You'll need to tell them whether you need early or late mate! Truth is, it can be better to bite the bullet on this one and buy new, despite the extortionate cost from the stealers. It's such a fragile part that a secondhand one might not last you too long anyway. If I recall correctly, there is a guide (in the wiki?) to repairing your switch (if it's late style) so it won't go again, a bit like dave16v's door handle repair. Edit: indeed there is a guide to D.I.Y. repair for late style switches in the Knowledge Base, and dave16v sells the appropriate reinforced metal parts in a kit.

Mate, gutted. Not sure there's anything I could really do, but if you can think of something, let me know.

I'm with all those on this page. It's great entertainment.

I wish I had stuff like that in my garage mate! The Golf was sold on eBay. I do miss it though, next ambition is to run a tidy GTI alongside the VR, share the mileage. Well, that'll be the excuse anyhows.
-
Don't tempt me mate, I think I'd be in trouble with the other half if I had two VRs! If you do decide to sell, you'll have people biting your hand off even more quickly than I did for your last VR! You've put an awful lot of cash into that and it looks gorgeous.

Marcus, I'm not buying this one off you mate!

"When I said pussy magnet, this isn't quite what I had in mind".

The best yet. Loved every second. The look on the Hamster's face when the rocket went wrong was wonderful. As was Clarkson's crack about the centre of the Earth and lawnmowers and his work with the chainsaw! Absolutely brilliant!

Brilliant! The best presents are always the ones you make yourself.

Filling up at my local B.P., middle aged fella comes over towards the queue as I'm waiting, having picked up his paper. Looks at me, catches my eye, then a propos of nothing, asks "Is it a VR?" Cue a five minute conversation as he and I both paid then went out to our cars about his history of 'rocco ownership and the nice condition of the VR. It ended with him taking me through the delights of how much power he can squeeze out of his current ride, about the smooth power and the 44 mpg. I didn't have the heart after the chuftie to point out to him how much nicer it is to own a 'rado than a Volvo!

Hello mate and welcome! Thought whoever bought that from the 'bay would have themselves a bit of a bargain, so well done! Welcome to the world of just run in VRs!

On the subject of Astons, is it me or are there far more of them in general circulation than there used to be? Maybe it's just the Midlands becoming more affluent (hence my inability to afford a house!) but when I was a lad (oh dear) then spotting one was a real treat. These days I seem to spot them quite often.

I know what you mean Jim. I was walking into Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago when a Murcielago (classic yellow this time) passed me and the missus. It was only idling forward in traffic at about fifteen miles an hour, but I promptly got terribly excited and started making comments about the burble of the big engine ticking over. The other half made indulgent sighing noises bless her.

Boj, I have indeed. I keep an open mind on this subject but appreciate the passion of his convictions. But then who was it who said that atheism is as passionate a position as belief? It's certainly very heavily staged these days but I don't believe that the gas station part was. Perhaps the only part that wasn't but the most illuminating.

It's amazing what you can do with religion though. It's the greatest excuse for killing that has ever been.

I'm with Boj and ziderapple. Thought it was great. A one-off bit of silliness like that does a world of good. Dead funny.

Door pockets are different but can be swapped over. Cards are the same size but later cards had the window switches on the door pocket and the mirror switch on the driver's side handle. There is an article in the knowledge base about adapting the mirror controls.

I thought Halfords normally did Rain-x. Thinking of doing this to mine since my rear wiper is redundant ever since I foolishly took my 'rado to the stealers to have a start problem fixed. They must have disturbed something in the fusebox since the wiper hasn't worked since. It's not the motor, I've replaced that. It squirts but doesn't wipe. I've had the fuses checked and they're all apparently fine. Mystery. Tidy job by the way Rob. Yours has got to be one of the tidiest, most immaculate looking 'rados around.

Looks like a couple of others beat me to it!

Hello mate. This one's been debated several times before, most noticeably here. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... orrado+vr6 Welcome to the forum! Little tip to avoid the wrath of the mods (and to save yourself time waiting for responses), the search function is really useful. You'll find that an awful lot of very knowledgeable people (far more so than I!) have often debated the issue or problem before. My personal two pennyworth? It's got to be the 'rado everytime! Looks and rarity alone would elevate it, even if performance was indivisible (although there was a thread recently in which some people reckoned their Mk III GTIs or VRs got noticed more than the 'rado!). However, by all accounts, the Corrado is much better equipped to put down the power without losing anything, and be much more fun in terms of handling. However, there are more than a few peeps on here who love their Mark IIIs too, and at least a couple who own both Golf and Corrado VR6s. Enjoy! All the best, Ed.

And that it didn't happen when you were doing ninety on a snowy motorway!
