Saw a dark blue G60 (I think: didn't get much chance to read plate or grille) going under the railway arches on Hylton Road in Worcester, towards the river bridge, today at lunchtimeish. Typically I spot the first new Corrado I've seen in these parts in ages and I'm in the missus' car.

Good day's spotting yesterday. Firstly a mystic Storm going from the A38 to the A491 on Lydiate Ash roundabout above the M5 at oneish. I was coming round from the 491 to get on the M5 south when you went through the lights in front of me as the last car through. I was in the Classic Green VR; I flashed but don't think you will have seen. Then the missus reckons that there might be a VW enthusiast recently moved into Wichenford, as she saw a blue N reg 'rado, reg. ending FTM as well as a classic Scirocco. She said they both looked very well cared for and had enthusiast type stickers in the windows. She was the lass on the horse if you were around! Ed.

Dark blue 'rado travelling south on the M5 during morning rush hour today, through the 50 limit between 5 and 6; the only vehicle on board a big car transporter!

Passed a dark VR going in the opposite direction through the Wyche cutting on the Malvern Hills border between Worcestershire and Herefordshire yesterday, late afternoon. Young feller driving returned our enthusiasm! Meantime, the girlfriend's brother has really got his spotting clogs on lately and has managed to see three in two days: J588 *** (dark grey and modded); purple coloured L883 *** and then apparently E588 ***, a gunmetal grey. Guess the last named must've been on a private plate or he's got confused! All in the Worcester area.

Brilliant! Could this be the first documented case of a Corrado MAKING its owner money, rather than costing?!
-
N reg blue Storm, joined the M5 north at Junction 7 at about two this afternoon, with me in hot pursuit! Pulled away very briskly into lane three but then slowed in the middle lane and gave me a thumbs up as I cruised up alongside, before leaving at Junction 6. Nice motor and first Storm I've seen in a year or two!

I did fear for the car too when reading the report, but given that he's not short of a bob or two (to understate things rather!) and that he seems to be genuinely fond of it, I am sure he'll have it repaired. I think it would be a different story if it had been bought by some airhead celebrity or footballer, who trashed it not long after it was new. However, Atkinson strikes me as a proper sort of petrolhead enthusiast, with the cash to sustain the hobby in a way we can only dream of. Good man!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-14414889 Ouch! Should we be looking out for a new member called mr_bean coming on here to buy wing mirrors from the breaking section?
-
D'oh. Should've thought it would have been you Edd!

Not me I'm afraid! Closest I got to Malvern yesterday was filling up at Clerkenleap at about nine, after a day that had seen me go to Southwark (to the Globe) and back from Brum in a coach full of L6th students. In the whole day's motoring, I saw five Ferraris, a Lambo, five Astons, too many Porsches to mention and two Rollers with three initials followed by 1, including AMS 1. Not one Corrado though!

Technical term?

Two spots in one journey today but both times on a coach full of cricketers returning from a match. Firstly J909, bordeaux coloured with early grille and aftermarket 17s (?), being driven up into Sutton Coldfield and then what looked like a dragon VR, on sale for a rather optimistic 4995 notes on the forecourt of Selly Oak motors.

the last word in the VR6 vs G60 debate......... maybe.......
Mr Sands replied to mic_VR's topic in General Car Chat
Brilliant! What I love is that the preview of this thread mentioned pulling up at the lights and I genuinely thought that you were going to have pulled up alongside a G60 and had an impromptu drag race to settle the argument! How wrong I was...loving the wife's description of supercharger whine! -
Anyone see the blackberry Corrado on the ITV1 programme about the sextuplets just? Bit random I know! Bless the gf, she came to rescue me from ploughing through 156 Year Seven end of year reports (joy!) to cheer me up by showing me that. Fair play to the father: one older child, six in one go (although only four survived sadly) and he's STILL running a C! Good lad; are you on here?! ---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 PM ---------- I'm so glad that it's not just me that this happens to! My missus and her brother are brilliantly trained and seem to spot 'rados near daily, where I go weeks without seeing one!

So sad to hear that you're leaving the club Dave but I suppose that the time comes for us all. I'm glad that Andy's taken on your lovely Storm but I shall miss running into you at meets. Ed.

My mate is doing considerably better than me with Corrado spotting recently. Yesterday he saw K*** XBA on the M50 going towards Wales, a dark blue C. Any takers? I tell you, these Corrados of ours are rare as rocking horse poop compared with common as muck supercars. Leaving Stratford yesterday and going back to Birmingham, I saw a Murcielago, a 911 and a DB9 all within the first mile (the latter two filling up at the same petrol forecourt) and saw four other 911s and a DB7 before getting back to school on the coach. Have seen one Corrado in the last goodness knows how many thousand miles!

Dark coloured Corrado, going north on the M5 between Junctions 5 and 4a, this evening at about five thiryish. I only saw you in my wing mirror, after you'd gone by. I was in the outside lane of the opposite carriageway.

Sounds like an horrendous experience mate but even so, firstly I'd be thanking my lucky stars that you stopped before the wheel actually parted company with the car! Truth be told, even though they obviously screwed up here, it sounds like they've done all you could expect to put things right. I guess that any organisation can have a junior member of staff have an off day; obviously it shouldn't happen, especially in an industry where you could cause an extremely serious accident if you don't do your job properly, but human error is still going to happen. However, it sounds like they've reacted exactly as you'd hope a place would when they've dropped the ball that badly. For all that they'd obviously c*cked up, I think everyone can remember plenty of times (that have happened to them or have read about on here) where a company has badly messed up work on their car and then stonewalled when confronted about it, despite overwhelming evidence of their negligence, thus cueing up a protracted and ultimately self-defeating chase for justice. I think for me the clue is in your describing it as family run. I don't take my car to anywhere where I don't know the firm or the individuals of old and trust them totally to do the job, so in your place I'd be thinking I'd keep going there, as the worst has pretty much happened (major screw-up) and they've done all they can to put it right. I'd imagine they'll be especially careful of your cars and your business in future! HTH, Ed.

That is absolutely legendary! Lock this thread now, that's the definitive chuftie! Absolutely love it.

I do indeed mate, I was signed up ages ago but I've long since forgotten my password.

Classic green VR on RXIIs. I keep wondering how we've never bumped into each other round Worcestershire at some point! Look forward to seeing you soon maybe! Ed.

Black centred alloys? If so I see it quite regularly and have had a quick friendly exchange of greetings in Tesco's car park. They're not forum users though.
-
Not exactly; if memory serves, it'll sit higher than Corrado seats do.

Nice one tonight: after a full working day and a dash home, had to go back up to Brum to go to a prep school's senior school choices evening to man my school's stand. Cue nearly losing my voice in two and a half hours of selling the school to prospective parents and answering about a billion questions about the entrance exam etc. However, on going back to the car and loading up our stand's stuff into it, the last other person in the car park, one of the parents, comes over to admire the VR and turns out to be a huge enthusiast. When he started with "Lovely stuff: I had five of these once!" I must confess I thought he was a billy buller but it turned out he obviously had, since he REALLY knew his stuff, having had a Storm, another VR, two G60s and a 16v (all at different times). Cue a good old chat about the car and me leaving with a massive grin on my face. Seems the car was chuffed too as it absolutely flew down the back lanes to the motorway... Hope he sends his kid to our school: clearly an intelligent family!
