  1. J*** UOB, green valver (?) went past me on the A4440 as I was going for my run yesterday evening and turned left at the St. Peter's roundabout towards Norton.
  2. Beautifully cared for green Storm, array of motoring badges on the grille, heading towards Junction 13 of the M6 on the A449 this morning. Driver responded as enthusiastically as we waved, you must be on here!
  3. Is ECS on Spring Lane? Was having my lunch in that area at 1ish when I saw a grey L reg VR using it as a test track, sounded good 8) Not long after that spotted a red G60 reg was something like J*** MRK, going past Brays store. Certainly is on Spring Lane, sounds like we saw the same one. Looked nice from what little I could see, given it was in the shop with bonnet up. It was actually the missus who spotted it, she's ace.
  4. And if she finds that difficult to take off and escape with, she's bound to nick your Corrado. :D
  5. L reg VR being serviced at ECS in Malvern today.
  6. Saw this in the metal at DG today. Looks lurverly. Nice to have holidays eh Andy?! :D
  7. Dragon green VR making good progress in the outside lane of the M5 south at Junction 6, about six o'clock yesterday evening. Lady driver at the wheel. We were heading north but not in the VR.
  8. Purple coloured (blackberry?) VR on a drive on the edge of Kings Norton today, lunchtime.
  9. I sympathise with you hugely. If it's any consolation, mine was parked up safely recently (or so I thought) on my girlfriend's brother's drive. When we came out, the Dub had slipped her bonds of servitude (the handbrake) and was smooching the arse of my girlfriend's brother's girlfriend's car. Which was French. :pukeright: No matter how hard I wash her, the taste just won't come out.
  10. All's well that ends well. Glad to hear it.
  11. That would figure...didn't think it was a local 'rado as hadn't seen it around before and it had some camping gear in it. If there's anything I can do for him would be more than happy to, I live right around the corner.
  12. About an hour ago in my local Tesco's car park, had the pleasure of parking the VR next to this rather rare beasty, a lovely Supercharged 16v, all looking very OEM with minty Recaros. Had forum stickers in it so left you a note under your wiper! :camp:
  13. Thought that'd be my first spot in ages but it's about a half hour too late... :(
  14. That's what makes life interesting! Be boring if we were all the same. For starters, everyone would drive a Corrado, and then they wouldn't be a litmus test of people with intelligence, like they are now! :) Glad we agree on Road Wars though.
  15. Absolutely! They did not! Don't know if that's a pop at the boys in blue but I've got to say, I've nothing but praise for them. In all my dealings with the Police (and I do know one or two people on the force or who are ex-coppers), I've found them to be superb people and that includes in the sort of circumstances in which people might normally take against them ie when my late grandmother's house was broken into whilst empty, property taken which we never saw again and when they pulled me over for speeding... Because whilst I don't believe in every policy they might have, I still think that the majority of them do a cracking job within the parameters they can. They're under-resourced hugely and, like any job, one or two of them make a bad name for the rest. I've read many of the stories on here about people being stopped because the copper was in a bad mood, didn't like the car etc. However, any profession has such bad apples, especially in a profession which employs as many as that. And they'll have policies set at management or government level that are awful. But for me to criticise the men and women on the frontline for the bad example of a few or for being subject to silly policy is as unjustified as a parent coming to me on Parents Evening and having a pop because she doesn't like the National Curriculum set texts or her child was badly taught in Primary School. It's nothing to do with me and all the people in my school are doing a bang up job in a friendly way. That's my experience of West Mercia and the Law in general. Just my tuppenyworth.
  16. Had a lovely day out today attending a Help the Heroes fundraiser put on by West Mercia Police at Throckmorton Airfield. First up was a lovely surprise: missus' brother had grown bored with his Renault Clio 1.6; looked lovely but lacked enough grunt, so he turned up today in this: Not usually a man for French motors but this is lovely...sorry about the picture, didn't take one until we got back, and it was raining, so I stayed under the porch to take this. :camp: So it was a little "pootle" over to Throckmorton, lots of banter about a match up soon against the VR (because the stats are so close it's ridiculous, although I suspect his will feel a little fresher, being only a year old...). Then a lovely day wandering round a superb collection of aircraft, tanks, fire engines, police dog demonstrations, vintage motors and tonnes and tonnes of Police Cars...and to my everlasting delight, these two gents are here! Just to seal the day off: aerial stunting galore and then flypasts by Tornadoes, a Dakota, a Hercules and even a Spitfire, which was the highlight of it all. Apart from meeting two living legends! 8) I can't praise them enough: consummate pros but even at the end of the long day, still glad to see muppet me and pose for the shot. Pat in particular was a legend. The Police as a whole put on a great show and I'm glad they're in charge of looking after us all. :salute: :notworthy:
  17. K reg dark blue G60, heading through Worcester past the Cathedral, yesterday evening at just past four o'clock. Seeing that on our way to a sun-drenched Twenty20 made our evening!
  18. The note's the best chuftie yet! Well done indeed to whoever left that; if only there were more people in the world like that. :notworthy: :salute:
  19. Today I had to cover a class of Year Nines whom I teach for English but a friend and colleague does for Physics; she was away so I was trying to steer them towards doing at least some work in her absence but also enjoying the craic with them, nice bunch of kids. In amongst the welt of questions designed to distract me from making them work (which I'm happy to let them do, up to a point), little John pipes up: "Sir, what car do you drive?" Self: "A VW" (thinking, there's no way he'll know what a Corrado is). "What kind Sir?" "A Corrado." (bracing self for "what are they?" given that the kid is younger than the car!). "Oooh, is it a VR6?" "Er...yes". "Nice!" Wonderful chuftie: I suppose he could simply have read the grille badge and have parroted it back but I got the feeling he knew his cars and felt the love. Take a bow young John! :salute:
  20. Just like to echo all the above comments, especially CazzaVR's about the sterling work done by the DG family to set the business up. It does exactly what it says on the tin (well, the website) about providing the kind of VW family feel to the place you take your car. I'm so lucky to have them on the doorstep... Wonderful turn out, so nice to meet so many familiar but also some new faces and thanks to Vaughan for putting up a picture of mine in the foreground, from the right end ie not showing the "dogging dents" in the bonnet (thanks to jaded2882 for that wonderful way of describing it)...watch this space for new panels soon!
  21. Blue L reg 'rado, parked up in Gillott (?) road in Birmingham this morning.
  22. I reckon I was car no.2. On having a shake down run following the chains and tensioners work the ABS light came on and it was traced to a brake pedal sensor issue. Hence I've been told they fixed this. Hopefully I will find out this Saturday when I pick the car up. That sounds about right. Car looked lovely when I saw it at DG by the way. :salute:
  23. And almost all of them in the most desirable colour too... 8) I believe one of them was in the most desirable of all colours though! :luvlove: Mind you, all of the corrados were in danger of being overshadowed by 'the loner' Hey, don't slag the temporary ride. That Polo and I had a magical couple of days getting acquainted before she went off to Surrey with someone new. Tart broke my heart...
  24. I can vouch for this as the guinea pig for the refurbished part: so far, brill. ABS light now goes out and stays out as should do! Well done Dave and Graham, another excellent DG service! :notworthy:
