  1. Did anyone ever think anymore about a Group Buy for the Comp2s? If I were ever to move away from standard wheels, it'd be for those.
  2. Excellent work mate! I'm trying to work to the same end...will let you know if I achieve it. :D
  3. well it would be rude of me to say no to free a beer now wouldn't it!!!  I'd definitely be very insulted!
  4. I normally have my hair cut for the rugby season, can't referee with such girly locks! They still say that in our school, yes but then we're a grammar school so a little more old fashioned. The little ones still ask permission to take off their blazers, bless them.
  5. Lovely post craigowl. I feel exactly as you do, despite having been born here and having lived here for most of my life, less three equally lovely years down in Devon. I never take my county for granted, especially not the wonderful scenery and the hills. Going up there in all seasons and watching the landscape changing is a passion of mine; life always seems to have been put into perspective when standing on the top of the Malverns and watching Worcestershire sleep down below. I'm bang alongside you on Elgar too, though many of my more classically inclined friends view him as an inferior composer. To me, his music IS the place of my birth and the England that I know. I also love the story of Elgar taking another great of the twentieth century, Tolkien, on a walk on the hills, after which Tolkien was apparently inspired to return to his unfinished novel, having been reminded of his vision of the white mountains of Gondor. If you're ever down in the 'shire following the Elgar trail, give me a shout craigowl. I'll gladly take you for a pint of Malvern Hills Bitter in one of the many fine pubs up by the hills. Oh, and there's one other reason for living here: God's own cricket ground.
  6. Now THAT is music to my ears my friend! Good stuff! Will buy you a thank you beer in advance of help when we meet! Ed.
  7. Thanks for the fresh comments guys, hadn't realised you'd already found this Benny (hence my comments elsewhere!). Am often up in Malvern yes, and Gardiner's Quarry is my favoured photo location. Also a nice road leading to it... 8) Cazza, I'd love to lower it moderately, just to the level that should have been OE. But I want to go with coilies, and any time I start getting money together for them, it gets eaten by something else (eg the stone that did for my rad a week ago!). And of course, I'd love to charge it, but whether that'll ever happen... And I did some work for Fruits of the Loom but I haven't seen the bastard royalty check yet! I feel so used... Ed.
  8. Benny, You might well have, I often make trips up to the hills (and the pubs!). Then again, it could well be Edd's (also of this forum) dragon green VR. If it's got all red rears, it's his. If it's Classic Green and standard but for Solitudes, it's me. There's a link to my gallery at the bottom of this post. Will be looking out for you mate, hope to spot you before the Air Balloon meet! And does this mean there'll now be a friendly, helpful presence at Listers?! Ed.
  9. Hello there! Worcester boy, born and bred, strong in the arm, thick in the head. There aren't that many 'rados round these parts and when I do spot one, it's never a forum member! Unless it's Dave, and then I'm not in the 'rado. Hope to see you at a meet soon, Ed.
  10. Thank God you pointed out that it was disc glow in the fourth shot down; I thought you'd fitted the space saver...
  11. Certainly doesn't look like a standard Corrado blue.
  12. Seems to have been dogfart at the wheel. He's noted it in the spotting thread. Clicky
  13. I teach not far at all from that. I have seen a green VR near Lydiate Ash in the morning rush hour. So did a Scottish colleague of mine who drives a Mk IV TDI who likes to race/swear at me in the mornings (he also commutes from Worcester). On one occasion he gave the bird to the green VR when it took an unexpected route up. He then arrived at work, walked into the Staff Common Room (where I was already happily coffeed up and marking away) and asked me in flat out astonishment how I'd got there so quickly! :D When I told him it WASN'T me in that particular green VR, he went an interesting colour. Brilliant. :)
  14. Hello mate. Nice to see another local. The missus lives in Bromsgrove and I teach just up the road into Birmingham, up past Junction 4. Look forward to seeing some pics of the motor!
  15. Good one! Take my hat off to you Karl, you've done smashing work there. Sorry to hear you've been ill  but happy to hear you're on the mend
  16. Great pics. Car looks lovely. What are the rims?
  17. Colleague of mine, elderly chap, into his Mercs and B.M.W. motorcycles was coming back to his car in the staff car park last night as I was pulling out of my spot, after we'd gone through the tortuous process of moderating coursework. I'd wound the window down and opened the sunroof and as I pulled out and wished him a cheery good night he was beaming away at the car and confided "I always quite wanted one of these. I remember when they were new. Lovely cars!". I could only agree!
  18. Mr Sands

    Sunroof bother.

This is one of the oldest and most common problems on the Corrado and thus has been done to death. Use the search and enter sunroof AND tilt and you'll uncover masses of threads on it. It's always worth using the search first, since the mods tend to be quite hot on locking threads which are needlessly duplicating material. Happy searching and welcome to the club! Ed.
  19. Popped into the Red Hart at Flyford Flavell tonight for a beer (great pub). On pulling in the old feller at the window seemed interested in the 'rado as I parked it by them. On leaving he seemed very interested again and the wife drew the curtain back to have a look. But meantime a Clio with gold alloys and Dutch plates pulled in and parked next to the 'rado. We were outside enjoying a beer and were able to watch as the feller driving and his daughter both spent a good three minutes admiring the 'rado from all angles, peering in through the glass etc. Majorly chuffed!
  20. Yup, as part of my top end rebuild. Mr Sands - did you have all of them replaced and at what cost (keeping parts seperate from labour)? cheers I'd say the guesses from the guys above about costs for parts and three hours labour is about right. I don't actually have an itemised breakdown of each task Vince did, simpy a summary of the job and a costing I'm afraid. Ed.
  21. Looks lovely. Nice arty shots too.
