  1. Renewal quotes are a joke anyway! Bell wanted £1050 to renew my insurance on the Rado, but as a new customer Admiral only wanted £780, and they're owned by the same company!!
  2. In all fairness i used to have a VTR myself. It cost £3.5k, i spent £1.5k keeping it on the road, and sold it for £2k a year later. Which is a large portion of the reasoning behind me being in £5k of debt and driving round in a £2k car!
  3. I've just been talking to a mate over good old MSN and she has informed me that my Rado is ugly and crap, and that her 1.1 saxo is much nicer!!! Don't situations like this just make ya wanna jump through the monitor and layeth the smack down!?!?!
  4. The lad that had the car before me put 4 new tyres on it before the sale, resulting in the cheapest tyres known to man being on my Rado. Its understeered on roundabouts 3 times so far, and i lost the back end doing a very respectable 30 around a country lane, the kinda corner that can be taken at 50, but the back end decided it wanted to play silly buggers. Resulting in me being 2inches from some blokes hedge. I used to smoke in my Rado, then i stopped for 2 months, so naturally the very first fag i had in it after 2 months was dropped onto the doorcard, leaving a nice burnt hole! Lastly, i attempted to slowly open the water expansion tank to release the pressure, however the pressure was too much and the edge of the tank split, pouring water all over my alarm control box, effectively destroying it, excellent!
  5. Getting some 195/40/16 Pirelli P zero nero tyres for them, then slamming the car on weitec/FK highsport coilies. However, unfortunately those plans are a little way off in the future as ive just bought all my sound system equipment to go in too. But it will be done and dusted in time for next years shows!
  6. Yeah this is true, every single episode they're running around like mad men to finished a car on a stupid time scale, and Boyd doesn't actually seem to do anything! Whereas chip is much more laid back, takes his time, and seems alot more passionate about what he is doin
  7. Im liking. Altho i agree with the Rado thing, just have the 'eastablished' part underneath, and then you can use that for all the retro dubs too, so thats like another 5/6 designs done already!
  8. These lil babies arrived on Friday, courtesy of gradeAfailure: When i first bought them i was in two minds as to whether or not they would work, so i offered them up to the car, and DAMN do they work!!!! See:
  9. Well, after ordering my doorpods i've been preparing for their arrival, by purchasing some nice bits and bobs: A lil sound deadening: Some quality power and RCA cabling: Amp and components: The amp is a 2 channel Eton jobbie, delivery a nice 2 x 165W RMS to the components: The components are Hertz Hi Energy HSK 165's: All equipment supplied by Luke Massy over at Plush Automotive, http://www.plush-automotive.com . His product section isn't finished on the site yet, but he deals in alot of very good brands, drop him en email if you're after anything. I've also got the car booked in to have all the equipment fitted as soon as the Audioscape pods arrive. Very very good set of components, will hopefully have the front end sounding sweet as a nut once everything is in. It'll all be running off a Blaupunkt Memphis headunit too.
  10. I've bee offered them for £440 delivery. Basically i just want to go with whichever ones will give me a good warrenty with a reputable supplier
  11. Mine is completely standard except for the Cd player, i wanted to keep it that way, but the bug has gotten me and she is being fettled over the winter:
  12. I'm back to looking at the FK Highsports now, found someone that can get them a lil cheaper than usual
  13. 60/40 drop isn't really enough to be honest. I think for the price i'm gonna with the Weitec GT's, just over £400, cant complain.
  14. My missus drives a 1992 5dr astra! So that'll be changing as soon as i can afford to sort summert out for her!
  15. I've seen some FK highsports for £300 2nd hand, i know they are £500 brand new, which is only slightly more than the Weitecs. I suppose the good thing with getting new ones is the warrenty on them, which 2nd hand ones won have. So its between the FK Highsports and the Weitec GT's for me at the min
  16. Ive had alot of people recommend the Weitec GT's aswell. Think the best price i found was around £450, so im guessing these would be worth saving for?
  17. Ok, so i've purchased my new wheels, and i've decided upon which tyres to get (Pirelli P zero nero), so next on the shopping list is coilovers. I have a budget of approx. £400, but if i were to stretch that to £500 and notice a considerable difference in quality then i would be willing to do so. So, formy budget, what do people recommend? Are the Supersport ones any good? As there is a set of ebay for £350. All help appreciated. Chris.
  18. Saving for coilovers is a ballache! You save so much then think "well the next set up is only another £100" Then you save that and say "well the set after that is only another £50", and so on
  19. I'm not too knowledgable about exterior mods to the Rado because i was convince i was going to keep mine standard, but soon changed my mind! Anyway, what would be the best grille for an early 16V model? Are the cheap badgeless grilles from venom any good? Cheers for any help. Chris.
  20. Oh for the love of god!! Does the Government really think that people will allow this to happen? If the entire country turns around and tells them to stick the idea up their arse what exactly are they going to do about it? I don't think anything like this will ever happen, because its been talked about for years, but if it does ever come into power i WILL be leaving the country!
  21. In all seriousness i think i would be quality if he ran for the position of prime minister, he'd certainly get alot of votes from the likes of us! And it would give us someone worth voting for as opposed to the 'choice' we have now
  22. Where abouts are you mounting it? Have it for your fog lights or something like that, but then again i guess you'd wanna use it quite often. But then if you don't use it much it'll keep people guessing!
  23. The standard wheel is 350mm, i reckon a Momo Millenium in 320mm would look spot on
  24. Don't think it'll make much difference, most people drive at 80/90 anyway, so if it was raised they would just drive at 90/100 instead
