T rolled 240Bhp on the standard injectors and I've seen BAM engines go over 300 with the duty cycle on the the stock injectors and indeed a 230bhp Golf G60 on standard injectors- I'd be more worried of bore-wash. Check over the basics, plugs leads, vacuum hose leaks and like suggested the timing, then to be safe get it to a specialist and let them give it a once over and throw and oil change and service at it maybe.

I would never of thought that a cat had that much affect on the noise... could you not wrap the pipe to make it quieter?
-
Top repair!! :D

Morning Hasan I was thinking along the lines of whipping the A- Pillar trim off, a light emery cloth on the pillar to remove the paint, fix the copper part of the antenna to that then re-fix the trim to cover, By the look of the picture you would be left with the plastic connection box tight upto the pillar trim which would look possibly better and you would also then have the Ground Plane effect for the antena My other thought is the Hirschmann roof mount... if that is the right one it pretty much looks factory ;)

Welcome back ;) - sounds like a fantastic buy!

Morning Cressa Is this the one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kinetic-DRA-6001-Roof-Mount-FM-AM-DAB-Car-Aerial-5m-DAB-and-FM-AM-Cables-/122421889153?epid=1627759029&hash=item1c80e9c881:g:t20AAOSwu4BV3CtE
