Childhood cars , which would you go for now , if you had the dough ?.

This was my first car.. in that exact colour! BLMC Java Green, promptly nicknamed 'Kermit' by my mates. bought after I was told I wasn't allowed it... rebellion!! I know they're pretty terrible.. but I only really have good memories, I had it resprayed and fitted a stero with the 80's must have seperate Graphic Equilizer! Drove it for miles and it emptied my wallet in fuel over the time I owned it... sold it to someone in the same village as me and he promptly parked it up and let it rust away in his garden.... Then a few other sheds before moving to MK2 Golf GTI's ;) -
Dox, do you know the part number for the diff? or the exact model that goes in? It's crunch time this weekend, cars off to my mums for stripping out ;)
-
They're not bad at all really, far from wilton or axminster but defo better than my 15 quid ones ;)
-
I was going with the VR box and the 16V diff? - is that correct?
-
You need to move back to the UK with all these Corrado goodies!! LOL! I'm honestly not sure what size I need.... would it be worth looking at a Peloquin 16v diff maybe?

No worries - keep me posted if theyre any good and you want to move them on ;)
-
Ahhhh do you have the rear TT calipers and carriers? I was tempted to add the vented rears.
-
Sorry Dox yes calipers... unfortunately no carriers...
-
Still collecting parts for my VR... a friend of mine has offered me some MK4 TDI130 - which apparently fit over 288mm disks - will these fit the Corrado does anyone know?
-
Anyone got one or could recommened where to pick one up?
-
mine only seems to work at full speed?... is this a known issue?
-
Gesss you of flogged me a set! lol Yeah I remember when they were really thick and heavy... maybe these are really old stock, I'm sure they will be fine... not that I'll use them! ;) You need another hobby dude! - trying to build a corrado from parts in your loft is crazy! drink beer instead ;)
-
Oooopps... got some cheap ones, they're not bad but for a set of decent ones it would be £40, so genuine VW ones for £60 is cool Ahhh its just come back a VW dealer thats selling them... http://www.hadwinsvolkswagen.co.uk/ - so not a bad deal I guess... and if it was sammys salvage I would of paid £150 for worn out ones! LOL!
-
Just checked mine.... 3 slat all open, air-con model.
-
Pretty naff job to do... I went for a genuine one from the main dealer as I didn't want to have to do it again... just a thought
-

-
Yeah - doubt you get much change from a fiver now... 1988... gesss feels like a long time ago, Corrado was a thing of dreams and I was running a TR7 :(
-
What a coincidence! Found in a pile of old magazines... was just about to grace the recycling bin! Might be a complete anorack and keep this one! :D
-

-

Very nice! engine bay looks fantastic. -
not something you could look at yourself? - if it is the bearing they're pretty cheap, depending on how old your clutch is thou it could be worth putting a new one in... I waited for one of Dox's GSF codes and got a Sachs clutch to my door for under £90 ;)
